  1. He's insanely athletic and as a passer, put up one of the all-time best seasons. This is a good read that breaks down how he compares to Baker last year as well as Josh Rosen. https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/contextualized-quarterbacking--kyler-vs.-baker-vs.-rosen
  2. I don't think Lock's ceiling is as high as Allen's, but I think he's much further along in terms of ball placement than Allen was in college. Allen's running ability set him up to have more early success than I think Lock will as well, but I think Lock is more likely to become a great passer than Allen (though again, IF it all clicks for Allen, like you said his potential is insanely high).
  3. I think we purposefully started putting a lot of smoke out there once it got out that we loved Josh Allen so that people didn't know which rumor was real and which was smoke. That doesn't really seem to be the case this year; I wonder if people haven't actually picked up on who Buffalo really wants yet.
  4. Won't bother with my own thread, but like Gunner, I didn't scout the QBs nearly as in-depth as I did the prior year since Buffalo has their QB now. I scouted 5 of them, and never got around to scouting Kyler enough to assign a grade/write a scouting report. Based on the little that I saw of Kyler, I would venture to guess that he'd be my top rated QB had I done my deep-dive, but we'll never know for sure. Of the QBs that I did scout, I have them rated: Drew Lock - Top 15 pick, same grade as I gave Josh Allen last year Daniel Jones - Top 15 pick, slightly below Lock Dwayne Haskins - Late 1st round pick Clayton Thorson - 4th-5th round pick Ryan Finley - 5th or 6th round pick If interested, you can view the full scouting reports for this year's QB class as well as the two years before here: https://draftqbs.wordpress.com/
  5. Bills have been connected to Oliver for a while now so probably a moot point, but I think it was Jeremiah that pegged Oliver at 3 earlier this week before Matt Miller’s report about Bills and Oliver.
  6. Below average. I don’t think anyone would argue that lol. The Bills offense weapons remain among the worst in the league.
  7. Dane Brugler's latest 7 round mock draft has him going 112th to the Bills, which would mean 4th round I believe. Kiper/McShay do not have him in their 3 round mock. WalterFootball projects him to go between the 3rd-5th round range.
  8. http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2019/insider/story/_/id/26540477/picking-10-sleepers-2019-nfl-draft-love-more-most It's an ESPN+ article, but the short version of guys that PFF thinks are flying under the radar are: David Long, CB, Michigan - PFF's #4 corner in the draft, he played 595 coverage snaps, was targeted just 60 times, and allowed just 18 receptions for 130 yards and a passer rating of 24.3 over 3 years. 80th percentile or higher in vertical leap, 3 cone, and 20 yard shuttle along with a solid 4.45 40, but he gets knocked because he's only 5'10 5/8" though he does have above-average wingspan. Khalen Saunders, DT, Western Illinois - PFF's #7 DT in the draft, he's a 324 lb nose tackle and he posted the 5th highest run stop percentage among DTs in the draft class and dominated the one-on-one drills at the Senior Bowl. Didn't test very well at the combine, but FWIW, of his top 4 physical comparisons, 3 of them are Jurell Casey, Mo Hurst, and Da'Ron Payne. Diontae Johnson, WR, Toledo - PFF's #11 WR in the draft, Diontae broke 10 tackles on 49 receptions this year. He also posted the 4th highest receiving grade in the country and led the country in punt return average. Hjalte Froholdt, OG, Arkansas - PFF's #4 OG in the draft, he's relatively weak as a run blocker, but in the passing game, he allowed just 5 pressures all season. Matched up against Quinnen Williams, who received PFF's highest grade ever, Froholdt surrendered 0 pressures on 41 pass-blocking snaps. Maxx Crosby, DE, Eastern Michigan - PFF's #12 EDGE in the draft, he racked up 133 pressures and 72 run snaps in his career (#9 and #7 in the class respectively). 6'5", 255 lbs, and he tested in the 90th percentile or higher among defensive linemen in the 40 yard dash, vertical leap, broad jump, 3 cone drill, 20 yard shuttle, and 60 yard shuttle; he's an absolute freak athletically speaking with great production to go along with it. Ronheen Bingham, EDGE, Arkansas State - PFF's #11 EDGE in the draft, he's only 6'2" and 240 lbs, but Bingham posted the highest pass-rushing grade in the country thanks to his ferocious spin move. Josh Oliver, TE, San Jose State - PFF's #5 TE in the class, he racked up 16 catches in contested situations this year, 4 more than the next closest TE and ranking among the top 10 of all pass-catchers. Te'Von Coney, LB, Notre Dame - PFF's #3 LB in the class, Coney missed just 17 tackles out of 319 attempts in his career. In the pass game, he allowed 16 first downs compared to 30 coverage stops. Jimmy Moreland, CB, James Madison - PFF's #11 CB in the class, PFF has limited film of him but was able to grade 5 of his games. In those games, he allowed 23 receptions on 46 targets, but also racked up 4 INTs and 3 PBUs. Max Scharping, OT, Northern Illinois - PFF's #7 OT in the class, he allowed 33 pressures over 1,894 pass-blocking snaps over the course of his career.
  9. One of the best WR prospects in the draft IMO
  10. I'd prefer Ed Oliver, but DK is probably my #2 realistic option so I'd be pretty happy with this. Having said that, who is this Gramling guy? I feel like I'm generally pretty well-versed on the draft community and I've never heard of him. This rationale makes sense, but it's also possible they just saw those two as potential buy-low candidates (especially in regard to Antonio Brown).
  11. Yes, he's been with Seattle for almost a decade now.
  12. If it's a "generational" anything (besides like a kicker/punter obviously), I'd probably lean that way over basically anything else. Quenton Nelson was one example of that IMO. As far as comparing between positions, obviously that's something that everyone has to do. IMO, Oliver is one of the top 2 or 3 prospects in this draft, so if he's on the board at 9, he's almost certainly my choice. DK is the #1 WR IMO and I think he's a borderline elite prospect. Positional value does factor in. For example, I have Devin White ahead of Metcalf on my big board, but for the Bills, I would take Metcalf between the two since Buffalo already has two talented young LBs. I would also factor salaries into the equation; that's the main reason why taking Saquon at #2 was so dumb IMO. With some positions, taking a guy at #9 means making him one of the highest paid at his position in the league as a rookie; that's just not really a good investment.
  13. Isn't it possible that like a ton of other athletes, he also would like to live in NYC? Professional athletes wanting to play in New York isn't exactly shocking. The fact that it also might help his wife's career is a bonus.
  14. I believe DK is a top 10 prospect, but I don't think he'll be BPA at #9. We'll see though. I personally would be happy if he were the pick but they can go in a lot of other directions that I'll still be happy with.
  15. Vita Vea is their Star Lo basically; Quinnen would be McCoy's replacement. I kinda think they'd take Devin White even with Q on the board though.
  16. Wouldn't he, Sanders, and Oruwariye all not count if that Penn State WR doesn't count? So based on that, we're at like 26 if I counted right.
  17. I don't really see how it happens barring a trade up, but Quinnen is IMO the #1 player in this draft. Would be huge to add him to the team if they find a way (without giving up too much).
  18. Based on this tweet, Miles Sanders wouldn't count as a top 30 visit either, right?
  19. Are we both talking about Khalil Hodge? I think being optimistic, Johnson might sneak into the 4th. I think he'll at least be drafted at some point, though he seems to be rated outside the top 20 WRs in the draft by most people at this point. I'm less optimistic about Hodge; he was never viewed close to the same level of prospect as Johnson and he's probably hurt his stock worse in the lead up to the draft than Johnson did. Edit: It's difficult to find mocks that go deep enough to include Hodge, but a few sources: Matt Miller has him rated as the #41 off-ball LB in the draft with an undrafted grade - https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2829000-nfl-draft-400-ranking-the-drafts-top-linebackers#slide10 Dane Brugler's 7 round mock has Hodge going undrafted - https://theathletic.com/909149/2019/04/08/dane-bruglers-mock-draft-5-0-projecting-all-seven-rounds-and-all-254-selections/ WalterFootball is the most optimistic that I've seen, ranking him as the #25 inside linebacker with a draft range of 5th-7th rounds (though this has him listed at a 4.72 40 when he didn't even hit 5 seconds at his Pro Day, which is generally faster than official times to boot) - https://walterfootball.com/draft2019ILB.php NFL.com has him graded as a UDFA (and I believe their #36 ILB prospect if I'm counting correctly) - https://www.nfl.com/prospects/khalil-hodge?id=3219484f-4425-7085-52f4-8666ba393f79 He's been constantly talked about throughout the year as a guy hoping to be taken on Day 3 and like I said, that was before he fell on his face at his pro day. It's still possible he gets drafted, but I would be blown away if anyone touches him on the first two days of the draft.
  20. People kinda came in late to the party and assumed that DK Metcalf blew up after the NFL Combine. The fact of the matter is that he was viewed by many as the #1 WR prospect or close to for most of the year and his draft stock has probably declined since the combine if anything.
  21. I would think he's a possibility as an UDFA guy. He was viewed as a 6th or 7th and that was before he absolutely tanked his pro day. At any rate, like one of the other posters said, they don't count against our 30 visits so it makes sense to bring them all in as long as we have the time to fit them in.
  22. That BuffFanatics post is from Twitter but I don't see anything on Twitter or Instagram from Metcalf with that picture in it. I might be wrong and just haven't found it though. At any rate, probably doesn't mean anything beyond him getting a shirt from the team when he visited.
