  1. 2018 - 2 1st's 2019 - 1 1st 2020 - 1 1st That is what you are talking and no thanks to that. That is assuming they don't discount this year's pick at 22 and ask us for more to sweeten it. There has been plenty of these threads and you can dress them differently but the tone is pretty much the same. People want to believe that there is a magical process to find a player and no doubt the pro's have a few secrets in that regard but it should be said there is no magic that is going to help us. Which is to say such magic does not exist. If the Bills move up and grab a guy then I will support it although I will not be happy about using multiple picks. Something tells me that there is no one QB prospect that stands above the others.
  2. I think there is a very significant chance that Denver takes a QB. Keenum is on a one year deal someone here was saying.
  3. 6.5 million is a small price to pay if Rosen is the savior as some here believe that he is.
  4. I think that Hyde's presence in Cleveland has minimal impact on the Browns' plans. They have a ton of cap space and I doubt that Hyde has a no trade clause. Having Hyde is nothing more than having a hedge as to how Cleveland may want to work 1 and 4. If Barkley is as advertised then Cleveland trades Hyde and gains a draft pick or two.
  5. i don't understand the bleak talk here. We most likely will take a QB at some point this year even if it is not at the top of the draft. If nothing we do QB-wise works out this year there is always next year with us having nearly 100M and picks we could offer to a team needing to unload a QB due to cap problems. If we can offer up salary to other positions next year then we can surely do the same for a QB who would be less of an unknown unlike a draft pick.
  6. 7 franchise players is just one person's assessment. Really won't know until 10 years goes by to analyze the actual careers of these 7. 12 might have gotten Beane to a point where he thinks he can get somebody that he thinks is vital to the Bills franchise.
  7. The Giants and Bills can do anything but don't trust any "information" that has been put out for public consumption such as Eli getting two more years. Even if Gettleman put that out there himself he is not obligated to stick with it. I swear that some people have a mind of a child when it comes to assessing statements put out by media people.
  8. I want to say that I saw something not too many months ago saying that the Bills could be worth 1.6-1.7 billion in WNY in current times. Remember the Pegula's purchase has aged a few years already.
  9. The interesting thing about transitioning from high school to college is how much people will let their guard down to try new things. Also, seeing a larger cross-section of society you do see more mental health and emotional problems.
  10. She would have to liquidate certain assets and turn them into cash. Just a matter of how bad she wants to do it and I don't think she feels that strong an urge. It will be interesting to see who surfaces that can do it by themselves and not have to sell other assets. Thank God Pegula came along when he did for our sakes.
  11. It's only wildly unpopular with several extremely vocal posters. I would say based on casual observation that the board is almost split 50/50 between going up and adopting more or less a BPA available strategy. In any event there seems to be only 100 active posters or so on a daily basis here so I would hate to think that OBD would go out of its way to please any one block of poster.
  12. I kind of like the idea of trading down out of 12 if Mayfield and Roquan Smith are off the board then. Especially if is a good bet Evans is there at 19 or so.
  13. People have nothing better to do plus it makes a fair number of people feel good about their own lackluster lives.
  14. Because people around here have "shiny and new" syndrome regarding QB's. I bet their wives (or girlfriends) make a point of not going down past "automobile dealer row" in their community if they can help it as what is on the lot is automatically better than what the family owns in their minds.
  15. OBD is not obligated to do anything we say which is the point. Backloading is your point and not anything more than that. I don't necessarily disagree with it but consider it fairly improbable. At this point we do not know how long Jones will be gone. It's not a forgone conclusion at this point that he is done in Buffalo. Who knows, maybe he will walk away from the NFL as he might find the sudden spotlight very uncomfortable.
  16. And when has reaching ever worked? Whitner? McCargo? Maybin? Just as easy to reach at QB as it is at other positions. We were more than a QB away during the decade of darkness.
  17. Good prototype in terms of height and weight. Good if not spectacular completion percentage and TD's in his junior and senior seasons. Level of competition hurts so second round and likely bottom half of that round. We have the first pick of the third round so he may very well be there.
  18. At this point the better fits may wait until after June 1 or camp time when somebody goes down. Maybe the Bills restructure or maybe they decide to handle it via the draft. Their choice. 30 million was not showing as of a day ago or so but I'll take your word for it for now. Further, they may see better value in players that play other positions and again use the draft to address WR. Yeah, you can rearrange things when it comes to the cap but sometimes in the long that is not the best way to handle things.
  19. You can't worry about a few loud posters on a message board that is not officially tied to the team. Beane should follow his board even if it means no trade up and no QB at 12.
  20. Take White in the 2nd and temper the expectations. We have close to 100M next year and could trade picks to a team facing a salary issue and needing to unload a QB or would be willing to trade a QB. Far better value in players we can use such as with Vea or R Smith. Don't reach with your 12 or 22.
  21. At this point I don't see any of those guys coming here for a paltry salary which is where we are at w/o unplanned changes. We supposedly have 20-21 million with around 10 reserved for the rookie class and 8-10 reserved for in-season needs such as signing somebody to replace a player who went down with injury. I don't see Beane tapping into the "injury" money.
  22. Still going to have to face the penalties the league assesses in such matters. So he probably will not be available opening day. Or the week after. Or the week after that.
  23. Yep, with any luck negligence charges could be found to teach that loser a lesson.
  24. I still do not see a true replacement for Jones in terms of assignment in the field of FA WR's. I just see body's to fill a position.
  25. If anything we will have those picks as recent events most likely have dinged those plans if Beane was truly thinking about it versus it being a fan, media, and IB fantasy.
