  1. The money doesn't really matter since it's only a one year deal and we have plenty of space, but glad to have him back for another year. I suspect he's the depth guy behind whatever DT we draft though.
  2. Unfortunately we'll never know how the season would have turned out had Metcalf not gotten hurt, but having said that, if we extrapolate Metcalf's stats through 6.25 games out to the 14 that Calvin Johnson played in his final year, Metcalf was on pace for 1,275 yards and 11 TDs. Calvin put up 1,202 yards and 15 TDs in his final year. Metcalf's dominator rating (basically picture Ole Miss' total receiving yards and TDs as a pie; dominator rating is how large Metcalf's slice of the pie is) is also above average (32.1%, the 58th percentile), though it pales in comparison to Calvin's astounding 55.3% (keeping in mind that 45% is considered to be basically legendary). Metcalf's breakout age (the age in which a player first broke over 20% dominator rating) is also slightly lower than Calvin's was, which is generally a good sign (Metcalf is in the 72nd percentile there). So with that said, Metcalf is ahead of the curve in terms of how early in his career he became a productive player and was also on pace to put up a season on par with Calvin's best season at Georgia Tech before his neck injury (though they produced in totally different ways, as Metcalf was on pace to put up more yards than Calvin on 18 fewer receptions. For reference, here's Metcalf compared to some of the guys he's been compared to (David Boston and Randy Moss are unfortunately not in the database): And here's Metcalf compared to the rest of the incoming class:
  3. Really interesting to see him being unrestricted but I don’t at all expect Buffalo to pursue him. Could their rival Steelers entice him to fill one of their biggest needs though?
  4. Hunt is definitely a factor. With Hunt, Cleveland has two of the top 10 rated RBs from last year. I also wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland thinks they can get a receiving back at a fraction of the cost. Duke is a good one, and there's certainly value in getting a guy that you know is a good receiving back, but teams seemingly find good receiving backs on Day 3 or off the trash heap every year; I imagine the Browns simply don't want to pay their #3 RB (or #2 if Hunt gets in trouble again) like a starting RB. He's currently slated to have the 19th highest cap hit in the league next year at the RB position and looks poised to move up into the top 10 in 2020.
  5. Totally forgot James Williams but he's definitely on my list as well.
  6. If you think his 40 yard dash is going to boost his stock back up, I think you're going to be disappointed. Having said that, I've been lower than most on him for the past two years now so I could just be wrong on him. I honestly think there would be better WR value picks in the 5th than him so I'm definitely not hoping for him to be a Bills pick earlier than that.
  7. I was thinking that he likely gets taken too early for Buffalo to really target him (I think Buffalo wants a corner on Day 3), but the wrestling background definitely gives me some pause lol. Levi Wallace was the guy I had pegged for Buffalo last year and Derrick Baity and Michael Jackson are the two that I have my eye on for Buffalo this year.
  8. He didn't even do track and field until his senior year. He was a high school RB and no Divison 1 program showed interest really. He had an offer from an FCS school but that was basically it. He had gotten some interest from Oklahoma State, but they filled their final recruiting spot. Air Force had some interest but he didn't want to commit to the post-graduate stuff there. Track and field coach convinced him to give it a try and he went out and broke the record for the 60 meter or something like that. UMass's coach was desperate to add some speed to the team so he offered him a spot.
  9. Some of the guys that I like after the 2nd round are: WR Stanley Morgan WR Tyre Brady WR KeeSean Johnson RB Trayveon Williams RB Matt Colburn CB Michael Jackson CB Derrick Baity OG Dru Samia OT Bobby Evans OG Sua Opeta OT Trey Pipkins DT Jerry Tillery DT Chris Slayton Andy Isabella, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Kelvin Harmon, Emanuel Hall, etc. if they happen to slide
  10. On the most recent episode of the Locked on Bills podcast, around 16 minutes in he starts talking about edge rushers and said that he can't divulge specific names, but he's been told that Buffalo will be taking a run at addressing the edge rusher position in "creative ways" this offseason, specifically to plan for the future at the position. He also specified that they will not pursue Clowney. I'm guessing this means they'll be making sort of an under-the-radar dart throw of a signing to see if they happen to get lucky and get a guy to breakout. Wouldn't be surprised if maybe it's one of their former Panther guys: Kony Ealy. Seems like people could make an argument that Anthony Barr would be a "creative" approach to adding an edge rusher too since he's been mostly an off-ball LB to this point.
  11. I'm not really talking about that. It's fine to poke holes in Metcalf over his agility, though I think people are taking it a bit too far. I take issue with people that don't like Metcalf saying that he must be David Boston because he's big and strong as if we haven't seen big and strong guys have success before.
  12. Seems like anyone that's down on Metcalf simply points to David Boston as if he's the only other WR that's ever been an athletic freak. That one picture that floated around clearly was taken at an angle that makes him look much larger than he really is. He's still a big dude no doubt but that one photo looked like the Space Jam guys after they got done drinking Michael Jordan's secret stuff. Metcalf measured out nearly identically to Julio Jones and they both look relatively the same in terms of body size to match the numbers. Oliver's TFL numbers are literally head and shoulders above basically every DT prospect of the past decade, including Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh.
  13. I was doing what I would consider to be an A+ draft (without trading down) and that was my exact first two picks. Would be ecstatic. Green, Blue, and Purple = good The obvious takeaways from here: -insert eye emoji- Metcalf, Harry, Isabella, and Jennings to an extent
  14. Neither is my #1 choice for the #9 pick, but I'd be happy with DK. Still not sure how I feel about Hockenson that high; I'd rather just address the position through FA.
  15. I initially had this issue on my phone but it worked after I refreshed it once. They recently overhauled their website and I think they're still having some issues with the transition.
  16. Bills Meetings so far based on where they're likely to be drafted at this point in time: Organized by where these players are likely drafted (at the moment at least): For #9 pick: DT Ed Oliver DE Brian Burns DT/DE Rashan Gary WR DK Metcalf OT/OG/C Jonah Williams OT/OG Cody Ford OT Jawaan Taylor Trade down or #40 pick: WR Kelvin Harmon WR Hollywood Brown WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside TE Irv Smith Jr OG/OT Dalton Risner C Erik McCoy OT/OG Bobby Evans OT Greg Little OT Kaleb McGary Round 3 or later: WR Riley Ridley TE Isaac Nauta OG Dru Samia RB Bryce Love
  17. I haven't read it yet myself, but if you're interested, the WR expert from The Draft Network dedicated an entire article to Metcalf's agility times. I suspect he doesn't view it as a huge issue because I think he's generally been high on Metcalf, but like I said, I haven't read it yet. https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/are-d.k.-metcalf-s-agility-times-a-concern
  18. My current realistic hopes are (besides a trade down which is almost always my preference): 1. Ed Oliver 2. DK Metcalf 3. Rashan Gary (as long as the Bills think he has a strong work ethic) 4. One of the OTs
  19. The Tampa Bay Bucs website that has tremendous sourcing within the organization is already referring to White as “Bucs LB Devin White” so I don’t think he’s gonna be available at 8 lol
  20. The guys with the best hands IMO are Day 3 prospects this year: Keesean Johnson and Tyre Brady
  21. Yeah this is what I’ve been assuming. I don’t really mind honestly as long as the contracts are easy to get out of. It is a lot though.
  22. He's not fast but I definitely expected better than that lol. Ed Oliver might beat that time.
  23. Holy cow, did something happen on his run? Did he trip or something? lol
