A very Brady renovation - classic TV re-creations
RochesterRob replied to RochesterRob's topic in Off the Wall Archives
MASH was shot at the FOX ranch a little ways outside of LA. I thought that the steep terrain added for a realistic feel. At the opposite end of that spectrum Little House on the Prairie was shot on similar terrain but different part of Southern California which looks nothing like Minnesota. -

I don't think that you will see anything done with Hogan's Heroes as the show has been mired in PC hell for the better part of the last 20 years. Maybe some guy like Bill Gates building his own Stalag 13 closed to the public but nothing else. -

Good thing. I fear that many kids today see such shows as downright bland and not worth their time. -
My statement applies to more than just this thread but this is probably the best place for it. People are talking about making player moves for a push and just worry that if Buffalo faces NE that the game will be slanted in NE's favor. I see the zebras penalizing the Bills for well over 100 yards to have Tom and Bill in another SB. Let's get another draft and FA period under our belt in 2020 then see what is lacking. Hopefully, this squad could win the SB this year but really think that they will fall short of making the AFCC game.

To be fair Lara has quite a bit less mileage on her than the Brady girls. Maureen looks pretty good just standing there but once she starts talking you can see she is a woman over 60 years of age by looking around the mouth and jaw. Eve is aware she is a woman of late middle age and dresses appropriately for it. No ensemble from forever 21 for her. Susan is still wrestling with the notion of being MILF-y even thought that time has passed for her. She definitely has a rack that she was trying to understate for the special. Barry and Christopher have aged the best IMO. -

Does not have to be a home remodel. It just has to be a recreation of a show that you loved earlier in life. Probably would not have the same effect if done in the Northeastern US that it would in the Southwest. I just mentioned the remodel to get the ball rolling on what people would like to see recreated. -

At some point I am going down to Ticonderoga with a couple friends to check it out. They also have sickbay, engineering, and the transporter room along with a corridor. If F Troop is your thing then why not. I figured before now somebody would re-create Mayberry before the Boomers start dying off. The original site part of Paramount's 40 acre lot was bulldozed many years ago. -

Time for the Dolphins to start racking up a few W's. -

While it was a good job done the station wagon did not fit the rest of the show. As much effort as possible was rendered to make the house look authentic but the custom look of the car was out of place for me. I guess that I would have to use my imagination and envision an episode where Greg wants to rod the car out to the chagrin of Mike and Carol. -
First Real Fall Sunday-Whats for Dinner?
RochesterRob replied to plenzmd1's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Going to be chicken on the grill with some potato salad in addition. Not a lot happening today so maybe the beef stew gets made as well because we all know it's better on the second and third days. I actually get 6 days out of a stew or chili before it starts to turn bad. -
Just wondering if anybody checked out the 4 episode series on HGTV on recreating the set interiors in the home used to show the exterior? Not a big fan of the show growing up but did watch it. Pretty interesting the attention to detail paid to get the look of each room right. I'm assuming the house will be open to tourists at some point. Closer to home there is the painstaking recreation of the USS Enterprise sets from the original series in Ticonderoga, NY near Albany. It would be a long day trip from Buffalo or if you are a leaf watcher a good stop heading to Vermont or New Hampshire. What else should be recreated? How many shows are tied to the locale shown. Many shows had a fairly generic look to a home or business. By the way the Bunker's living room was resurrected for the special shown earlier this year with Tomei and Harrelson as Edith and Archie Bunker.

Have You Ever Been Fired From a Job?
RochesterRob replied to Halloween Land's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yes. I had a similar situation where I confronted the boss but was not fired. It was pretty heated and we were almost nose touching nose like when Sergeant Carter was ripping Gomer Pyle with me being the Sarge. -
I don't think that it is as dramatic with quite a number of other teams. Two hours from Pittsburgh will darn near put you in Cleveland or Cincy depending on direction. Two hours from Philadelphia will put you very deep into Giants territory depending on direction.

I feel pretty much the same. I can't help but feel the Bills played the Oiler's this past Sunday.

People flat out don't want to recognize Buffalo. There are over 3 million people in Western and Central New York alone. At least another 1.5 million between PA's northern tier west of Scranton and southern Ontario. Time for Buffalo to stop being treated like the red-headed step child of the NFL.

Clinton Political Dynasty

My money is on previously undiagnosed heart ailment. Accidents are messy and invite investigation. Normally, investigations don't draw so much as a sniff for your run of the mill deplorable but when the vast right wing conspiracy is bearing down on you............................................ -

Chelsea is quite dimwitted without a protective screen around her so a congressional seat might be the kind of quiet the Clinton's are looking for. Unless Chelsea channels AOC...................... -
Clinton Political Dynasty
RochesterRob replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Given the failure from 2016 I expect that the Clinton's will have more than a dozen paid boosters in each crowd. Heck, they will even pay Tiberius bus fare and boarding for him to be there for a few months. I also expect a very tight media blanket around the Clinton's that will limit the public's view of a Chelsea rally. We will be expected to take them at their word for crowd counts and polling numbers. Just when you thought that the Clinton's could not be more slimy they find another oily mud puddle to jump into. -

I wonder if she made the decision herself or if a little coaxing came her way courtesy of the Clinton's? -

Do you guys still talk to your childhood friends?
RochesterRob replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I don't know that it is about that. I always thought that it was a matter of the Seinfeld observation about having the stink of responsibility on me. I may not be rich but I am definitely not the kind of guy who would wind up on COPS either. What little I have heard is that a lot of them have less than successful marriages or can't get into a good relationship. Most of them are doing well in terms of career. -
Do you guys still talk to your childhood friends?
RochesterRob replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Kind of like me. I have a couple from grade school, a couple from high school, several from college, and several former co-workers. Weird thing is since about twenty years ago women who would never talk to me in high school have come seeking me out. We talk for several minutes then I excuse myself. I am not going to jeopardize my marriage. I have one childhood friend that went to a different school that it gets difficult for me. Had great times but at times he could be a real Richard. I saw him a while back and said I wished he still lived down the road from me. Then I got to thinking about the times he really got me upset about some things. -

A month ago Hillary was nothing to you and now you are a staunch defender. Since we all know you have a puppet master that pulls your strings your puppet master is telegraphing a strong possibility of Hillary getting in on 2020.
