  1. Henry-mania. It's swept the nation, not just here. I'm only taking Dillon if it's like 7th round or undrafted personally.
  2. Hopefully Dillon's performance today helps push a better prospect down to us.
  3. That was my immediate thought too lol. The other stuff all makes sense though, though I’m higher on Pittman than the rest of the world apparently is
  4. My dream would be to still get AJ. Think he's pretty much perfect; we can give him a big short-term contract now and basically wash him off our cap sheets by the time we really need the money. I don't expect him to come here though. Absent that, I'd probably be calling teams to see if anyone is available for trade; would obviously depend who it is. If we have to go the free agency route (and assuming AJ is off the table), I'm fine with it being an unexciting move like Funchess, Geronimo, Agholor, Paul Richardson, etc. If I had to pick one, I'd probably go for Richardson. Mims can get there, but you'll see when you put his film on...he's about as polished as Metcalf was, maybe less. And certainly is not the press-beating machine that Metcalf was. I would absolutely love to take a chance on Mims, but I need us to have a starting option ahead of him.
  5. TLDR, Pauline spoke to teams last night/this morning and came back with the following: Justin Jefferson is now on the Round 1 radar. Denzel Mims is locked in as a 2nd rounder. Michael Pittman could be a late 2nd rounder. Teams were disappointed in CeeDee Lamb's athleticism. Laviska Shenault expected to be a 2nd rounder. Jalen Reagor is still on the 1st round radar, but teams want to see how he times at his Pro Day. They say he was laser-timed in the low 4.3's in the lead up to the Combine.
  6. I think it's pretty imperative that we do. Not bringing in another vet that can start (even if it's just someone cheap and not special like Funchess) would create the need for a WR that can step in and start right away, meaning you can probably cross some of the interesting guys (Denzel Mims, Laviska Shenault, Justin Jefferson) off the list. I'm definitely hoping that we sign/trade for someone so that we have all options open to us in the draft.
  7. I'd be fine just bringing Shaq back, but I think a guy like Adrian Clayborn or Robert Quinn offers us an upgrade without breaking the bank.
  8. He's the only prospect we interviewed at both the Senior Bowl and the Combine so far. I would say we're definitely showing interest in him.
  9. I think that would probably require having two 2nd round picks, which is doable, but obviously we'd need to make a trade to make that happen.
  10. To be fair, the contested catch rates are generally small sample size since offenses are much more spread in college. For Jefferson, he caught 12 of 13 contested passes.
  11. I think safety is a pretty decent need; just not necessarily for this upcoming season. But either Poyer or Hyde will be gone soon and this is a good spot to get their replacement. Bonus points with Dugger because you can use him in other spots to fill in some gaps too. It'll depend on what's available at #22; I don't really expect there to be an OLineman worth taking (I assume Beane wants to keep Ford at OT despite what he's said in the media and as mentioned before, it's a weak class for guards). That basically leaves WR, Edge, and CB as the relatively pressing needs. We can get the same quality WR in the 2nd as we do at #22 and we'll likely somewhat address it in free agency anyways. I think we'll address at least one of CB/edge in free agency if not both and don't necessarily think the corners and edge guys are worth the pick personally; certainly think you can argue for the safeties being on par if not better prospects than the options we'll likely have at corner and edge.
  12. If not Dugger, there's Delpit, Davis, Winfield, possibly McKinney if he makes it that far. #22 is a good spot for a safety, but I think it's pretty clear Buffalo likes Dugger a lot. He has some developing to do, but Buffalo is the perfect place for that with Frazier/McD coaching him and Hyde/Poyer ahead of him on the depth chart and Dugger offers a combination of skills none of the other safeties do. I don't know what to make of Biadasz draft stock; I remember he was thought of as possibly the best IOL in the draft coming into the year. Seems like this is perceived as a really weak class for IOL and he's stumbled with Cesar Ruiz establishing himself as the #1 guy.
  13. IMO, I'm looking at Round 2 for my first WR and probably round 4, possibly in a trade up, for my 2nd. Something like this that I just did at The Draft Network would be great and is at least decently realistic (for now at least, obviously a lot of time for draft stock to change still): This assumes we've signed/traded for a WR that is capable of starting (even if it's just someone like Devin Funchess or Geronimo Allison or something like that) and that we've either brought Shaq back or signed a replacement for him so that we aren't relying on Alton as a starter from Day 1.
  14. Sort of. I grew up in a family of Bills fans and spent my childhood going to training camp in Rochester and watched their games on TV with the family all the time, but Tampa Bay was my favorite team growing up. After I moved away, I basically used the Bills as a way to maintain a strong connection with my family and cousins and stuff and eventually Buffalo became my favorite team. I still watch Tampa a good amount and root for them as long as they aren't playing the Bills, but the Bills are the team that I make sure I don't miss any games for.
  15. I think safety is definitely something to keep an eye on in the first round. Expected to be a lot of good safety options in our draft range and not much after it.
  16. I think we might end up needing to trade up in the 2nd to get him which I'm a bit iffy about. I also don't think he'll really help much next season, so if we decide to go with him as our first WR pick in the draft, we need to acquire an established starter through free agency/trade IMO. There's some very serious untapped potential in him though and it'll really depend on how quick he's able to tap into that. If he works on beating press coverage this offseason, he could end up playing a DK Metcalf role for us, but he's behind Metcalf from a developmental perspective right now.
  17. Going back to my list again: McLaurin - 58 yards per game his senior year and 33 per game over his career. Ended up going in the 3rd and was a stud this year. DJ Chark - One year of okay production, went in the 2nd, and was very good this past season. Michael Thomas - Averaged 56 yards per game the two years he played a lot in college. Went in the 2nd and is obviously incredible. Mike Wallace - Averaged 60 yards per game his senior year. Ended up going in the 3rd and was good. Tyreek Hill - As I mentioned, he basically didn't do anything at all in college.
  18. I have Jefferson ahead of Higgins personally, but they don't really fill the same hole. Jefferson is a projection out wide; he was mainly utilized as a big slot in college. As we learned from Zay, it's not always easy to transition out wide. Higgins is already ready to line up out wide on Day 1.
  19. What exactly do you mean by average WR? A lot of times, you have cases like DK Metcalf for example where the raw production wasn't really there in college but the underlying metrics were. Edit: Other examples of guys that didn't have a lot of raw production in college and tested extremely well: DJ Chark Tyreek Hill (averaged like 40 receiving yards per game at West Alabama) Kind of Michael Thomas (he didn't test as a freak but he tested in like the 80th percentile of WRs) Mike Wallace (had like 3 or 4 1000 yard seasons in the NFL after never hitting 800 yards in college) Steve Smith Terry McLaurin
  20. I’m probably on team #TradeDown, but we also have to be careful. If we don’t sign/trade for a starting caliber WR, we risk going into the season once again with two WRs that are ready to be significant contributors. I don’t think Mims and Shenault for example would address our need for a starter as a rookie despite being a worthy consideration in the 2nd round.
  21. Figured I'd let you guys know that I had posted this over on Buffalo Rumblings. Here's the blurb explaining everything in it. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2020/2/28/21157354/breakdown-of-wr-prospect-metrics-as-well-as-some-other-goodies And here's a direct link to the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EGcKt-3OhHND7shQmY9LREGwBxtnUcFwQtQDz2U-3tk/edit?usp=sharing Essentially... 1st tab = Positional Rankings from Matt Miller combined with the schools that we've scouted to see a color-coded map of which positions we've scouted the most, who we've scouted, where they rank, etc. 2nd tab = List of prospects that we've met with at the Senior Bowl, Combine, etc. and where they rank at their position. 3rd tab = Breakdown of all the WRs using a combination of metrics from PlayerProfiler.com, Pro Football Focus, and the NFL Combine. This is color-coded relative to their peers so you can see who stands out in each category. I also have additional tables in there where I split them up based on WR type so you can see how all the slot WRs compare to one another, how the wideouts compare, etc.
  22. It’s my hands for me from playing basketball growing up. I can warn my friends when rain is on its way because my knuckles stiffen up and I can’t call anyone a loser with my finger and thumb because I can only make a J instead of an L lol
  23. Between the 40 and the initial gauntlet run, it was a tough stretch there for Reagor. He's settled in pretty nicely now though.
