  1. I think LVE is significantly better in coverage right now. In fact, I think that's one of Edmunds' weaknesses at the moment. FWIW, LVE is ranked as the 3rd best linebacker in the league in pass coverage per PFF. Edmunds ranks 74th out of 82.
  2. Yep, he's one spot ahead of Vander Esch (for now, PFF hasn't updated for last night's performance yet).
  3. For those keeping score, Vander Esch (before last night's great performance) was ranked as the #6 LB in the league per PFF. Edmunds is #71 out of 82. Having said that, I think this is a little different (though I didn't really love the Edmunds trade-up either). I think it was pretty easy to see that Zay was not the best WR on the board even at the time, and that's only proven to be true as things have gone on. It's not just Juju either. There were a bunch of other options at that point in the draft that would have been better than Zay too. My only real issue with getting Edmunds is that I just don't fundamentally believe in trading up early in the draft in almost any situation.
  4. Jon Ledyard wrote up his scouting report of UB's Anthony Johnson: https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/11/22/2019-nfl-draft-player-profile-anthony-johnson/
  5. I'm guessing the 8-10 range if we don't trade down.
  6. Obviously he wouldn't be a feature back or anything, but they're already giving him handoffs as is. There's no reason they couldn't line him up in the backfield out of the shotgun and do some fun stuff with him. Having a WR with his speed that can motion out of the backfield and potentially be mismatched on LBs would be a nice way to weaponize him IMO. He's the same size as Tavon Austin, who has done the same thing from time to time.
  7. That I do agree with. My guess is that the Jets and Raiders are the teams to watch here but I know other people in the media (and Leveon himself in the case of Indy) have said to watch out for Indy and Green Bay. If I were in Beane's shoes, I'd probably consider signing a guy like Tevin Coleman (probably a pretty large contract in his own right), Alex Collins (hopefully cheap-ish after this season), or Malcolm Brown (cheap flyer on a guy that's been productive behind Gurley), and then go out and draft a RB like Darrell Henderson or Matt Colburn in the 3rd-7th round range (Henderson towards the front of that range or Colburn in the back half). I'd also like to see Buffalo potentially utilize Isaiah McKenzie out of the backfield next season as a Ty Montgomery-type of play.
  8. McCoy's rankings in total tackles avoided and tackles avoided per attempt over the years: 2018 (out of 60): 37th, 48th - below average or bad depending on which metric you use 2017 (out of 58): 14th, 39th - great or below average depending on which metric you use 2016 (out of 49): 5th, 11th - great 2015 (out of 55): 9th, 16th - great 2014 (out of 58): 10th, 34th - great or below average depending on which metric you use 2013 (out of 66): 3rd, 13th - elite 2012 (out of 62): 6th, 4th - elite 2011 (out of 72): 2nd, 15th - elite 2010 (out of 70): 29th, 41st - above or below average depending on which metric you use 2009 (out of 77): 38th, 35th - slightly above average Maybe these last two seasons are just a fluke like 2014 was, but it doesn't look great IMO.
  9. I'm not so sure honestly. I know Florio, who you quoted below, disagrees. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/11/16/yes-odds-are-available-for-leveon-bells-next-contract/ Florio says he would expect a 3 year, $54-60 million deal fully guaranteed
  10. For reference as far as stadium costs and stuff go, the Las Vegas Raiders stadium is expected to cost roughly $1.8 billion. And for what it's worth, I only know this because I'm a Milwaukee Bucks fan, but when they built their new stadium this past year, the stadium cost $500 million, half of which came from the public. This amounted to roughly 62 cents on their taxes. There will certainly be a way for Buffalo to make a new stadium happen without inflicting much harm on taxpayers.
  11. The different angles would be great if they actually used them for more than just replays. A view in which you can actually see the play developing would make it so much more enjoyable IMO. Like I said, no other sport is similar to the way that football prevents you from seeing where a play is going.
  12. I actually think football is the worst sport to watch on TV in terms of actually watching the game. I prefer football over baseball or hockey for example, so I'd rather watch football, but if for example we're talking about a person that enjoys every sport equally, I think football is the worst because of the fact that the TV angle is so brutal. You can never see where a pass is intended to go or anything. It blows my mind that in today's age we're still stuck with the same awful TV angle for football; no other sport strips you of the ability to see the field when you're watching a game the way that football does.
  13. Buffalo doesn't NEED the cap space, but I simply think they can upgrade at RB by moving on from him, so yes, I would have traded him if they could get an asset at the deadline. I think Philly may have finally realized that Josh Adams is a better runner now than McCoy is though. At any rate, IMO, Buffalo should cut McCoy in the offseason assuming they're unable to trade him.
  14. Again, refer to my last sentence in which I said I'm not sure Allen, Darnold, or Rosen are better passers right now either. All 3 of those guys have been objectively bad passers this season. Lamar has statistically been better than all of them even after removing all rushing numbers. Obviously it's a small sample size with all of them and an even smaller sample size with Lamar, but the only reason I'm feeling any less confident in ranking Lamar as my #1 QB prospect last offseason is because Baker has been better than advertised IMO. The other 3 haven't done anything to make me feel less confident in taking Lamar over them.
  15. They can make Bortles a post 6/1 cut and then it's "only" like $11 mil in dead cap for next season. Releasing those four gets Jacksonville to $11-12 million in cap space according to Spotrac. If they feel the need to clear more space, they could look at another defensive guy like Malik Jackson or Barry Church; they both rank among the worst in the league at their positions this year. Church would clear up over $6 mil and Jackson over $11 mil.
  16. I like Harry a lot, but I don't think he should be expected to be the #1 right away, or at least not in the traditional sense. Traditionally, when you talk about a #1 WR, you're referring to the split end or X receiver (aka the guy that lines up on the line of scrimmage and fights press coverage). I don't think Harry is ready to do that in the NFL at the moment; maybe he improves in the offseason and adds that to his arsenal. He certainly has the physical tools to be that guy. But right now, I think he's a flanker/Z guy; he's not really great at fighting press coverage right now but he's a massive threat when he's lined up off the LOS. I think guys like DK Metcalf, Collin Johnson, and Deebo Samuel are more ready for the role of being the X receiver right now.
  17. The reason I had Lamar as my #1 QB in the class and still do is because his running ability is so insanely special that even being a below average passer should be enough for him to be a good starting QB. With the exception of Baker, I don't think any of the other rookies are significantly better throwing the ball than Lamar is right now. In fact, I'm not sure they're better at all.
  18. Before the draft, I had Lamar and Darnold rated ahead of Allen. Now, I would take Lamar and Mayfield ahead of Allen. I'd take Allen over Darnold now though, and have always preferred him over Rosen.
  19. For next season, the only piece on defense that seems like they definitely will lose is Dareus. They'll cut him. The rest of the cap shavings will likely come on offense if I had to guess. Bortles, Carlos Hyde, and Sefarian-Jenkins all appear to be locks to be released at this point.
  20. I'd probably lean towards the freedom that Buffalo has now in terms of all the cap space and draft assets that they have. I'm not super confident that McBeane will use the assets correctly though. We very well may be two years away from being in the Jaguars position.
  21. Ultimately I think Bell is a Jet. Don’t really expect Indy or Buffalo to make a run at him personally and the Jets will open the checkbook for him.
  22. New mock from Benjamin Solak, one of my favorite draft writers: https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/11/26/solak-mock-draft-3-0/ Bills picks:
  23. His arm is significantly stronger than Peterman's though, which is one of, if not the biggest issue Peterman has. Having said that, as much as I wanted to like Thorson, I don't really see it either. He has some tools and has some mobility, but he seems like a pretty blah prospect to me. He's supposedly pretty renowned for his leadership/personality though; I remember the stuff I was reading a year or two ago about him made him sound like someone that I could see McDermott being interested in. Don't think that's an issue at this point with Allen in the fold though.
