  1. So was Joe Friday. Friday considered the AFL a league lead by hippies and freaks such as Joe Namath.
  2. Beane/McD get another chance unless the wheels totally fall off this season and next season. Meaning the team outright fails or quits versus a rash of bizarre injuries. The Pegula's surely realize that turning over the staff every three years does not make Buffalo a desirable stop for new potential candidates.
  3. Neither did Joe Friday.
  4. Pretty sure that New York (where your hypothetical win took place) and most other states will not let you do that in terms of a trust going public I would also tend to believe that 10M dollars will not change my lifestyle although it would change my address.
  5. How would you manage money and the people around you? I come from a family that is comprised of all types of people as I would bet most posters here are. If you don't like the thread you are not obligated to answer. As to being stupid not at all. People transition from meager means to wealth all the time and mostly without lottery winnings. A lot of times the road is bumpy with near-do-well types who are out to separate people from their money.
  6. That is why you offer picks that can be converted into higher values once a contract is finalized. A third that can be changed to a first once the contract is done as an example. If I were Bills GM any trade would hinge on conditional picks but also involve players.
  7. ....Hypothetically. Let's say you have cleared 10M dollars after taxes and net present value. Further, you live in a state where your winnings are made known to the public. What do you do? Just read another "horrors of the lottery winner" story and again it comes down to making hard headed decisions. Can you cut out the knuckleheads from your family that will surely lead to ruin? How soon before you make a run to another state in the dead of night to keep the deadbeats away?
  8. Pretty sure that Zay and Foster are subject to the waiver system where the teams with the worst records last season have first dibs. Yeldon had a very mediocre season last year but has had a pretty good camp. No guarantee that any of these guys will be there for Houston like 10 dollar street walkers.
  9. HIs injuries and less than eye popping sack stats would suggest he needs to have a "contract" season this year.
  10. Zay, Murph, Foster, Yeldon are more than a collection of players. NFL personnel people will not approach this as out of kilter optimists or pessimists. They will consider the previously mentioned players at a price and will consider that given the waiver system they will have to let these same players be considered by more than 20 different teams. Also, there is a sticking point in terms of Clowney and the Texans which dampens the value of Clowney. Not saying that it is going to happen but if it does I think it will fall in the middle with a few players that will get cut and a medium to high draft pick.
  11. We are trimming players at a few positions that will likely by signed by other teams. Might as well get something out of them and if we can sign Clowney long term that is a bonus.
  12. Certainly an enticement but the Bills are closer to winning which may make a difference. Also, some guys don't like the South Florida heat and humidity.
  13. Good contract situation with both and the Texans would have considerable leverage in new deals.
  14. I think Murphy, Zay, and a third player along with a late 2020 pick that maybe improves if Clowney hits certain production and recognition levels such as All Pro.
  15. We have value players that will not make the team so this makes sense for the Bills given the timing. We send maybe 3 players and agree to conditional picks. Miami while having some good players also have those players at substantial cap numbers making them less attractive to other teams. Our roster trimming situation makes us a good chance for Clowney to land here.
  16. Easy. Williams can handle the chores that somebody like Croom would be expected to do. As far as I am concerned nobody should be handed a spot at TE other than Foxx and Sweeney. Kroft can go PUP or season ending IR. Croom should be gone and DiMarco should be gone due to lack of fit.
  17. I get that but there was a time many years ago it seemed Gumbel was far better prepared for the non-A games of the week. Maybe he has just lost it mentally. Not everybody's mind is sharp far into old age. I think that Gumbel is still on because for the most part he is smooth and his manner is well suited for football. Contrast that with Jay Randolph who I mentioned previously. Randolph was a golf guy asked to do footballl in my mind and it showed. Reggie Rucker who I also mentioned simply lacked the depth to do a lot of analysis but I don't think that you could accuse him of not trying.
  18. Agreed. Most of these people here were not around for the mid-1980's when we were given the bottom of the barrel routinely in terms of broadcasters. Jay Randolph and Reggie Rucker for example.
  19. Gum-ball has been terrible for nearly ten years now. He always seems ill prepared for the games he is calling. There must be someone out there who is ready to take the leap from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
  20. They still have an army the size of Batavia infesting widely intersecting websites such as this one. The last hope so to speak. Tiberius is on their payroll.
  21. Hillary may out run justice in this life but there will be a judgement day. Given her health it may be sooner versus later.
  22. Right around the time of our SB years it got brought up and the NFL had a policy in place for such a contingency. Aside from the obvious memorializing games scheduled with the deceased club are not counted in the standings.
