  1. We’ll never know of course, but Norman was likely cut largely because of the cap savings; not necessarily because Rivera doesn’t think he can play. Likewise, we wouldn’t be interested in him at his previous contract but could theoretically be interested at a cheap salary.
  2. He’s one of the best football writers out there IMO Domino’s is a good bang for the buck but that’s it. I pretty much lived on it in college because you could get a (decent) pizza for $5 versus paying $10-15 for slightly better pizza elsewhere. If you have great pizza nearby I’d splurge for that pretty much every time (or just make my own).
  3. Aren’t they on the hook for a ton of dead cap if they move him? Not to mention he’s still a very good QB.
  4. The high school times are almost never remotely accurate. Probably was more like a 4.65-4.70 in high school and has probably improved his speed since then with training. Whether that’s enough to actually run around a 4.55 we shall see.
  5. I think Dak is roughly a top 10 QB and appears to be improving still. Think the ideal course of action for Dallas would have been to prioritize the 3 current FAs: Dak, Amari, and Jones rather than Zeke and Jaylon Smith. But here we are; they gave big contracts to probably the two least valuable of the big 5 and seem poised to at least lose 1 of the top 3.
  6. That’ll be up to a coaching staff and front office to decide. Think it really boils down to how convinced you are that he can be taught. If he learns to read a defense, he could be an MVP caliber QB IMO.
  7. Love is the ultimate high risk high reward prospect. Great passing skills but he legitimately doesn’t even attempt to read the defense on most plays. Tremendous potential inside him if he can learn though.
  8. XFL.com or their mobile app is where you need to go. Not sure if they're hoping that will give the site some traffic or something.
  9. I still have Eason and Anthony Gordon to grade, but as it currently stands, my grades on this year's QB class are: 93 - Joe Burrow (behind only Mahomes and tied with Lamar for my highest grades of the past 4 years) 92 - Tua Tagovailoa (Top 10 pick) 86 - Jordan Love (Top 15 pick) 80 - Justin Herbert (fringe 1st round) 79 - Jake Fromm (2nd round) 77 - Jalen Hurts (3rd round) 72 - Shea Patterson (5th round)
  10. I'm not sure. Lamb is enough to test my "Never trade up" mantra and this trade doesn't seem all that bad. Having said that, the WR class is strong enough that I think I'd lean towards just staying at 22 or trading down. I'd understand if we did pull the trigger though.
  11. Might have to tune in to the NY Guardians game today. Seems unlikely, but I'm hoping to get to see Luis Perez at QB and am curious to see how my old undrafted RB crush Matt Colburn does.
  12. I still don't have a great grip on the rules of it, but the basic gist is that there's four goalposts at each end; you want to get the ball between the middle two goalposts (6 points). The outer goalposts are 1 point so the defense will sometimes purposefully put the ball through their own outer goalpost to sacrifice 1 point instead of allowing 6. You move the ball in one of three ways: (1) dropkicking it to a teammate, (2) punching the ball to a teammate, and (3) dribbling the ball (and keep in mind it's shaped like a rugby ball so not super easy). And it's played on a field roughly twice the size of an NFL field. Here's a highlight video:
  13. She's not into rugby either; Australian Rules Football is a completely different sport. It's huge in Melbourne where she grew up; like half the teams are based in Melbourne.
  14. She's from Australia...their version of football is constantly moving so it makes american football look slow and boring by comparison (in her and many Australians' opinions). Hates baseball for the same reason, though she'll go to a baseball game for the food and relaxing atmosphere. As for basketball, it's really because we went to Syracuse so she got into it since it's huge there. And since she got into watching Syracuse basketball, she can handle watching the Bucks NBA games with me occasionally.
  15. Mine is a blessing and a curse...she likes sports (yay!) but absolutely despises american football. She will at least watch college basketball and occasionally the NBA with me though.
  16. I'm not a diehard soccer fan, but I went to check the new stadium out when Rooney was playing there and it was honestly really awesome. Nothing quite like a soccer crowd, even in the US. I just bought a house in DC so maybe I'll end up checking the Defenders out if the tickets aren't too bad (assuming the league survives). Seems like it could be fun.
  17. I’ve been a DC Defenders fan since Day 1. Hope this is finally the year for my squad.
  18. I’d be perfectly fine with signing Funchess assuming it’s a cheap deal. No real harm in it and he’d at least give us some coverage as far as a big red zone target goes.
  19. I can’t remember if it’s this year or the next, but oí vaguely remember Marqise Lee and Hayden being cut-able guys for them as well.
  20. We’ll see if he actually makes it to Syracuse. Sounds like the current belief is One and Done rule remains in place until at least 2023 if not longer. Still a long time for that to change or for him to decide to go somewhere/do something else but obviously a gigantic win if we keep him. Sounding like we’ll have some more commitments to celebrate soon too.
  21. Supposedly he's the main source that people have been quoting when they talk about Eagles players wishing they had kept Foles over Wentz. Re: the OP, I floated Jeffery as a potential target as well. I think it would make a lot of sense for us and some sense for Philly if those rumors are true.
  22. You're missing the context. He's saying Shenault would be the final piece to an already explosive offense and because we are not an explosive offense, he is not a good fit for us. He thinks he would be a good final piece for the Packers or Saints and says we need a building block, which Shenault is not.
  23. The thing is, Shenault doesn't really use that size aside from his contact balance. He's not particularly good at getting off press coverage or making contested catches, which is really what people are looking for when they're thinking of the desire for a big WR. A smaller player like Jalen Reagor is better in all those areas than Shenault is. That's his point. He's saying Shenault is more of a finishing touch to an offense and we are not there yet. Edit: Not saying I agree with that necessarily, but that's what he's saying.
  24. Breida is a free agent isn't he? And Brown is definitely not the speedy variety. I would gladly take any of those 4 guys though. Arizona is reportedly releasing DJ (doesn't necessarily mean they'll sign Drake though).
