Your envy is obvious despite the falseness of your claims. You dream to cancel elections where Republicans could triumph. -

This is a must win game for the Bills.
RochesterRob replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Considering that 12-13 wins is necessary to guarantee a playoff spot they are all pretty much "must win" games. There have been years where an 11-5 team has missed the playoffs. The reality is that we most likely are not going 16-0 so there will be some losses and the Bengals could turn it around at anytime. Pray for a win but don't jump off of a bridge if we lose Sunday. -

Somebody needs to tell Tibs' handlers he has grazed the Russia pasture barren. Time to move on to Green Pastures specifically GangGreen.

The lottery invites its own shenanigans including putting the finger on the scale in favor of certain teams. Just limit the number of trades and high picks that a team can acquire in one cycle of the offseason and in season. Agree that nothing will come of this but will laugh if this investigation was started at the request of Bob Kraft.

[Please Change Title] Cannot hit Tom Brady. Period.
RochesterRob replied to Cynical's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From the statement of Roger Goodell : "For the flagrant foul hit against Tom Brady the league awards all of the Bills future draft picks in perpetuity to the Patriots and fines all players and fans 1 trillion dollars half of which are awarded to the Patriots and the other half to Brady himself. Further, a signed affidavit saying that said offenders will never besmirch the names of Belichick, Brady, Kraft, and Goodell again. Thank you for your support. -

Bills least valuable NFL franchise per Forbes
RochesterRob replied to TroutDog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reports were shortly after the Pegula purchase that the Bills were still valued around 1B dollars rather than 1.4B. Secondly, valuation does not work that way. Even if you want to give credit to the Bills bumping up the value certain teams would have gotten more than a .4B increase. The Cowboys would have gotten the percent increase that the Bills received versus the absolute value. As I understood it the Toronto deal was more or less dead when Ted Rogers died as he was the primary force in that effort. There was nobody there to help get Bon Jovi over the 1B dollar hump and the NFL obviously did not see the value in hunting up partners for Bon Jovi. -

It's more complicated than that. A team in SA or Portland would most likely be worth at least 2.50-2.75B today and more with a new stadium under construction if not complete. The NFL took the long view that success and the increased market reach would produce similar growth in value if the team stayed put. At the time the Bills probably got the benefit of the doubt in terms of Canadian market. I still say that the Pegula's need to throw their weight around that most of Southern Ontario is their territory other than what is within an hour's drive of Detroit (if it matters to that franchise). I did not forget it but am not sure that the NFL consistently recognizes it as firmly Bills territory. As I said a few minutes ago I believe that it factored into the Pegula's purchase approval but worry that the league in need of an expansion fee hit would allow a team into Toronto. Like I said the Pegula's now that they have settled into the NFL should be pushing the notion that Southern Ontario is their territory at every opportunity. -

Don't be fooled by Buffalo's 1.13M Metro. The league would have never approved the Pegula's purchase for such a short market reach. The Pegula's approval happened based on television signals reaching approximately 3M people west of I-81 in New York and some of PA's Northern Tier. 3 million people is not at the bottom of the barrel NFL wise lessening the pressure for a quick relocation to San Antonio, Portland, OR, etc.. -

That and drive through Westfield, Wellsville, Warsaw, and Webster screaming out the window of his SUV that the locals are too poor to have a team. -

I would argue that population reached by television signal reached is most important and where the Bills perhaps get short changed especially when considering Southern Ontario. As to the Pats the Boston Metro is just under 5 million people and then you have to consider other states and cities in New England. New England collectively is a large market and has quite a bit of wealth. Contrast that with Pittsburgh or Indianapolis which have modern stadiums but have far less population to be reached and not overly rich into the country side. JMO. -

They extrapolate heavily from the television contracts. Like I said before I can see Dallas' value in terms of what the Cowboys bring to the bidding. The Pats could decline significantly if Brady hits the wall soon or Bill B loses his magic. I could even see the Pats slip below 3B because the other sports normally command the Boston sports dollar. -

The Packers true market is deceptive. The very SE portion of Wisconsin is Chicago oriented and the Packers have a following in the state of Minnesota as they predate the Vikings by decades. But yes Madison, Milwaukee, etc. are Packer territory. -

As I understand it the NFL and NBA are like apples and oranges. A NBA team is allowed to privatize more of its revenue versus a NFL team with LA being the second largest market in the US. So in that sense the Clippers were sorely undervalued and lack of performance on the court was a very large factor in that during the Sterling days. When the Bills were sold the Pegula's were a motivated buyer that wanted to keep the team in WNY. Were there no motivated buyer the Bills most likely would have struggled to break the billion dollar mark. The Pegula's could enhance the value of the Bills in my mind by asserting that Southern Ontario including Toronto is Bills territory which would increase market size considerably. I think that surveys like this only use US metro areas so that leaves teams like Buffalo and Detroit at a disadvantage. Hopefully, the Bills will not be for sale for a long time and that the Pegula's have a long term plan in place for somebody to succeed them when the unfortunate time comes. -

GB is like Dallas in that it has a firm national fanbase and is a driver in primetime matchups. If this article was done around 1980 or so GB would be a lot lower in relative value. -

Well, it is pent up demand for people who lived and breathed football in their youth. Contacts will drive the appreciation in value and the NFL still allows ownership groups as long as there is one big money individual involved. If the NFL gets too big for its pants and will not allow minor owners and the contracts start shrinking then values will decrease. The possibility of them relocating to a city like London has to play into it. -

I don't see the Bills worth much more than the 1.9 billion dollar figure and that seems generous. The Cowboys have Jerry World and prime time exposure to drive their value which the Bills don't currently have. I would quibble with the value for NE. I see their value to the league declining once Bill B and Brady move on. Dallas benefitted from being good during the early days of football when their games would be on near dinner time for many across the US so many would watch while looking over from the dinner table.
