I would have to guess he's either (1) just frustrated with how much the team is struggling overall or (2) he has something else going on in his life and it's bleeding onto the football field. I mean, he's getting nearly 20 targets a game this year lol. They pretty much could not be throwing it his way more than they are.

Josh Gordon to be released-now traded to PATS
DCOrange replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know Rapoport has said that they're strictly releasing him because of his injury or whatever, but the initial reports were indeed that the team doctors suspected he had relapsed. -
[Edited Title] Tremaine Edmunds looks Lost
DCOrange replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yesterday was basically why I was saying during the pre-season that I didn't view Edmunds as an upgrade over Preston Brown in the short-term. Certainly has a world of potential, but he's just not there yet. Brown was very unspectacular, but he was an okay starter; Edmunds isn't yet. -

Of particular importance to Bills fans, his top 32 includes: 12 defensive linemen 4 WRs 4 offensive linemen

I support the idea of signing him but no significant free agent is gonna be like “Well the Bills have a really crappy team but they did sign Kaepernick to be a backup QB. I’ll go there.” Free agents will come if and only if Buffalo is willing to pay them a lot of money.

Nobody should be doubting Beane or McDermott
DCOrange replied to SoCoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that McBeane have a plan and that it was probably always a 3-4 year plan. I respect that and am willing to wait and see how next offseason goes since it will be a huge one for them considering the cap space they'll finally have available. HOWEVER, it's impossible to look at the moves that Beane has made as GM and not come away at least significantly nervous about him. Setting the draft picks aside since they're basically all TBD at the moment, here's a recap of pretty much all of the significant moves he's made: Sammy for Gaines/2nd: Will boil down to how Allen/Edmunds turn out (I can't remember which guy they used this pick to trade up for). It would obviously be nice right now to have a good WR though.Ragland for a 4th: TBDDarby for Matthews & Harrison Phillips: Looks like a loss, but depends on PhillipsRussell Bodine: Couldn't even beat out GroyCorey Coleman: Basically just lit $3 million on fire and are now paying him to play for the Patriots.McCarron: Sucks so bad that we're stuck with Peterman or the option of killing AllenBenjamin Trade: Looks awful right nowVontae: Signed for more (if I remember right) money than EJ Gaines (a good starter) and he's a healthy scratch.Trent Murphy: Looks bad/injury issuesStar: Was a bad signing from the get-go. Add in the fact that they moved Dareus' contract to have the ability to sign Star to an even worse contract...Ivory: one of the most expensive backup RBs in the league and he's not even the primary backup. It's a pretty horrible track record at the moment, and we're entrusting this guy to spend a ton of money this offseason. -
WR Will be Toughest Position to Fix
DCOrange replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Godwin is a regular WR to be honest. That kid is an absolute stud. His advanced metrics last year were pretty much GOAT level and he looks really good on film. No doubt in my mind that he's a capable #2 WR right now; he just happens to be playing for a team that has a lot of good options -
WR Will be Toughest Position to Fix

Diggs and Cooks both already signed. The list of options is basically: Randall Cobb Josh Gordon (restricted) Robby Anderson (restricted) Golden Tate (31 years old) Chris Hogan Devin Funchess Tyrell Williams Donte Moncrief Quincy Enunwa John Brown Adam Humphries Geronimo Allison Kevin White -
Who are we competing with for the #1 overall pick?
DCOrange replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just don't see how a team with the offensive talent that Tampa has is in the race to be honest unless the O-Line completely crumbles (and it looked legitimately good against New Orleans). Tampa has one of the best receiving corps in the NFL, two good TEs, and a north-south runner in Barber. And Jameis was quietly very good last season; he was ranked among the most accurate passers in the NFL when you adjust for how deep he throws the ball on average. -
If those are his unofficials, I think it'll be in the 4.55-4.60 range like I was saying. Again, we'll see. I hope he turns out to be a stud at the next level (and if he does, I hope he's a Bill!).
-
I think he's slower than that but we'll see. I think he'll be close to a 4.60. If he can get under a 4.50 that'll be great for him.

2019 Free Agent Discussion
DCOrange replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marpet will likely be signing long-term with the Bucs. I'd expect them to make him one of the highest paid guards in the NFL. -
I think top 10-15 is about right for him at the moment. The Combine will be a huge opportunity for him. I'm not sure he'll test out all that great but if he does, with the kind of production he'll likely have, he could be a riser.

2019 Free Agent Discussion
DCOrange replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OLine free agent class doesn't look very impressive to me. Pretty much old guys that we shouldn't touch or underachieving young guys that probably aren't worth pursuing. Seems like a decently strong offensive tackle draft class though so there's at least that. Thankfully, three of the things that Buffalo needs most: WRs, O-Line, and pass-rush appear to all be pretty strong in the upcoming draft where Buffalo will certainly be picking early. -
I don't really agree with this to be honest. One of Fitz's biggest issues is that he doesn't recognize his own weaknesses. He's a smart guy in general, but he's not intelligent about who he is as a player. Pennington understood his limitations and took them into account with the way he played the game and that allowed him to be a very good starting QB. Fitzpatrick has a weak arm and still tries to throw balls into windows that he has absolutely zero chance of throwing it through and that's why he's always been a journeyman backup QB.

Darby trade already one of the worst in Bills history
DCOrange replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Average is being too kind IMO. That was really shocking to see. He's never had a rocket but man his passes seemed to hang in the air forever last night. -
Damn, and I thought I was low on the defense. I'd be pretty shocked if it's the worst in the league. I don't think it's a top 10 unit like many here do...maybe not even top half of the league, but I don't think it's the worst either. I think Buffalo is likely to pick somewhere in the 4-8 range this year though.

An 18-game season with 16-game player limits?
DCOrange replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not due to a mandate about how many games a player can play in, but resting star players in baseball and basketball are both pretty normal. Obviously they play in far more games though, so the importance of each individual game isn't as high. -
An 18-game season with 16-game player limits?
DCOrange replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not increasing games for the players though, that's the whole point of this weird proposal. It allows the NFL to increase the regular season schedule to 18 games while increasing the amount of rest that players get and also not increasing the number of games each individual player plays in. -
An 18-game season with 16-game player limits?
DCOrange replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a really fascinating idea. No doubt it would be unpopular from the perspective of the fan that physically goes to the games because they might not get to see their favorite player play. Would be really interesting from the team perspective...basically would give each individual player 2 or 3 bye weeks rather than 1 and then there would be the strategy of "Do we bench all our good players the same week and just hope our backups can pull it off so that we're at full strength for 16/18 games? Or do we bench some sporadically so that we're never at full strength but we're at pretty good strength all 18 games? I don't really see this happening but it's a fascinating idea to consider. -
Every Josh Allen snap in Bengals Preseason Game 3
DCOrange replied to cd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nah, that one was just a really bad spot by the ref. He dove for the first down and clearly got it; the refs seem to have thought his foot hit out of bounds when it hadn't.
