We both know from a personal standpoint that Goodell did not give a crap about what Irsay did. Goodell's job is to protect the league's revenue and Kraft's conduct even if he walks out of court unscathed will be damaging to female viewership which the league is trying to increase. Goodell can't sit there and tell everybody that Kraft nodded his head in every owner's meeting that a discipline issue popped up at but now when it is Kraft's turn to face punishment he won't undergo the same process. The media will roast the NFL into being rid of Kraft. Certainly the media of 31 NFL cities.

The bottom line here is up until now Kraft was on the other side of the fence in terms of protecting the league's image when it came to troubled souls. It is going to be very hard for Goodell to tell the media that Kraft can't be held to the same standard as he held others to. This makes Richardon's problems look like a Sunday afternoon walk in the park.

Robert Kraft In Deep Crapola

The stain of sex trafficking will force the Kraft name out of the NFL. People will get up in arms even if it is the son running the team. The son might have had a chance if Bob was in the position of one time owner or past owner but as of this afternoon he is the owner. Anything less than a complete sale is a PR debacle that Goodell wants no part of. What nobody is thinking about and perhaps should is some media outlet will look to spread discord by putting Kim Pegula in front of a camera. She will be damned if she does not speak out for the victims of which some hail from her homeland even if she wants to give Kraft the benefit of his day in court. -
The NFL is very image conscious. They can't very well suspend players ahead of their day in court and at the same time just let Kraft go as though it did not happen. The schtick with CBS panning to Kraft's booth every time the Pats score is definitely on Goodell's mind this very moment and how it will offend women in the viewing audience.
