  1. I was wondering if he might get the can. Relatively disappointing season for them and there had been buzz dating back to last year now about him not getting along with the front office or Tua. I'm sure he'll land on his feet pretty quickly but just shows that there's more to being a coach than just being a good coach.
  2. What an incredible way to end the regular season (I say before the refs inevitably decide who wins in OT)
  3. I think there's a chance but they'll likely be aiming for a bigger name like Jim Harbaugh. Making the playoffs after the year they've had would be really impressive though.
  4. I'm hoping for the same because I just think Pittsburgh is a miserable team to watch. At least with Vegas there's some fun in watching a new team in the postseason, Waller, and Renfrow. Pittsburgh is just a bad and boring team. There's no way that will happen, but if the game gets late in OT I wouldn't be surprised at all if they get conservative and hope for a tie. I'm sure Vegas would much rather play Cinci than Kansas City though.
  5. I have our game and that game both on while I fold laundry. Miami just took a 24-10 lead.
  6. We're better than all of the teams we're discussing here, but the Chargers offense is capable of outscoring us if Herbert is on his A game.
  7. Pats win = we get winner of LA/LV (and LA if they tie) Pats lose = we get NE/LA (LA if LA wins, NE if LV wins)
  8. We get Chargers if they tie according to ESPN
  9. I would be very surprised if he gets a HC offer this offseason. I don't think he'll be our next DC either way though. Probably be Jim Harbaugh's DC or tag team with a young OC coordinator getting their first HC job.
  10. The Chiefs D isn't historically bad though. It's arguably not even a bottom 10 defense this season much less historically. That performance from the Packers was an atrocity though.
  11. Some teams are going to be interested in defensive-minded coaches, and some will be interested in more experienced coaches, and he checks both of those boxes in a way that most of the available options do not. As a DC, his defenses have been elite everywhere, including Dallas this year where they went from one of the worst defenses in the league the year before to arguably being a top 5 unit this season. As a head coach, he has a winning record overall, including the Super Bowl runner up (with Shanahan at his side as you noted). After Shanahan left, Atlanta still managed to go 10-6 the following season, followed up by a couple 7-9 years before he was ultimately fired. I don't really think those Falcon teams were exceptionally talented either. I think Quinn's teams probably overachieved overall during his time there. And on top of that, players and front office types both just like him as a person. It makes sense to me that he would be one of the top retread options out there this offseason.
  12. I’d put Pittman in that tier with Higgins but that’s just nitpicking.
  13. Carolina isn’t going to trade him this year. Their front office won’t be able to justify the weak return they’d get and it would create a major dead cap situation for them.
  14. Yep, companies looking to acquire in a case like this don't really care if you're profitable as long as you're showing revenue growth. It's similar to all those stories about the NBA losing money every year where it's technically true, but being profitable isn't the goal.
  15. I would bet almost anything that at least the bigger name writers with The Athletic are getting a decent chunk of this. I know some of the writers are already counting their money.
  16. They aren't leaks. WFT posted a video showing a sneak peek of the jerseys. It isn't necessarily military themed (though I think that's most likely); the stars and stripes on the jersey likely represent the DC flag (and potentially has a double meaning tying the military in). The phrasing of their hype video, saying the team will launch in February or whatever might indicate that it's plane related, in which the Washington Armada would be pretty much the only finalist that makes sense.
  17. Cleveland should let Baker go. Maybe the worst position to be in in the NFL is paying an average to below average QB elite QB money and that's the position Baker will put them in. Lamar is at worst a top 10ish QB and at best one of the very best in the league. Baltimore will be happy to give him elite QB money. It's only really a pickle if these teams screw up what should be pretty easy decisions.
  18. You lose me a bit by saying Green Bay’s supporting cast is mostly JAGs and then saying guys like OJ Howard and Ronald Jones are very good, but no doubt Brady has a better supporting cast overall (though they’ve dealt with a lot of injuries this year). At any rate, Rodgers is definitely more deserving than Brady in my mind.
  19. The answer is possibly none, but it’s hard to say because Pro Football Reference only tracks the Associated Press all pro teams, so according to them, Tasker never actually made an All Pro Team (I don’t think the AP began including a special teamer until like 2015).
  20. Barber is easily a hall of famer. Amazing player and one of the most important parts of one of the top 1-3 defenses in history.
  21. Yeah I tend to think there might not be much trade interest/we’d have to settle for an early day 3 pick to move him but at that point, I don’t think I’d bother.
  22. I don’t think asking him to primarily be a pass rusher is the answer but I simply think he’s more expensive than he’s worth. If we could trade him in the off-season, I probably would (assuming you get like a day 2 pick or something for him).
  23. There’s still time for things to change, but I think Rodgers pretty much has to be MVP if the season ended today. Brady slipped too much recently, Allen and the Bills/Mahomes and the Chiefs as a whole just came up a little short too many times, and Kupp, Parsons, and Taylor don’t play QB. I would go for Kupp over Taylor if we gave it to a non-QB though. At any rate, we’ll see how things look when the dust settles but Allen/Brady/Mahomes have ground to make up on Rodgers right now.
