  1. Gruden has basically no history of targeting players like Ruggs (though it's possible his philosophies have changed as the league has evolved). He's generally favored bigger WRs.
  2. Bummer that AJ is off the table, but not surprising. We need to acquire another vet WR either via free agency or trade IMO. The free agents I'd be looking at are: Paul Richardson Taylor Gabriel Devin Funchess Chris Hogan Obviously none of these guys are terribly exciting but we need someone that is capable of starting so that we aren't in desperate need of a rookie WR that can start right away. I'm still hoping for a trade but if need be, these guys would do the trick without breaking the bank.
  3. This was like 10 regimes and an owner ago. I think Ruggs could be in play for them because I think teams may view him as the #1 WR prospect in the draft, but the "he's fast, so he must be a Raider" thing is so overplayed.
  4. I would guess Mariota and Stidham fight for the starting gig if Brady leaves (which I still don’t expect even though media is portraying it as a near certainty).
  5. I almost certainly would, but I don't think Beane would. I think this draft is likely perfect for a trade-down for us barring something unforeseen happening ahead of us.
  6. Obviously can’t speak for Beane, but having no picks between the 2nd and 5th rounds is too much for me, especially with this draft class. My guess is we stay at 22 and Beane uses the extra Day 3 picks to move up in the 3rd or 4th round.
  7. 3rd worst drop % in the league for RBs on the catchable throws. It was a struggle for him. Obviously a steep learning curve there and hope he improves in year 2 because he’s elusive as hell if we can get him the ball in the open field.
  8. My boy Luis Perez starting at QB for NY today!
  9. It’s not impossible but I think you’re setting yourself up for disappointment if you think he’ll trade down.
  10. I agree, but this just isn't Beane's MO. He's going to trade up at some point in the draft.
  11. I'd rather sign Kevin Johnson for the money he'll get than Bradberry if $15m is the actual price for him. Byron Jones, Tre, etc., $15m is justifiable. I think my defense is in trouble if Bradberry is my highest paid player.
  12. I don't understand when or why people began to think Bradberry is an elite corner.
  13. That's the rub with taking any RB in the first round. They're probably only good value when they're on their rookie deal, but if you only expect to use them on their rookie deal, it probably isn't worth it to begin with.
  14. I think he's draftable; I just personally am not interested in being the team that does it. For the Bills, I'm looking for: Receiving ability & pass blocking ability Home run ability Comfort running with spread personnel With regard to Dillon: Non-existent in the passing game and struggled the few times they did try to involve him. 3rd worst in the class in terms of breakaway % (% of yards made up of 15+ yard runs). No evidence of it; BC is pretty much solely running 22 personnel and other packages like that. Ultimately, the only thing he really proved in college is that he can churn out tough yards out of crowded formations which I'd generally like to minimize anyways. Everything else is either a weakness or completely unproven. If you're a team like Tennessee that wants to play that way anyways or you're a team that wants a guy purely for goal line carries and similar situations, I think he makes sense. That just isn't something I want to invest a draft pick in.
  15. I disagree. I don’t think speed is really all that necessary with RBs; it’s more of an added bonus.
  16. I agree with the idea that a trade up is more likely. I just don't like it lol. Unless we're talking about like moving up from 22 to 20 or something and even then, I'm iffy on it. But trading up is Beane's MO and it's a guarantee he'll do it at some point in the draft since we have those extra Day 3 picks that he won't use.
  17. I really hope we don't take a RB in the first, but if we did, I would tend to prefer Swift. Taylor does look like a really good runner though.
  18. Akers, Edwards-Helaire, and McFarland were the three that stood out to me in the on field drills (outside of the 1st round guys). Speaking of first round guys, Taylor did a good job catching the ball after that was a pretty major concern; he seemed stiff/slow running the routes though.
  19. Right lol. I think I might be able to keep pace with Becton (and I'm nowhere near half his size) but knowing Wirfs would blow me away is terrifying. No interest in taking a RB in the 1st personally. Would be a nice pairing though.
  20. Watching Wirfs run the 40 was genuinely scary. Saw a report today that he's aiming to get $10 million per year ? I like this Duce Staley drill; helps show the difference between the straight-line speed guys and the short area quickness guys. Akers and Edwards-Helaire really stood out while Dillon and the guy from Washington struggled.
  21. Really just depends on what you want in a RB. Taylor is a great one-cut runner but is generally considered pretty terrible as a receiver. Might be a better runner than a guy like D'Andre Swift, but Swift is a very good receiver and his supporters would say his all-around skillset makes him the better prospect.
  22. The reason Edwards-Helaire would be a good compliment is because he's a weapon out of the backfield as a receiver while also being a good runner. Singletary hasn't really shown he can be a good receiver. If you intend to end up with someone like CEH, you're hopefully finding a home run hitter in free agency somewhere to pair with the two of them.
  23. I couldn't be much less interested in Dillon. He's pretty much only good for running in a straight line out of 22 personnel and similar groupings. Just isn't the kind of offense I want to be running and I don't think he'd really offer much value even on those plays. If we're going to draft a RB, I want a guy that's either a versatile runner, a home run hitter, or a 3rd down back. Dillon is none of those things.
