Am I the only one sick of the DAK
DCOrange replied to Behindenemylines's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In my opinion they already screwed the pooch by giving Zeke his contract. He was the obvious choice to let go to maintain cap flexibility. Having said that, with the way the NFL salary cap is, I honestly think they'll be able to make it work just fine as long as they draft well. -

I think these two posts kind of point to the difference between absolute potential and probable peak. Seems like Biscuit is more focused on the probable peak, which is likely lower than what Dak is right now, whereas Gunner is talking about pure potential if Allen becomes as good as someone with his tools can be. I think both are totally reasonable takes; at this point I think it's probably unlikely that Allen becomes as good as Dak currently is, but I don't think it's impossible either. And with Allen's work ethic and physical tools, I think he has a better chance than your ordinary young QB of defying the odds and becoming an elite QB. -
Washington Redskins: 15 women claim sexual harassment

Of course, but you have no idea when you say those things if they are or are not welcome. In a workplace, you have to assume they are not, especially considering someone that simply overhears it can be the person that treats it as unwelcome versus the person actually on the receiving end of the comment. -

Um, yeah, that's pretty much the definition of sexual harassment. -

My company is too large for me to really say, but my department at least is nothing like what this article describes (at least as far as I know). But even then, I vividly remember at our holiday party that a coworker grabbed another coworker's ass. I didn't personally see it but I heard the woman say "oh my god he just grabbed my ass" either to herself or to another coworker. And I know some of my friends haven't been as relatively lucky as me in that regard either. Quite a few have been pretty much scarred including at least two that ended up quitting their jobs because it was so bad. -

Yeah, I gotta imagine this is an issue for probably the majority of teams out there. Hell, it's still an issue for a ton of companies outside the sports world too. You can even tell just by some of the comments in this very thread. -
Based on what's been leaked so far (and some of it has proven to be incorrect, so maybe others will be too), it looks like an 80-81 would slot Edmunds in around 18th or 19th best at the LB position. Also, White was revealed to be a 90 overall instead of an 89 and 5th best in the game after initially being reported as an 89.

Washington Redskins: 15 women claim sexual harassment

The article literally has the text messages in some of the cases and a few of the men that were mentioned in the story were fired/retired before the news broke. I think the idea of the story being false is already out the window. -

Everyone I know was partly sad this story wasn’t as big as expected because they’re nervous Snyder will survive -

Man some of the quotes in that article...like, I'm not surprised at all just because I know there's toxic people out there, but man I would absolutely hate myself if I ever behaved like the people being accused allegedly did. To be fair, I'm guessing your company has an HR department. This article mentions that they did not and that their legal team just tried to bury evidence of misconduct -

Yeah, I think those 3 and Wentz are the only ones that are arguable. Kyler and Burrow could join that list in the future but for now at least, he's at worst the 5th best QB since the Andrew Luck draft and I might even argue that he's possibly #3. -

Agreed that NFL MVP Cam was better than Dak has been to this point, but that's true of almost every QB in the NFL. Also not really a big deal, but just for the record, Cam's weapons in the passing game the year they went to the Super Bowl were Greg Olsen, Ted Ginn, and Jerricho Cotchery. And even outside of the passing game, his RBs were Jonathan Stewart (who failed to hit 1000 yards) and Mike Tolbert. It was one of the worst skill position collections in the league. -

I was mostly being sarcastic in my post; I think the bolded is probably true/it's possible Snyder didn't care so much about winning but simply wanted to hit on spread picks. I don't know. -

To be fair, assuming Snyder wouldn't pay them to rig it for Washington to lose, it seems like the refs might not have actually taken him up on his offer lol I think the current belief at least is that the lawyers are trying to prevent WaPo from releasing the article in addition to the damage control that they leaked to Schefter. -
His length allows him to disrupt passes that other guys wouldn't be able to, but I think his height also has a tendency to work against him trying to stay with guys as they make their cuts. I don't think he's particularly great in either area right now honestly but he shows flashes of it for sure. Also, you're bound to get a mix of opinions when you ask 50 guys to rank players. The question about his ability defending the pass probably comes from a few guys and there were also questions about how he fills run gaps from some others.

1st quarter: 133 attempts, 805 yards, 4 TDs/3 INTs 2nd quarter: 168 attempts, 1473 yards, 12 TDs/4 INTs 3rd quarter: 124 attempts, 1268 yards, 7 TDs/0 INTs 4th quarter: 171 attempts, 1356 yards, 7 TDs/4 INTs It doesn't really look at all like he piled up his numbers at the end of games at all. The only outlier is the 1st quarter. -

Not sure why anyone would really be surprised. There's not much else going on in the sports world right now since we're in this no man's land of no games being played but also no real offseason news to talk about. So yeah, a top 10 QB (and specifically, a top 10 QB that fosters a ton of debate) potentially playing on the franchise tag is as close to a big story as there is right now. I'm not really sure why anyone would be all that annoyed; it's pretty easy to just ignore the story if you want to. It's not like there's any real reason to tune into ESPN and accidentally see them discussing Dak right now. The Dak debates are admittedly boring at this point as everything that can be said has been said many many times but I'm not mad at the media for trying to latch onto anything at all that they can talk about right now. -

I think one of those NFL aggregator accounts on Twitter had said that Josina Anderson said nobody wanted to say anything before WaPo publishes it because lawyers are already involved and nobody wants to get in that mess. -

DC fans might not be the most diehard out there but it’s still a large market in general and the football team itself has a ton of fans around the country. As of this past year, Forbes ranked them as the 14th most valuable sports franchise in the world (5th highest NFL team). Certainly the current environment wouldn’t be selling at the peak of its value but it’s still a team a lot of people would love to own and whoever replaces Snyder would instantly be the most popular person in the DC area. -
New Era name to be dropped from Stadium

Won’t be UnderArmour. They’re struggling as is and trying to get out of their own licensing deals. They got a PPP loan to pay for roughly 480 employees and then got down to 480 employees. They were at least honest about their intentions with the loan unlike a lot of other companies. They didn’t do anything wrong (at least as far as the PPP goes). They’re just a struggling company right now. -

He's a DC/Baltimore based reporter, and more importantly, it's EVERYONE in the DC area talking about it. He wasn't the first. -

I don't think any details have been made public yet, but this article includes a bunch of the people talking about it: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/07/15/buzz-grows-of-a-looming-report-about-the-washington-franchise/ -

If that story is true, then it seems pretty straight-forward. The team name that they want to go with is already trade-marked and they're trying to acquire the rights. What LaCanfora and many other DC-based media people are talking about is something criminal. I'm not going to speculate about the rumblings I've heard just in case they're wrong, but if they're right, it's pretty horrifying. Last I heard, the Washington Post is expected to break the news at some point this week, possibly tomorrow. -

Again, that has nothing to do with JLC's tweet.
