  1. Didn't see it posted yet, but Mel Kiper has released his first mock of the year: http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2019/insider/story/_/id/25773312/2019-nfl-mock-draft-mel-kiper-first-round-pick-predictions-rankings-draft-order Nick Bosa Josh Allen Quinnen Williams - Jets Greedy Williams Jonah Williams Dwayne Haskins Cody Ford Devin White Rashan Gary - "Could the Bills get their Kyle Williams replacement here? At his peak, the 6-foot-6, 283-pound Gary is a menace who makes offensive linemen look foolish, but you'd like to see him do it with more regularity. Gary could play end or nose guard in a 3-4 defense or tackle in a 4-3. Buffalo could look at centers or guards here; improving the interior of the offensive line should be a priority." DeAndre Baker Jawaan Taylor Clelin Ferrell Kyler Murray - Dolphins Ed Oliver Jachai Polite Brian Burns Jeffery Simmons Greg Little TJ Hockenson Devin Bush Oshane Ximines AJ Brown Byron Murphy Marquise Brown Montez Sweat Dexter Lawrence Irv Smith Jr. Christian Wilkins Daniel Jones - Patriots Dre'Mont Jones Deionte Thompson Parris Campbell
  2. One of the Bucs writers clarified that Arians did say that they drafted him, and that Arians is 100% correct. They drafted Sanders and Antonio the same year lol
  3. Yeah, I would defer to him on that. Likewise with the Alabama RBs.
  4. Charlie Campbell from WalterFootball has been saying this for awhile too. From December: http://walterfootball.com/nflhotpress/article/Teams-Project-Jonah-Williams-in-Mid--to-Late-Round-1
  5. McCoy's ability to get off the ball might be his biggest strength. McCoy is the pass-rushing specialist who happens to also be decent against the run but they play completely different roles. Star is only on the field to try to free up space for others to make plays. McCoy is the one that Tampa relies on to make the plays. Edit: This article was literally from just before this season in which they proclaimed that McCoy has the quickest first step among defensive linemen in the NFL lol. I don't know how you could possibly think that Star has a quicker first step. Are you thinking of a different Bucs player? I'm genuinely confused. https://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bucs/2018/08/31/bucs-gerald-mccoy-youre-going-to-miss-me-when-im-gone/
  6. He's literally the opposite type of DT from Star. McCoy has more sacks in the past two years than Star has in his entire career and McCoy even missed 3 games in that stretch.
  7. Yep. For that reason, I think I'd actually prefer to target McCoy in a trade rather than signing him after he's cut. If Tampa is willing to just take a Day 3 pick for him, Buffalo has those in spades this year and his contract as currently constructed is basically a series of three 1-year deals, so once it comes time to re-sign the young guys or once his play starts to really decline, you can cut him and get the full $13 million per year back.
  8. Kinda crazy but I think they were dead last in TOs the year before and #1 or #2 this year
  9. I don't think that's the case, but we'll see if this actually comes to fruition. I'm guessing McCoy will sign elsewhere anyways but who knows
  10. Mentioned it in here...I follow the Bucs very closely. He's still a very good DT and I have no doubt that he would be an upgrade over Kyle in the pass-rushing DT mold in the short-term. I do think there's a question to be answered about whether or not you really want to be spending roughly $30+ million at the DT position between Star, McCoy, and Jordan Phillips though. Buffalo certainly has the cap space to do it if they want and I'm sure McCoy would only be a short-term solution so it might make sense, but that's a very high % of the cap to pour into the interior D-Line.
  11. I agree. And to be clear, I don't think he's a great DC. I just don't think saying that they were the 30th ranked defense this year is really accurate; they were probably roughly average or maybe slightly above and I think that's more or less where they should have been with their personnel. If the Jets can bring in talent, Gregg can at least get them playing at a solid enough level IMO. He's just a decent coach IMO.
  12. They were 13th in terms of both points and yards allowed on a per drive basis. #9 in yards allowed and #27 in points allowed on a per drive basis the year before. They were #30 and #31 respectively the year before Gregg arrived.
  13. Yeah, he's a little guy. My family has three of this breed (my parents, my brother/his girlfriend, and my girlfriend and I). Ours is only 10 months old but he's at least 2 or 3 lbs heavier than my brother's and probably a pound heavier than my parents (which is like 4 years old now). It's a small breed haha.
  14. We let our dog (10 lb morkie) lay in bed while I'm getting ready for bed, but once it's time to sleep, he goes down on the floor in his own bed. In the morning, he's allowed to jump up in bed once I get up (girlfriend usually stays in bed another two hours after me), but that's it.
  15. Prospects that Buffalo met with on Day 1: WR Damarkus Lodge, Ole Miss DT Daniel Wise, Kansas DE Derick Roberson, Sam Houston St
  16. A couple points that probably don't really matter all that much right now/given our cap situation: 1. I think Adam Humphries gets at least $8 mil per year and maybe $10+ million. 2. I wouldn't be interested in paying Phillips that much after such a small sample size of solid play with a frustrating lack of discipline. I don't think he'll command that much either to make that sort of contract necessary either, but we'll see. 3. I think Butler slides to Day 3 of the draft but we'll see. Combine will be a big deal for him; I think it can either push him up into the 1st round conversation or solidify him as a Day 3 pick. Also not sure he fits the prototype of what Daboll is looking for but we'll see. Certainly an intriguing prospect.
  17. By the time Election Day rolled around, 538 gave Trump a 29% chance of winning. New York Times tracked a bunch of sites that do similar calculations and the other contemporaries gave Trump a 15%, 8%, 2%, and 1% chance while Vegas gave him an 18% chance. So while Trump defied the odds according to everyone, 538 gave him more of a chance than anybody else.
  18. Not really all that surprising but here’s another one of those articles that bucks the standard coaching philosophies. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/you-called-a-run-on-first-down-youre-already-screwed/
  19. Do you consider Flutie to have succeeded? He's the only one that I know of unless Kyler measures better than expected.
  20. Yeah I'm confused by this too but I'm not exactly a detective so maybe I'm just missing something obvious.
  21. He was suspended at the beginning of the year because of the Uber incident and Fitzy was playing at an MVP level early on, so he got to keep the job until he returned to being the usual Fitz. Then Jameis came back, had a few decent games and one horrific game against Cinci (I think) and got benched again. And then Fitz was Fitz again so they came back to Jameis once again and from there on out, he was rated as like a top 5 QB based on QBR; 13 TDs to 4 INTs the last 6.25 games. Jameis has done this before where he's finished the season on a hot streak and then come back and been the same guy again, so we'll see. But the last 6.25 games (he checked in for Fitz late in the 3rd quarter and then started the final 6 games), he was playing at a 64% completion percentage, 33 TD/10 INT, 5000 yard pace (including rushing), so he definitely finished on the upswing.
  22. Obviously but that’s literally what the article is talking about and OP is arguing against.
  23. For context, it sounds like at least some of these responses were provided earlier in the year, so: 1. It's likely before Allen's return where he looked significantly better 2. It might have been while he was injured and therefore wasn't even playing so he wouldn't have been on anybody's minds at that point. 24. Can't help but wonder if this is Jacksonville trying to regain some value for him so teams are circling like sharks with blood in the water but we'll see. I kinda figured they'd keep him even if it's just out of pride considering where they drafted him.
  25. Yeah that seems to be the case to me too regarding it being more a projection than anything. That’s kinda what makes me think he’s a more realistic option for Buffalo than people are giving him credit for. The Bills just took probably the two toolsiest prospects at their positions to come around in awhile. If they think Gary has the intangibles that they see in Allen and Edmunds, I think Gary will be very high on the Bills big board.
