Bills one of 6 teams in on Leveon Bell
DCOrange replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, especially if it only costs $11-12 million as Breer is speculating. Hell, the Bills could clear roughly that much space just by cutting players they don’t need in the event that they sign Bell. -

Based on his Twitter profile, it looks like he started following players from each of the 6 teams that were originally mentioned as possibilities despite it sounding like the Jets are the only one really pursuing him at this time. -
WR John Brown (Ravens) to the Bills

It was 14-0 at half and Flacco still threw it almost 40 times. -

That's the "Jets getting played" part -

If this is true (and while JLC is pretty spotty in general, he is connected in the DMV area), either the Jets are getting played or someone else is negotiating with Bell and wants it to be kept quiet. -

I don't think he's saying it because Buffalo isn't mentioned. I think he's just making fun of a competitor. -

He was falling off before Lamar touched the field. Under 30 yards in 3 of his last 4 games with Flacco. Having said that, even when he's not catching the ball, he's putting pressure on defenses. He and Foster will both force safety help over the top and that should open up the middle of the field for Allen's runs, the run game, and Beasley. -

Ingram went to Alabama though didn't he? I'm pretty sure that means he's obligated to sign with Washington. -

How do people figure this out? If clicking on "Following" displays everyone in the order they started following, then for Bell, it's Derek Carr, Landon Collins, Earl Thomas, Tyrann Mathieu, DeAndre Hopkins, and Jamal Adams. I don't see Incognito, Merriman, or Aaron Williams anywhere. -

Might be reading into this too much, but this says Bell is interested in the Bills; not necessarily the other way around. Which again might be as simple as Bell and his agent recognizing that Buffalo has a lot of cap space so they want to project the idea that they're interested in Buffalo. -

Realistically I think it's likely just Jets and Ravens and if Baltimore gets close on the money, it's Baltimore. -

Akbar never played for the Packers. You're thinking of Kabeer. Akbar is an LA guy; played with the Raiders for a couple years, originally from LA, and went to school in San Diego. He had also hinted earlier that Bell will sign with the Ravens. -

I don't think a top WR exists in this market, but for what it's worth, I think the WRs currently available are just as good as the ones that have already signed. -

I would still guess he ends up with the Jets. I don't buy the Colts, Bills, or Texans as really being interested in him and I just don't know that Green Bay offers the money that the Jets do. Think a Shady trade would be closer to Shady and a 6th for a 5th or something. -

I'm guessing this is just Bell's agent using Buffalo's cap space to try to get other teams to offer more, but if this actually were to happen, I'd be okay with it under the following conditions: 1. The deal is mostly a year-to-year contract. 2. The Bills cut both McCoy and Ivory. If those things happen, I still wouldn't be thrilled, but I could be okay with it. No doubt Buffalo could desperately use a weapon and Bell is certainly a weapon. -
I've seen the rumors but I think it might just be a smokescreen. Already have Davis, Cohen, and for now, Howard. Seemingly want to move on from Howard so that they don't have to give out a big contract to a RB. I wouldn't be surprised if this is more about re-signing their own, such as Bryce Callahan, or possibly pursuing one of the strong safeties that are out there.

I don't know about the Barr deal, but the Funchess one is only a one year deal and it's less per year than Morse (unless Funchess hits some incentives). Colts had a ton of cap space so they got a young WR on a prove-it deal; nothing to really hate about that.

CJ Mosley to the Jets (5 yr, $85M, $51M gtd)
DCOrange replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that's a stretch even if we limit it to off ball LBs. There's quite a few that I would probably take over him. Not that they're the end-all-be-all, but PFF for example had him rated around the #40 off-ball LB this season. -
Correct. There’s been multiple deals already today worse than the Funchess one. That’s my point. It’s not really that bad because if it’s doesnt work out, he’s gone in a year anyways. Like the Jags for example just worked their asses off to clear cap space and now they’re screwed for at least 2 or 3 years lol

Funchess is an overpay, but a one year deal of an overpay isn’t a big deal. There’s some serious potential for Buffalo to hand out a deal like this, but 4 years instead of 1.
