And this doesn't account for the drops and PI that takes away from his stats - At least 3 completions that would have added a minimum of 50 yds. But lets say people don't want to acknowledge the could've/should've/would've - I'll say this and it's absolutely true - Allen goes through his reads - you can see it on a lot of plays - and THAT is what has me excited. He's a rookie and our talent around him isn't exactly that amazing. But for everyone that likes completion percentage - Stafford was at 76% for an extra 4 yds...... Allen passes caught averaged 15.5 yds (that is astounding to read as a Bills fan since Flutie) and Stafford averaged 9.5 (not saying this is terrible). Just some food for thought.

3rd 4th quarter comeback for Josh
Rk_Bills86 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think with Foster emerging as a more consistent weapon, we can probably live with him and jones as our 2/3 - we need a true WR1. Also an O-line and i'll take any running back. -
Where are you on the spectrum??

So it's hard to give an honest answer since we have such a small sample size and a really weak supporting cast around him. There was a stat up about average distance of air traveled by passes - Bills were #2 - which after years of check downs..... is encouraging? I'll say that Allen is playing to win instead of playing to not lose (TT). Yes he misses throws, yes he needs to work on his touch, we knew that was something he'd have to work on coming out of college. Something that most people complain about for young QBs is that they either don't progress through their reads OR are a 1 read and run QB - Allen while he has run - has absolutely been going through his reads, and many times will stay behind the LOS while scrambling to see if the play develops a bit more. I think the word that would described our QB situation should be Encouraged with an * that notes we want to see progress next year with a clear team overhaul coming. Lets put it another way - based on their play to date, I'd take Allen over Bortels, Winston, Darnold, Rosen, Lamar, Tannahill, Flacco(Current condition), Fitz, Sanchez, McCoy, Mullens, and Beathard -
Baldy's Breakdown of Allen vs. Miami

But I mean, receiving 101, work your way back to the QB. he was what, 8 yds deep in the end zone when he started coming back for the ball? Whatever, I could say more about the play - like I like our lineman that got that last little chip on Wake? could have maybe gotten more of him letting Allen feel more comfortable to fully plant and throw- then again i'm just glad it wasn't a flag so i'll take the error on the side of caution. Supposedly Zay was also coming open underneath, but that actually leads me to something that i find interesting - I think John not only goes through his reads, but also looks deeper more often than his check downs. There was a play last week against the jags, I think the one where it was an almost pick - regardless, shady was literally left alone on the right flat - completely unaccounted for and I don't think Allen looked down to see him - for the first time in my life I wish i had All-22 access to review games. -

If Clay just keeps coming back to the ball instead of falling, he catches it. Literally 1 more step before "diving/falling" for it and we win. -
Can someone please go through the tape from this game and give a hard count for [time in the pocket] and a separate listing for passes that were catchable but ended as incompletions? These last two weeks I have been really impressed with what i've seen and would consider it all progress from the start of the year.

Josh Allen to Zay Jones
Rk_Bills86 replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's been said before, but man, Zay has really been improving since the middle of the Packers game. I don't know if he'll ever be a #1, but he looks to be developing into what could be an amazing WR2 -
If anyone watched the game and seriously came away with the feeling that Allen isn't the best QB we've had in a long time - you must not be watching the same game. He was standing in the pocket often today for far longer than I can remember any time this year - ran when he needed to. He is clearly going through his reads, you can literally see it on replays just by watching his eyes. Yes he has missed some throws and needs slightly better touch.....a rookie... looking like a rookie at times, during his rookie year..... imagine that. Give the kid a slightly more consistent Oline (that can run block), go get a BIG WR that can catch or a True #1 - Get us a TE who's knees don't give out when fans hold their breath. Lets see what he can do. Considering his stats and surrounding cast - he has looked the best out of all the rookie QBs(I will admit Baker is looking good but the browns have a better team around him offensively).

Good draft year for TE - along with some solid FA - drop clay and eat the dead cap hit.

This is not the first time refs have been accused of saying things - I remember the Cam thing where the ref supposedly said "you haven't been in the league long enough to get that call" - and even in the broadcast today Lofton said younger qbs don't get certain calls. Record what the refs say - full game - enough of it. NFL has the money.

Charles Clay- the most useless player ever
Rk_Bills86 replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have you seen KB? While I have never been happy with Clay - KB has been even worse, which is hard to imagine. Little better O-line play, 1 Good WR and 1 Good TE and I think we'd be a really competitive team. -
Gaines really wants to get paid but I think a lot of teams are scared of the injuries, not so much affecting his play but his overall time on the field. Was listening to NFL radio on XM and they said a team had high interest but he priced himself out of contention quickly.

Josh Rosen has "Bust" written ALL over him.
Rk_Bills86 replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was the exact review that literally had media members laughing at it. They thought that the person who wrote it should be fired for being grossly inaccurate. -
Really hope he stays. Fingers crossed

New Mock Draft AT (After Tyrod)
Rk_Bills86 replied to billsbackto81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ragnow can play Guard as well. Incognito and Groy aren't exactly spring chicks. This would be a dream draft. I will admit I'd be curious to see how far down Price slides with his injury. -
The "We have too many holes" argument
Rk_Bills86 replied to ColdFront_USAF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Frankly, it doesn't matter if we trade up and draft a QB if he has no one worth throwing to and the OC doesn't develop around the QBs strengths. I will say that our WR group is interesting and probably underrated if you had someone monster pure pocket passer throwing to them. That being said, a good OC can take a turd and make it look like a diamond - RG3. Tyrod may never be Brady or Rivers or Brees, but he was grossly misused in our offense for 2 of his 3 years. I do think that this year is a good year to trade up due to the amount of picks we have AND having Glenn as an additional bargaining chip. Moving to #2 would be hard, but the Giants are really in need of an o-line. If the Browns go RB at 1, i think the bills could trade one their 1st,2nd,3rd this year + Glenn or both 1st rounds and Glenn for the jump up. I would also be ok with Bridgewater, Keenum, or Foles (I would trade a 2nd and 3rd for Foles without hesitation). -
So I know this is a QB thread. I would take either for that price. For those saying Roquan Smith, how does he compare to Tremaine Edmunds? I've seen some tape on Edmunds and have been extremely impressed. To quote a few reviews he is "Hard to Ignore" when watching tape.

I mean, I literally just did that draft on FanSpeak. If you consider what this guy says about the QB situation, whats wrong with who I drafted? Was I heavy on the Safeties and Corners, sure, a little bit. But we have injury issues, and little depth and a possible opening on the one side. Again, if we don't draft a QB, tell me why my draft is SOOOOOO terrible.

So, I love doing drafts as well. Here was one I just ran (Note: I don't bother with trades up or down, because who the hell knows- I also would really like Teddy Bridgewater for QB, i hear all this negative stuff about him... The guy went 11-5 and was clearly improving - I could not get a good QB with the way the draft played out, so I went with a sleeper) 21: R1P21 DL MAURICE HURST MICHIGAN 22: R1P22 LB TREMAINE EDMUNDS VIRGINIA TECH 53: R2P21 OT JAMARCO JONES OHIO STATE 56: R2P24 WR CHRISTIAN KIRK TEXAS A&M 95: R3P31 RB NICK CHUBB GEORGIA 123: R4P21 QB KYLE LAULETTA RICHMOND 160: R5P21 EDGE MARCELL FRAZIER MISSOURI 168: R5P29 G BRADEN SMITH AUBURN
