Is it just me or does he look stiff. He's got the size, speed, and power, but from the video it seems like he has no bend. He actually looks a lot like Shaw Lawson in that film except maybe "longer"?

New Jersey Jets fan eat buckets of their own filth on the regular - you'll have to up the insult to reach this cave troll although I doubt he'll be able to understand you.

Going to take a look at your list: Disagreements: 1)Jackson is a pure Enigma of a QB - I'm not sold on him being a Top 10 QB or even a viable passing QB - I want to see him in a non-Greg Roman offense that is still designed to take advantage of his scrambling but not 100% reliant on it. I'll give you a "Maybe" because while I would not build around him as he's being used currently, I wouldn't consider him a waste of talent and would not give up on him 2)Herbert is a Rookie - lets see him repeat and improve before throwing in the top 10 because otherwise you need to throw Burrow in with him. 1 year does not make him top 10 material. 3)Murray - Regressed Hard second half of this year and hasn't wowed me any more than Dak does - Honestly if you made video game characters Dak and Murray would be the same one if you just swapped their throwing and running abilities. I still think Dak has the upper hand on Murray and this may just be a matter of experience due purely to time in the league and relying less on the run. 4) Healthy Garoppolo still didn't put up numbers like Dak and oh... he can't stay healthy - pass. 5) Big Ben, Knees of Iron and Rust, has to get rid of the ball in 2 seconds and can't heave it down field beyond the first 6 weeks of the season..... GTFOH with that troll selection to your top 10 for next year. Agreements to top 10 QBs for next year: Rodgers Brady Mahomes Watson Wilson (Although..... jesus his stats after facing us tanked so hard it's concerning enough to imo put him at the #10 spot) Mayfield Allen Looking at your list - based on numbers and the eye test - I really think Dak is essentially a Mayfield equivalent for skill and ability and what Murray's ceiling is (Which isn't bad).

Rivers is a lock to be in the HoF..... not first ballot - his no rings will prevent that. Rivers has better stats than Big Ben and they came from the same draft. More to the point - people will say - oh it's a different Era.... ok.... who else from 5 years before and after him performed better.... The list is Brees, Brady, Peyton, and in three years Rodgers and Matt Ryan? That would be four first ballot HoFer's and another person in essentially the same boat as him. Who is on pace to eventually knock Rivers (averaged 3937 yds a season) down the list..... Rodgers (Short `12,000),Matt Stafford (Short ~18,000), Matt Ryan (Short ~8000), Russel Wilson (Short ~ 30,000), Jameis Winston (Short ~ 43,000), Deshaun Watson (Short ~ 49,000), Patrick Mahomes (Short ~ 49,000) That's it, that's the list of people that have a shot currently of MAYBE surpassing Rivers. Rodgers and Ryan I can see. Stafford I don't know if he plays long enough in a starting roll. They are also the only three on the list from the same "Era" as Rivers. The next four are 100% from a different "Era" and have a long way to go and a lot of years before they can start to even sniff Rivers accomplishments. Rivers will possibly go down as the second greatest QB to never win a SB, and probably becomes the #1 to never actually reach one.
-
The only reason we won in Indy was because River's couldn't deliver purely because his arm isn't what it used to be - end of discussion - we were lucky to get out of that game with a W. Prime Rivers would have killed us. And you are absolutely insane to think that Dak is NOT a top 10 QB currently and that you'd be looking to upgrade. More to the point I'd love to see you're list of top 10 QBs going into next year. You're being a homer and letting it cloud your judgement.
-
What's you basis for him being overrated beyond you're "personal opinion". Back up your talk with facts/numbers or your argument is essentially moot. By that definition Marino was overrated. So are Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford and Phillip Rivers and Deshaun Watson and Josh Allen because they haven't won anything.

Allen... does he have the Jordan killer instinct?
Rk_Bills86 replied to Negan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Imo - yes he does. The first half of the week 17 Phins game - where he just launched the pass to Brown to put us at 28 points. -
You and the other poster that said essentially the same thing are delusional. Dak- on a team with a great O-Line a prime RB, and a solid D is the most dangerous QB short of Watson that is possibly on the market. Game manager? Are you daft? 2019 - 4900 Yards / 30TDs 2020 - 1850 Yards/ 9 TDs in 5 games Stop being a homer and admit that if Indy had any number of other QBs in the league at the helm that will be on the market this offseason we'd be playing golf.
-
Some of it is injuries - some of it is trying to scheme to specific opponents. To be honest - we've faced some of the toughest match ups for us. KC isn't anywhere near as bad a defensive match for us - and with a health Allen and less than 25 mph winds we should see a huge improvement. That reminds me - in the first KC game with all the wind and rain and with a hurt Allen we had 2 TDs we missed (A Diggs Drop and an overthrow to a wide open John Brown) We didn't score on either of those drives and the game would have been wildly different imo if we had.
-
For the love of all that is holy please don't let Dak end up in Indy. Jerry - please pay him and keep him away from the AFC. I was having a discussion about individual QBs and different scenarios when the idea of Dallas not tagging him a second time came up and I thought of the Nightmare of Dak on an already loaded team.

He's back. WR Jake Kumerow signing to practice squad.
Rk_Bills86 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly - I hope he ends up being in out camp next off season. We went from having arguably the worst WR core to possibly the best/deepest? Keeping him our depth would be: Current Starting 5: Diggs Brown Beasley Davis McKenzie (imo we are keeping him to eventually replace Beasley and Roberts as he's only 25) Roberts is our 6th and Pro-Bowl Returner Backup and/or Depth: Kenny Stills (Good lord what a stash and eventual Brown replacement as someone that's 2 yrs younger and is basically the same - i admit brown is the better of the two but age/health/cost is always a consideration?) Isaiah Hodgins (Was supposedly almost as good as Davis before going on IR) Jake Kumerow (Duke Who?) I mean.... lord have mercy when Beane wants to focus on a position the man goes hard. -
While he would be an improvement here ... does his improvement vs cost pan out for us with the anticipated tight cap

The Saints will be almost $100M over the salary cap next year!
Rk_Bills86 replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Cap isn't set in stone yet - so lets pump the brakes a bit. Additionally - while the NFL is a hard cap - with some monetary fines for going over - some teams can and will go over the cap. The WFT have done so multiple times in the past and the owner just ate the fines. If I remember correctly there is some additional fine print regarding how the cap fines and penalties are given out based on the length of contracts and their weight distribution, and etc.... -
I don't think we need to add another RB to our grouping - personally I like the idea of: - Drop Yeldon - Promote Williams - Moss/William becomes our Chubbs - Motor becomes our Hunt/CE-H The issue is less our RBs and more our blocking scheme and execution blows for anything other than 1-cut runs which plays a LOT better to the strengths of Moss and more practically Williams. We seemed stubborn to start the year and try to force Motor to be a guy up the middle when he doesn't have the size and/ore speed to hit the holes. Better scheming and an off season to implement would be the most ideal option for us to see better RB production and not stress our cap situation or have a questionable draft pick. If he somehow was there for us in RD 2 I would be torn but I can't imagine he would be.

Does the bills success continue without daboll?
Rk_Bills86 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolute best case - The new OC and JA (plus all other players) click and we don't miss a beat - Allen improves again and wins MVP next season becoming the first Bills QB to throw for 5000 yds (short only 456 this year so ~29yds more a game) and at least 40 Tds (short 3) Good case - We get the Packers O last year with year 1 of a new system... It works but clearly lack a familiarity holds us back at times. Slight regression in some areas while we appear to improve in others It then takes off in Year 2 and beyond. Worst case - Someone comes in and tries to employee a system that doesn't fit JA and our weapons. We should honestly be one of the best OC position openings for someone looking to make a name for themselves. Looking at our teams success here are a few things that really stand out: 1) WRs alternate the x/y/z position on plays .... OFTEN 2) We run a TON of formations - the most in the NFL and it's not particularly close 3) We run a TON of motion and pre-determined audibles - we line up in 1 formation knowing full well we'll be switching to a different one - all of this to force the D to show some of their hand based on personnel and scheme 4) Play creativity - man.... I can not imagine what it's like trying to guess what crazy idea Daboll is going to pull.... I think my favorite play even though it didn't work was the Fake HB strong side counter into a Delayed Weak Side TE Screen ..... it only failed because a LB literally fell down trying to follow the HB and when he got up the TE was literally right there 5) Plays designed to give players the ability to improvise beyond the 3-4 second mark and space them out so JA can work different depths - also keeps the CB/S away incase of a scramble. Took me a while to catch onto this - but it's really clear when Allen is running left or right an looks to throw down the sideline - there are multiple options at different depths... constantly. 6) Now that Allen is so lethal with his passing - our designed runs and plays where running is an option are so much more lethal. We don't need Lamar Jackson schemed plays, but the ability to force a D to have to always keep a spy or just bleed yardage and first downs can't be eliminated from our play calling. We should expect to regress slightly - but hope that Allen with another year of self improvement and time to build more chemistry with our weapons improves again. Next year will be the first year he does NOT improve at the same rate he did each year previously (ex: he is most likely not going to throw for 10 more TDS, have a 10% higher comp percentage, and average a QBR 20pts higher in year 4 .... because that would basically break the NFL and realistically there just isn't that much room between his current performance and essentially being video game perfect) -
Dolphins all in on Tua for 2021
Rk_Bills86 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll have to see how well Tua can do with a new OC - but for what it's worth and what i've seen: 1) Can he throw to the right beyond the hash? Looks great throwing to the left (as a lefty) and looks terrible throwing to the right on anything over 5 yards... 2) Can he move in the pocket to extend plays and make the dump offs if he doesn't have a run/escape lane? 3) Can he actually be success in a real NFL offensive system? Yes he has a winning record as a starter, but as teams got more film on him, the more there were able to corral and limit him. Was it just the rookie knowledge gap or is he already at his cap? After years of watching Bills QBs of all different types, my bet would be he is at best a serviceable backup level QB. Doesn't mean he can't improve but he has a clear limitation on his tools. -
he original poster that started this is suffering from "Imposter Syndrome by proxy" As i'm sure you've been informed - it is WAY too early to tell what kind of HC McD is considering it's his 4th year and if you really really want to look at it fairly - it's only his second (year 1 was not "his" team and year 2 was "eat" cap dead space to actually rebuild). Just a few more notes.... Vrabel? A guy who inherited a true playoff team and then got lucky that his bet on Tannehill worked out? He's some amazing coach to you? And you base this on 2 years of coaching (this being his third?).... really.... Also every other coach on that list is someone that is working with a future HOF QB - Minus Shanahan - who .... really? he has one good year and you think he's some coaching guru? Man... it's so great to have a coach that has records of: 6 - 10 4 - 12 13 - 3 5 - 9 (Currently and yes I'm aware of the injury bug for this year). And lastly Belichick .... great coach ... will go down as probably the greatest. BUT - his entire coaching career will be tied to lucking into on of the greatest QBs to ever play that also frequently took pay cuts to allow for other players to get paid and stay. His entire HoF coaching career will forever be tied to a Mo Lewis hit. What McD has done is nothing short of amazing and you can not compare him to half of your list due to longevity while the other half of your list is baseless trash. *Last not: ANDY REID was literally the #1 can't win it all coach prior to last year..... GTFOH

How players make each other look better.
Rk_Bills86 replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So I'm as happy as can be with our top 3 WR... but I have to hold myself back from mentioning the possible monster we are grooming (and supposedly a second one in reserve - and since the players were right about the first one I'm going to take a leap of faith an trust the second is almost as good as the first). I took the time to go back and check the rookie WR stats all the way back to Andre Reed and here are the top rookie WR performances: 1) Lee Evans (our #1 WR from the start basically) 48/74 for 943yds with 9 tds 2) Sammy Watkins (our #1 from the start) 65/128 for 982 yds with 6 tds 3) Andre Reed (I don't know where he was in the pecking order - can someone that was alive fill me in here?) 48/ (N/A) for 637 yds with 4 tds 4) Robert Woods (drafted and used as our #2) 40/85 for 587 yds and 3 tds and our monster in waiting: Gabriel Davis (OUR #4 WR....) 28/47 for 441 yds with 6 tds .... and 3 games to play..... I'm so excited to see what becomes of this kid - we are building up John Brown's eventual replacement. Keep in mind I like Brown and hope he ends his career with us, but he only has 1 more year on his contract, and given his injury history I would almost offer him a new extension contract to lessen the cap hit and keep him on for say, 3 total years. He's slotted to make 9.75m(for the 2021 season) a extension/restructure that say adds 10 million as the signing bonus but puts him on the team to the end of 2023 but makes his 2021 contract money be 1m would be pretty good imo. I know this totally went into a tangent but I want to finish this thought - feel free to ignore: John Brown Current Contract: (age 31) Ends after 2021 - Cap hit of 9.75m - dead cap 1.6m Extension/Restructure proposal Ends after 2023 - total 19m with signing bonus of 10m (age 31) 2021 Cap hit - 1m + (2m minimum or calculated deferred bonus amount - this is dead cap for the year) (age 32) 2022 Cap hit - 4m + (2m minimum or calculated deferred bonus amount - this is dead cap for the year) (age 33) 2022 Cap hit - 4m + (2m minimum or calculated deferred bonus amount - this is dead cap for the year) 2023 possible dead cap 2m max pending prior years deferred bonus amount 2024 possible dead cap 2m max pending prior years deferred bonus amount -
"The Process" isn't something that can be so simply as building a family oriented culture. I alluded to it in a few other posts but its pretty broad. The family oriented aspect is there and 100% important but it is also: - Practice the small things - practice makes perfect - practice makes reflex - Accountability - Next Man Up but also Best Man Up - you can and will be replaced if they think it's better for the team - We are not building a contender.... we are building a champion. Our expectation is Superbowl an no less There are so many little things that have been done in the McD/Beane tenure that are overlooked. Credit to the development, implementation, and showing of the team family and how it extends 100% into each players family. When players are traded or drafted to us wives of our players reach out. But there are other things. There is out sales pitch of "Come to Buffalo and be the best you that you can be" - I think this was on the Embedded series where Beane or McD said some players don't want to commit to long term contracts with Buffalo for one reason or another - but they would be happy to come here for 1 year and ball out to earn a better contract (with us or another team). It's a little late for me to get into all the details and little notes but "The Process" is not a small thing that can be trivialized into such few paragraphs. I think many fans haven't been able to step back and see everything from the drought years to our current years for comparison and it's hard to really appreciate all the changes.

I don't even know how to look up this info going back pre-2000 but it occurred to me that I think Allen is only missing 1 player on the starting 53 in terms of position players that he has NOT thrown a TD pass too. Allen will throw to whoever is open and that is refreshing. (so long as we don't end up with a case of the drops like Pitt has).

How about some Andre Roberts love.
Rk_Bills86 replied to Food_Pyramid_Wrong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if the field wasn't wet he'd have a TD on one of his returns. He had a couple of slips and stutter steps to regain traction that cost him hitting holes just before they closed. Either way - he's going to the pro bowl for a reason. -
Playbooks staying and leaving with Daboll
Rk_Bills86 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be super honest - I think the only thing that really matters with whomever our next OC is - is that they design their plays with pre-snap motion. It is so important to reading a D. That being said - Allen is soaking up everything even when he is getting beat by something new and it's clear that if you show him something for a full game - the next time he'll beat it. Initially he couldn't be zone - then he couldn't beat man - then he couldn't beat cover 0 ..... yeah the basics don't work anymore against him. Honestly McD's D might be the type of D that would give Allen the most fits - zone blitz from the CB/S with A/B gap LB blitz and fakes - all completely hidden until the snap regardless of movement. But.... you know what - he gets to see that in practice weekly - so maybe not. -
To clarify - Contact is allowed within 5 yds... Absolutely mugging a WR is allowed within 1 yard (within reason - you can't choke slam one - See the niners linemen that did so to Diggs last week). Frankly - it's a great play by White. Claypool is a rookie and didn't use his hands to get off the jam. He also got jammed so hard he fell down - I don't think White expected all that force to go straight back - usually a WR will shift one way or another and he has to move. Regardless... That's what you can do to soft or inexperienced WR to dictate a game.

Eppenesa and Phillips Improving
Rk_Bills86 replied to MarlinTheMagician's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good news - we probably don't resign Murphy and save 9 million next year. Bad news - we could really use a younger and cheaper brick wall (Star) and I think he has 2 yrs left on his contract.
