And Girard himself
-
Yes, there’s definitely a risk of him leaving. The current sentiment seems to be that we aren’t really expecting him back but he isn’t a lock to leave. Dolezaj, Sidibe, Griffin, and Newton are pretty much considered locks. Other people are hearing Guerrier is likely out and Kadary might be; I personally haven’t heard anything about either.
-
They both are in all likelihood. We’re going to have 4-6 guys to replace this offseason.
-
You go to Syracuse for college and you’ll find half the campus are Jets fans lol. I live in DC now but most of my friends are Jets or Pats fans.
-
Every Jets fan I know says it’s a lock that they’re taking Wilson so I guess we’re at an impasse lol
-
I don't know about Atlanta but I think it would make a ton of sense for them to take one or a lot of sense to trade down if not. Seems like it's an open secret that the Jets have already decided to take Zach Wilson.
-
There is definitely a chance. In all likelihood, the QBs are going top 4. Then it comes down to Sewell, Pitts, and Chase at #5 and Cinci could go with any of those guys there.
-
They can still almost certainly get Bateman at 18 if not one of the top 3 WRs (and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if one of the top 3 makes it there).
-
It's still just free value to them though. Also with that division I don't think it's any guarantee that pick doesn't end up being a mid-1st or better.
-
They got an extra 1st and 3rd round pick and still get the guy they wanted.
-
If I were in their shoes, I take Sewell or Pitts at 6 and then go WR at 18 and suddenly your supporting cast around Tua is a lot better. Seems like they'll likely go WR at #6 though which is a mistake IMO.
-
Great day for Phins fans. Pick up an extra 1st and 3rd while still getting their guy; impressive stuff. Obviously have to hope Tua pans out still but it's way too early to give up on him after a solid rookie year, especially considering what he was returning from and how bad his supporting cast was.
-
Yes there is expected to be decent value at CB available at 30.

I think it's mostly wishful thinking from people that didn't want a RB in the draft in the first place (myself included). We're already likely looking at cutting/trading/deactivating one of our talented RBs as is. It's certainly possible that we draft one of the top RBs and then cut Breida and trade/cut Singletary but I'm really hoping that isn't the way we use our draft picks.
-
I'm hoping this means I don't need to worry about burning another early pick on a RB but we'll see. If the plan is to dress 3 RBs on gameday like we did this past year, I'm curious to see how this plays out. You'd think Moss will be a lock and you'd think Taiwan would be active for special teams so that only leaves one spot for Singletary/Breida unless one of them becomes a special teamer.

He ended up being the #2 guy when healthy but he dealt with injuries for most of the season last year. Sprained his MCL around Week 7 or so and had a lingering hamstring issue the rest of the year.

I want on a binge of Syracuse games (and watching the Cubs World Series TV broadcasts for the first time) at the beginning of the pandemic when we didn't have any sports to watch. Teams like the 2003 team and the MCW Final Four team looked like they were playing a totally different sport from what we saw last year and most of this year. They ran the floor so much and were just everywhere defensively. Our defensive intensity so far in the tournament has been a really pleasant surprise. I can't imagine he'll actually leave early, but I wouldn't be surprised if Buddy tests the waters this offseason to get feedback from NBA teams.
-
The OP specifically says WR group, so I'm personally ignoring the tight ends. Need to wait and see what the WR groups look like when the offseason is over IMO. If the Bucs bring Antonio Brown back again, which seems increasingly likely, I think that locks Tampa in as the #1 group in football. Two of the top 10 or so WRs in the league, Brown is still very good, and solid depth behind them with Miller and Johnson. I would probably go: Tampa (assuming they bring AB back, probably down to #3 if not) Buffalo Dallas Arizona NY Giants Cleveland Pittsburgh Jags definitely are nowhere near #1 but it is a talented group there. Conley just signed with Houston though.
-
They could have made the cap work in other ways without getting rid of probably their best corner. There seems to have been something else going on there though.
-
He's certainly a good player. I don't really know what led to them trying to trade him/cutting him so I'd want to know what that's all about but assuming there's no major issue there, I wouldn't be surprised if he's out of our price range. If he's willing to take like $4 mil or less, I'd probably be interested.

Anybody up for Rondale Moore in Buffalo?
DCOrange replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in College Football
I feel comfortable saying that if he or Iffy Melifonwu are available at our 2nd round pick, they should be the choice. I tend to think someone will take Rondale much earlier than that. Iffy I think there's a real chance but we'll see. I'd be comfortable taking Rondale at #30 too but I don't expect us to go that route at this point. Joseph Ossai is firmly on my radar for #30. I'm sure I'll add others to the list as the draft gets closer but that's kinda where my head is at with those 3 prospects right now. -
Yeah, it was one of those situations where player and coach just disagreed on how he should be utilized. Oshae thought he needed to play on the perimeter more to prove that his game could translate to the NBA and Boeheim wanted him inside because that was so clearly where he was at his best for us.
-
I totally forgot about Griffin, but yes, I do think he has a chance at the NBA. I think he may be transferring out of Syracuse at the end of the year though. I fully expect Guerrier to test the NBA waters and see what his stock is looking like before he decides whether or not to return. I'm not confident he'd be drafted this year though so I'm pretty hopeful we'll get one more year out of him. I don't think he hates it here the way Brissett did so I don't think he'll rush himself to the NBA if he looks unlikely to be drafted. Edit: Lydon and McCullough were viewed as likely 1st round picks so it made a lot of sense for them to go pro. Grant was a potential 1st rounder and a lock to be picked and his family needed the money so he left. Brissett just didn't like it here and didn't think he was developing the way he needed to so he figured he might as well try his luck with professional coaches/training programs.

I'll be surprised if Kadary doesn't end up on NBA radars either next year or the year after. His defense, passing ability, poise, and size as a ball-handler is going to get him looks just like it did MCW. He's the most promising guy on the roster right now in terms of NBA prospects. Guerrier's development as a shooter is huge for his prospects. I'm curious to see if he ends up getting drafted at some point. He seems to be what we had hoped Oshae Brissett might be for us. If Buddy can sustain himself as a 40+% shooter, I think he'll get a shot to earn a place in the league like Matt Thomas and Duncan Robinson did but we'll see. I don't think anyone else on the roster has NBA potential (barring someone currently marginal like Edwards, Anselem, or Newton developing a lot in the near future).
