You need to tell that to the short guy with the bad haircut who is running North Korea. -

Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
RochesterRob replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't think Tibs was joking. He knows Hillary has a newly filled bag of dirty tricks that will lay waste to her competitors. He knows it is there if Hillary wants it and we know that Hillary wants it. The Republicans will have no problem but for the Democrats Hillary will be like a pox released upon the land. Uncle Bernie had better practice his "still don't want to hear about those damn e-mails" spiel. Tibs is just getting ready for the inevitable emotionally. -

Hillary has a hold of the notion of being POTUS like a junkyard dog has a hold of a soup bone. For Hillary it is all about timing and it has to piss her off at present that somebody else is getting the media buzz. Also, I believe as do many others that she has dirt on many of her competitors courtesy of her time as First Lady with access to the FBI and is not afraid to leverage it. I would bet that Hillary polls very well with many Democrats especially those white females over age 45. Those who would be able to make the largest campaign contributions. -

That would be Tibs' dream come true. -
Good. I want to see him age on the field where he costs the Pats games. I want to see the fighting that goes with Bill B benching him then Brady pouts to the media. Then I want to see Kraft say "no comment" to the media while he is filled with rage but does not know how to properly outlet it. I want to see Bill B be the kicking puppet for Kraft's anger which in turn sends Bill B into retirement. Then a year from that time Bill B comes out of retirement to coach another team so in turn Kraft can moan to the media "the understanding" was Bill B was retired for good but broke a gentleman's agreement. Then I want to see Brady in his need for one last big payday write a book that is not flattering to the NE organization. Sadly, this book will lack an outright confession to any unethical conduct by the Pats organization.

I get that but the chances are pretty remote that a payoff will be uncovered anytime soon after it is made. Somebody willing to pay a ref enough to change the outcome of a championship game is probably willing to do away with a squeaky wheel if you know what I mean. A payoff most likely would be into six figures for a conference championship game and if banked it would be done outside the US into Switzerland or the Cayman Islands. In any event I strongly doubt payoff. If you are conspiracy minded then I would more likely believe interference from the league office on behalf of a large market team.

Reasons to be Optimistic
RochesterRob replied to BeginnersMind's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I am glad that you jumped into that pool before I did. Number 5 is the only reason for me to feel optimistic. There is still plenty of misery and inequality in the world. I don't root for people to die but we already don't know what to do with the over 7 billion people that are alive today. Technology is already making the bustle of the 1950's workplace with jobs for even the most unqualified a very distant memory. McDonald's is looking to be fully automated and if Walmart could get robots to put out stock then you won't see an organic employee in there. People used to be able to pass the time with simple activities but nobody is encouraged to grow a garden or trim a hedge anymore. People sitting around all their waking hours being subjected to media stimulation will not be a good thing long term. -

Translation being not enough time has elapsed since her last disaster and figures she will be the media darling after they spend the next several months sorting through the trash that is the other candidates. Clinton figures that too much time on the center stage alone in 2016 hurt her. -

Amazing how things have changed over the last 100 years. 100 years ago the only ships of that size would have been ocean liners or battleships. A Pennsylvania class battleship would have been a fraction (15M) of Danny's pleasure boat. -

In terms of ineptitude yes but Hillary is far worse in terms of being nefarious. -

Taking on Blake bortles contract?????

The point is the team would be buying draft picks and readily unloading Bortles. I am not sure I understand the impact on the cap on the other hand. So I am not sure what this would cost us in dollars. The OP is not suggesting to my knowledge keeping Bortles around. -

If they modify the challenges then they should have one set of challenges for regular season and maybe provide one or two additional challenges for the playoffs. -
All it will take is a motivated base with money to spend on a suit. Joe Fan never had the money to hire big gun lawyers to bend the NFL to its knees. If I were this D'Amico guy I would file suit in the 9th circuit court in San Francisco where the population has wealth envy and generally hates capitalists which the NFL owners have their picture next to the definition for capitalist.

They have obviously learned nothing. Of course pulsing under the surface I have noticed that the left thinks that they can be rid of the Electoral College by 2020.
