I mean, they did win a Super Bowl the year after firing Dungy. Perhaps they win it even with him; it's hard to say. But Gruden was able to take that amazing defense Dungy and co. had built and give it a pretty good offense that Dungy was unable to provide. It's been pretty bad for them since that Super Bowl, but I think they're trending in the right direction now. It'll be interesting to see how they do this upcoming year; their GM has done a nice job of adding talent to the team, but he may believe to a fault in the young O-Line they've built. They have a couple really talented blockers, but it's never come together for them, and yet it appears that they're satisfied with what they have. If they can add a good pass rusher off the edge and get one of the talented RBs in this year's draft, they should be a good team next year. Maybe he turns it around with his next team, but that dude was beyond terrible last season. Seemed like a classic case of getting paid and no longer caring.

To be fair, having watched most of Tampa's games this season (and the last one too), I don't think there are many RBs in the NFL that could have been productive behind that line. Doug was pretty terrible this season even if you take the O-Line into consideration though. This was a no-brainer for Tampa though. Saves them roughly $21 million over the next 3 years and the draft class is incredibly deep; they'll almost certainly get an upgrade at a fraction of the cost.

LCB Marcus Peters "may not be long" for Kansas City.
DCOrange replied to KGun12TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I give it a 0% chance that McDermott wants to trade what it would take to get Peters/pay what it would take to keep Peters. -
If it makes you feel any better, I know the guy at Cover1 is pretty convinced that it's Darnold that the Bills want and that they're just hoping Cleveland passes on Darnold at #1. Speaking of which, I saw the other day that Charlie Campbell has been hearing that the two QBs Cleveland are considering is Darnold and Lamar.

Does calling work even if you're not actually a DirecTV customer? I've just bought the Sunday Ticket Streaming service in the past. -
NFL Sunday Ticket Price Increase for 2018
DCOrange replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what I'm wondering. I think I paid $100 last year through a friend's college e-mail. If I have to pay anywhere near $400, there's no chance I'm getting it this year. -

This worked for me. Idk if it’s the same link or if someone else copied his work or something. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sULn30miUN082PSDJJ9rZy3nRwG2p9Qm9Rfmt3UMyw8/htmlview# -
Mel Kiper's new Big Board and Position Rankings
DCOrange replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its really just potential. Allen has possibly a stronger arm than anyone in the NFL right now along with a big frame and good running ability. The hope is that with corrected footwork, you’ll get the Allen you saw in the Senior Bowl/his Bowl game. Rudolph is nothing like him with the exception of also having a big frame. The running ability and arm strength are nowhere near Allen. -

Yeah I’m not sure what happened. I think the guy deleted his twitter account too. I hope he’s alright. -

Is it still working for you? I went to look at it earlier today and it said that I need to request access to view it now but it might just be a glitch on my work computer. -
2018 NFL Draft Vis-á-Vis 1983 NFL Draft: The QBs
DCOrange replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We should look back at the 1999 draft; the only draft before this season where 5 QBs went in the first 20 (and in that case, all of them went in the top 12). -
Mel Kiper's new Big Board and Position Rankings

Chase Litton is the QB at Marshall. 6'6", 230+ lbs, a cannon of an arm, and he already has experience making adjustments at the LOS which is becoming increasingly rare in college. His footwork and accuracy are a mess though. He's like a very, very poor man's version of Josh Allen without the mobility. I like him as a guy to take in the 6th or 7th round if Buffalo wants to bring in 2 rookies. Ryan Finley decided to return to NC State for his senior year when the draft won't be as deep at the QB position. -

It's to the point now that if they draft well, they're going to end up running out of cap space when it comes time to sign all these guys to new contracts haha. IF they do trade down from 1 or 4, I expect that they'll trade up multiple other times throughout the draft to consolidate picks a little bit and make sure they get all the guys they really want. -

For those with insider access, here's a link: http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2018/insider/story/_/id/22455315/mel-kiper-2018-nfl-draft-big-board-top-25-prospects-ranking-position-position-top-10s Top 10 QBs (top 4 are all in his top 10 overall big board): 1. Josh Allen 2. Sam Darnold 3. Josh Rosen 4. Baker Mayfield 5. Lamar Jackson 6. Mason Rudolph 7. Kyle Lauletta 8. Luke Falk 9. Mike White 10. Chase Litton -
Target Depths for respective Bills WRs: Zay: 13.8 yards Benjamin: 11.9 yards Matthews: 6.8 yards Deonte: 15.4 yards Some other guys roughly around the same average target depth as Zay are: AJ Green Tyrell Williams Torrey Smith Deandre Hopkins Mike Wallace I don't have the average target depth for Zay at ECU, but over 64% of his routes were flats, screens, drags, and slants, which are all less than 5 yards, so his average target depth was probably very low in college.

What exactly is your basis for this? His QB rankings over the years basically look the way the draft actually played out: 2017: Watson, Trubisky, Mahomes, Kizer, Webb - He had Watson higher than he ended up going and currently looks smart for it 2016: Wentz, Goff, Lynch, Cook, Hackenburg - He missed on Dak like everybody else and seems to be correct about Wentz > Goff right now 2015: Mariota, Jameis, Petty, Hundley, Mannion - After the top 2, this class was horrible. Mariota has arguably been better than Jameis so far. 2014: Manziel, Bortles, Carr, Garoppolo, tie between Bridgewater and Mettenberger - Obviously Manziel was a bust, hard to say what could have been if not for his off-field issues. Obviously right now you'd take Garoppolo and Carr over Bortles, but these rankings are more or less in line with how everyone else felt that year, with the exception that he was higher on Carr and Garoppolo than most. 2013: Doesn't really matter; that whole class was awful. 2012: Luck, RG3, Tannehill, Weeden, Cousins - He didn't have Russell Wilson in here but nobody really did. I think these rankings pretty much mirror how everyone else felt at the time. Couldn't find 2011 or 2010, but 2009: Sanchez, Stafford, Josh Freeman, Pat White, Stephen McGee - This was basically a 1 QB draft and he screwed up by having Sanchez over Stafford. I don't know; I don't look at those rankings and think "man this dude sucks at evaluating QBs".

A major issue is that Zay made his living at ECU essentially on screens, digs, and quick slants; basically anything underneath. In Buffalo, he was used as the team's deep threat, which he has always struggled with dating back to ECU. It's no wonder that he struggled as a rookie; Buffalo played him to his weaknesses instead of using his strengths. This line from that PFF article is pretty incredible though:
-
That's true, but he was still plagued by having an awful supporting cast. For example, 38.0% of Allen's passes came while under pressure this year. The average of the rest of the draft class was 24.3%. The next closest to Allen was Lamar at just over 31%. Considering the impact that being under pressure has on completion percentage, that alone is a huge reason that Allen's completion % suffered so much. Having said that though, even his completion % on non-pressured passes was the lowest of the group.

AJ McCarron wins grievance vs Bengals, is UFA
DCOrange replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As long as it's a contract that you can easily get out of, I don't really see why you wouldn't pursue him. I'm not a big fan of his, but if you give him a contract like Mike Glennon got, that's a great move IMO.
