  1. Idk the number, but it feels like a lot of collegiate punters are coming from Australia now too. I know the Cinci punter off the top of my head is the son of an AFL legend. My father-in-law nearly lost his ***** when he saw him in the CFP.
  2. Whether or not it was truly just a bone bruise, we saw the videos of him at practice. He was limping pretty badly trying to get through practices. I think they probably just realized this wasn't their year and didn't want to put him at further risk.
  3. It would have only been 25 yards out if they had gotten that spike in time. I’m sure they also just felt like they were called for too many penalties.
  4. They changed their coverage for that play though which is why the Cowboys did the QB draw. San Fran had everybody draping the sidelines for that play so the middle was wide open.
  5. Probably only time for two hail mary's unless you quickly bailed on one of them and threw it away. I think there's probably an argument that one try from the 25 has a higher likelihood of scoring than two hail mary's but obviously Dallas effed everything up badly enough that they never even got that one attempt. It's funny to think about how much time they cost themselves with the punt team fiasco, the holding calls on their defensive line, and just all the time they cost themselves trying to spike the ball there. I was saying that to my friends before the QB draw too and I honestly don't hate the QB draw there. They obviously royally messed up trying to spike the ball though.
  6. I'll be happy for him to get his chance, but I'm not excited to have to replace him. Simply one of the best OCs out there right now.
  7. It's not really complicated. If they're going to pretend the 2nd team is a real thing, they should vote for a 2nd team like the NBA does.
  8. The 2nd team is such a silly thing since voters don't actually vote for a second team. So you end up with situations like there not being a TE on the 2nd team last year, no RB on the 2nd team this year, and only 2 WRs on the 2nd team this year vs. the 5 or 6 that made it last year. Still nice to see Poyer and Hyde get their deserved recognition though.
  9. That draft was viewed as Burrow being the top dog and most people having Tua as the #2 guy with Herbert getting some love here and there. Some of the prominent draft people's big boards: McShay: Burrow #2, Tua #7, Love #20, Herbert #24 Kiper: Burrow #2, Tua #5, Herbert #9, Love #21 Jeremiah: Burrow #2, Tua #6, Herbert #20, Love #23 Brugler: Burrow #2, Tua #6, Herbert #18, Love #19 Miller: Burrow #2, Tua #6, Herbert #27, Love #31
  10. Do you really think he's one of the top 3 linebackers in the NFL? I love him and think he's underrated but he just isn't a top 3 guy. The fact that he and Edmunds got votes is amazing.
  11. Tua was fine for the most part this year. Nothing to suggest he's a star in the making or anything, but certainly wasn't a disaster like people like to imply. Their offensive line (and particularly RT) were so bad it pretty much broke the offense this year. He was #3 in the league in terms of getting the ball out quickly and his RT still managed to lead the league in pressures allowed. That's almost impossible. It's not a situation like the Jets with Darnold where Darnold played like crap but the Jets held out hope that with a better supporting cast, it would elevate him from terrible to great. With Tua, it's more hoping that if you fix the OLine, it could elevate him from adequate to great. I doubt he can be great even with a good OLine at this point, but Tua wasn't really the thing holding this team back. If anything, his ability to make people miss in the pocket and get the ball out quickly probably helped them to avoid being the worst offense in the league (and instead just be a bottom 5 offense).
  12. Major difference is the GM in Houston likes Flores and has the owner's ear.
  13. Not even just no QB. That roster was almost completely devoid of talent. Caserio just hired him to take the L's for a year so that the coach he actually wants hopefully won't have a tainted record.
  14. I would be very shocked. Even if Mahomes gets hurt, I think KC likely beats Pittsburgh with Henne at QB.
  15. Just sort of spit-balling here and thinking about the worst QB rooms in the league right now/this offseason: Cleveland - Highly doubtful Pittsburgh - Won't rule it out, but my guess would be that they'll pursue an established starter Houston - Probably just roll with Davis Mills next year Denver - Same deal as Pittsburgh Giants - Don't really see the point in moving on from Jones to Trubisky Washington - More possible now after Heinicke's late season collapse. Would be sad but not entirely surprising for them if their inaugural season with a new brand is anchored by Trubisky as their starting QB. Carolina - No clue what they might do after they tried to make win-now moves this year and completely collapsed New Orleans - Would make at least some sense All in all, there's maybe 5 situations that at least kinda make sense and a couple of them may just go for a rookie instead. He might be able to go somewhere and keep the seat warm for a rookie like Tyrod has done the last few years, but not sure if he'd rather go for that vs. sitting behind Allen with a good situation if anything goes wrong for Allen.
  16. The argument re: spending money to ensure you have a good backup isn't so you can win a Super Bowl with that backup leading the way. It's to keep us a float if Allen misses a few games so that it hopefully wouldn't sink our playoff hopes. Having said that, I think we're pretty much at the point where we have to start cutting costs somewhere and I'd rather do it at backup QB than a lot of other starting positions.
  17. Devil's advocate is that a big reason Wilson took all of those sacks is because that's who Zach Wilson is. He just refuses to take the easy throws. Cover1 was pointing out how often he had open guys underneath but just preferred to run around in circles instead of getting the ball out.
  18. The Bills analyst guys like Cover1 are saying people act like Edmunds will set the market at LB when in reality, he'll probably be valued like Deion Jones, Zach Cunningham, and Myles Jack. They all got just under $15 million per year and considering they all signed a few years ago, it wouldn't be surprising to see him exceed $15 million per.
  19. The people crapping on the Colt McCoy idea seem to have no idea how bad most backup QBs are. He's probably one of the better backups in the league. I would personally prefer to cheap out on the backup QB with a rookie, but if we have to sign a vet (and can't just bring Trubisky back), I'd probably be targeting Mariota, McCoy, or hope that the market craters on someone like Jameis or Bridgewater.
  20. He absolutely did not have to say anything about it. Certainly didn't have to say he hopes he never leaves Michigan. If he wanted Harbaugh, he could have just said something along the lines of "Harbaugh's a great coach, but we're going to have a legitimate search here."
  21. I do think Pederson will likely be one of their targets. We'll see with Harbaugh; seems like it's essentially just Dolphins fans trying to make sense of the firing while the actual reporters say there's nothing to it. Reality is he was fired because nobody wanted to work with him. Dolphins owner also just put out a statement saying he hopes Harbaugh stays at Michigan.
  22. Of course they do. They're trying to convince themselves that an arguably better coach is lined up. Jeff Darlington already reported that Miami is not targeting Harbaugh. Miami didn't fire Flores because they have a good coach lined up. They fired him because they don't like him.
  23. It's already been reported that Flores was pushing hard for Watson and that he and Tua had a bad relationship. He never wanted Tua. Doesn't necessarily mean Miami won't still pursue Watson; but all indications are that he was absolutely not on Tua's side.
  24. Yeah. Seems like he's a pretty good coach, but it's tough to survive when you have a bad relationship with the owner, the GM, the QB, and other important players. He'll get another opportunity quickly and is a good enough coach for that to pay off for the new team but I'm not surprised Miami is moving on.
