He ain't going anyplace and if he does get it turned around in year 3 all these guys poohing on him in this thread will be saying that they knew he would get the team on track. I know every team has its message board drama queens but we have enough to stock half the teams in the league. Heck, the Gang Green board was no where as active yesterday at 5PM and people here had them pegged as going the right direction with Darnold. Of course this board will not revival the board of Pats Pulpit once Tom and Bill are gone and fans think that they can go 13-3 every year with ordinary people running the Pats.

WHO DESERVES THE BLAME?? THE PEGULAS!
RochesterRob replied to billsfan61184's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anybody can see that the team is terrible (well, not the defense) but is the team heading in the right direction or do we have reason to believe they are heading in the right direction? I think that the plan went a little different than expected so we are paying for a rebuild this year versus last year. Let's see how they use their first 3 picks in 2019 and some of that 90 million dollars before we jump off of the bridge. -

Anthony Lynn still has a lot to prove. The Chargers have had periods where they were a great regular season team only to have done nothing in the playoffs. As it stands today I don't see them getting past KC or NE in the playoffs. If a championship is the measuring stick then I don't see where they have accomplished their mission. -
WHO DESERVES THE BLAME?? THE PEGULAS!

Last year was supposed to be the "tear it down and start the rebuild year" but we finished hot. So this year serves that purpose. We had some bad contracts to purge and 50M in dead cap. How many teams are playoff caliber that have a similar cap problem? None that I am aware of. People think that we can get juice from a rock and it ain't happen'ed. I understand people being upset at another lost season but there is a reason that nearly all of the people here are not working for a NFL team. If it were as easy as some suggest our problems would have been fixed well before today. I know that I am going to change very few minds here because it makes people feel good to criticize others without having to come up with real world solutions on their own. -

They are saying he should have held a clipboard for his freshman season. At least we can hang our hat on our defense where other than the one safety they feel lost. -

Pretty much what I saw as well. Gang Green pretty demoralized after losing to the Dolphins. -

I agree with your statement. I remember reading some of his columns back in the 1980's. Then it was like he was told he had to "play ball" or get out of the media business. He sold his soul for sure. -

Four ints will be hard to beat and our defense can be opportunistic. -
Yep, and people have two choices. Work or leave the company. Most have to work as they are not independently wealthy and in the real world have extremely few options for alternative employment. NFL players are not that much different. Even in a contract year a player that quits usually will not be courted by the top teams. Most of our guys are not in contract years and have no real leverage with the Bills or any other team. Most right now in their minds are thinking just get through to next year and hope things start to improve.

50M of dead cap made that impossible. If 20M would have gotten us 3 offensive players then Beane might have approached the last offseason differently. We were between a rock and a hard place on QB's and WR plus nobody worth obtaining was out there for OL. Just how the cookie crumbled for us. -

I read nearly all of these "oughta be fired" posts with the voice of Abe Simpson from the Simpson's in my mind. It adds to the comedy. -

The Bears appear to be taking control of their division versus being a bottom feeder. They could go deep into the playoffs until they meet the Rams or Saints. -

The players are not into tanking nor should they be so their frustration is legit. But in the end when it comes to clandestine maneuvers they don't matter. Beane and McDermott have to sell it as though things have backfired as most people outside of message boards don't want to hear about their team intentionally tanking. What players should have been kept and players that should have been let go for a tank is entirely subjective. To keep a core of players interested that are already here you have to look like you are at least trying. Players such as Lotuleilei are being auditioned with the intention of being kept long term if they appear to be a piece of the puzzle. The bottom line is I doubt very much anybody meaningful is getting fired at OBD so fans might as well use their energy at being mad elsewhere. -

Don't have to be into analytics. This is looking like a deliberate tank from several angles. Even with our defense we were not going to go far in this year's playoffs. Let the tank play out hopefully with a top 3 pick and then see how things look come August 2019. -

Sheesh!? I know guys are upset but please read what I actually posted. I did not come right out and call any prospective player garbage but I said almost word for word it's doubtful anybody is going to sign a game changer as any such player will be retained by their old team. -

And there will most likely be none of either position there for any team as any top 7 player at these positions will be retained by their old team. All the teams you list will have to pull from the second shelf from the top on down so it's doubtful somebody is going to sign a game changer. Somebody might actually be impressed with the idea the Bills have a nearly complete defense at this point barring how this season finishes. Let's get through the offseason before we start burning anybody at the stake. -

These 10 teams are all going to have the same needs as the Bills? Doubtful. We do have three picks in the first three rounds in 2019. Easily can be used on the offense. If the Bills ignore the offense this coming off season then I will think about carrying a torch or pitchfork. -

Before the season started everybody was in for the tank and a top 5 pick and now they have buyer's remorse? No sense in fixing anything at this point. Get the top 5 pick. Breathe in. Hold. Breathe out. Repeat. The Bills were not going any place realistically this year and now we are seeing a few teams in the AFC start to pull away. Just get through the remaining two months and hopefully we are picking in the top 3. Not a fan of picking QB with the top pick in two consecutive years but there maybe a conundrum seeing the Ohio State QB and a couple of others. -

Does anyone here still watch The Simpsons?
RochesterRob replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That's because FOX realized that adults spend more on themselves than their kids so they needed an adult centric character for ad revenue. Also, attracts viewers that are childless or don't care for kiddie themed shows specifically. Just like Batman of the 1960's some of the material was aimed at people ages 18-30 as well as the school aged crowd.
