  1. This is more or less where I am too. I'm sure a guy that's good at 50-50 balls would come in handy, but I don't think it takes precedent over guys that can get separation. Brown and Beasley can separate. Zay is unfortunately just a bad football player. I should note that I hated him as a prospect coming out of college too, so maybe I'm seeing what I want to see, but I would have happily gotten rid of him the past two years even setting aside the fact that I thought he was a poor prospect to begin with. I think it makes our team worse whenever he's on the field. Point being, I'd gladly give Duke a shot at replacing Zay even if I don't necessarily think Duke's skillset is necessary.
  2. This is literally what the Patriots try to do every week.
  3. If there's a bright side, it's these two things: Team as a whole was basically even with the Patriots all day if not slightly better. This is hopefully the final straw for cutting Zay.
  4. I think Cousins is roughly an average, maybe above average starter; overpaid for what he is and especially for the role they currently have him playing. Bridgewater at his best fell short of that though. Maybe he eventually gets to that level, but I doubt it and I certainly don't blame Minnesota for not wanting to see if he recovers from that gruesome injury considering he wasn't anything special to begin with. The confusing thing with Minnesota is that they bring in Cousins and extend two star WRs that are considered arguably the best WR duo in the NFL, and then they decide they don't want to throw the ball anymore. A classic case of front office and coaching staff seemingly being on different pages, but in this case, it's actually working out well.
  5. He had easily the best season of his career with Cousins last year. It's not a chemistry issue; it's an issue of Minnesota abandoning the passing game right after they paid their star WRs (which to be fair, is working out for them so far this season as Cook has been incredible).
  6. Diggs is an awesome player. Would definitely love to have him on the team. I wouldn't be upset if we sent a 2nd rounder + Zay for him. Having said that, I suspect we hold off and just wait until the draft for what should be a stacked WR class and I won't blame them for doing that either.
  7. Yep, and we're in luck. Looking at The Draft Network's big board: They have DEs at: 2, 5, 24, 25, 29, 32, 34 They have WRs at: 1, 9, 17, 22, 27, 38, 41 They have OTs at: 7, 8, 35, 39
  8. Yeah, I think it'll be figured out sometime around then as well. I really hope in the very least, if EA gets NCAA Football, 2K brings back College Hoops. I still go back and play College Hoops 2k8 and NCAA Football 14 every once in awhile when I'm craving it even though basketball/football games have evolved a lot since then.
  9. I don't really care enough to get into a back and forth with you, but JLo hasn't even released an album in the past 5 years and none of the singles that she's released since then have done anything at all. Shakira at least has had a hit song/won a Grammy in the past couple years. I doubt I'll pay much attention to the halftime show, but I get the choice. It'll probably be a spectacle of a performance even if the music isn't the best.
  10. I'd rather see 2K do it, but I'd be fine with EA even though I think their sports games are generally disappointing. Definitely miss NCAA Football a lot.
  11. This just isn't an accurate description of Cincinnati. They put up 20 and 17 points the first two weeks (and 7 of those was simply a duck that Dalton threw where the safety had an easy INT and mistimed the jump, allowing Ross to walk into the end zone instead) and put up 17 this week. After 429 yards of offense in week 1 (including the aforementioned duck), they followed it up with 316 yards last week; Buffalo allowed 306. Cincinnati is a bad offensive team and while Buffalo's defense did a very good job in the first half, the 2nd half led to Cincinnati getting what will likely be their usual production. I think Buffalo's defense is elite, but we've played probably 3 of the bottom 5-8 offensive teams in the league so far this year. New England is a gigantic step up, and I suspect it will be too much of a step up. Could obviously say the same about New England's defense as well (and their offense for that matter), but they've aced the eye test to this point whereas the Bills have been more of a B in that regard.
  12. So based on that heatmap, it looks like basically all of Brady's passes are to the left side of the field so far this year? That's interesting.
  13. My guess is we see more of two things: 1. Frank Gore and Allen running up the middle - New England seems to be favoring a defense where they only use 1 or 2 true linemen at a time and just flood the field with linebackers and DBs. Even when offenses go spread, New England is stacking the line with these guys because their DBs are good enough that they can all be on islands. So the adjustment to me (and the zig to Daboll's zag) is to narrow the field instead of spreading it the way we have. If they're going to stack the box anyways, but do it with relatively small defenders, we should put more size on the field and try to push them around and let Gore do his thing. If Kroft is available, I think we see a lot of 3 TE sets. 2. More bunch formations and screens - basically just to try to muddy the waters and make it more difficult for New England to jam receivers at the line. Screens might work against New England's stacking of the box, specifically bubble screens.
  14. Obviously it's early, but I think we can say with relative certainty the playoff picture is likely to end up looking like this: AFC East: Patriots - just being realistic AFC West: Chiefs - think they're clearly the best in the division AFC North: Ravens - same AFC South: Colts/Texans Wild Card Contenders: 2nd place team in the AFC South LA Chargers Buffalo Bills Maybe Cleveland Browns if they right the ship So we're talking about 3 or 4 teams competing for the last 2 spots and Buffalo will likely be in that mix. If every game goes the way you'd expect, I think Buffalo ends up 10-6 and gets in. That's usually not how things go though; I'll say 9-7 is my realistic hope and I think at that point, it'll come down to tie-breakers to get in. Hopefully they go our way.
  15. I had them projected for a top 5 pick coming into the year. I won’t completely admit defeat on that yet but I think their defense might be good enough to avoid that.
  16. Yeah, I think I honestly underestimated Tennessee a bit this year but I still don’t think they win more than 7 games tops.
  17. The Titans are just a bad football team.
  18. It looks like Mariota is legitimately trying to get sacked.
  19. I’m fine with going for it, but for gods sake when will coaches take the end zone fade out behind the shed and put it down?
  20. I don't really see any opportunities as a starter tbh, unless, again, a team like Pittsburgh decides they don't have that much faith in Rudolph after all. The only one that seems like a realistic opportunity to be a starter is the Jets and even that would only last a few weeks. Edit: Maybe Carolina if the Cam Newton injury is serious.
  21. I can't see them trading picks for multiple QBs in back to back weeks, especially with Minshew playing decently well. He might be better right now than Eli.
  22. Just at a quick glance, the only real options I see for Eli (besides remaining as Jones' backup, which I think is most likely) are: Pittsburgh - Maybe as Rudolph's backup, maybe as the starter, but I think Pittsburgh is at least a little excited to see Rudolph in game action even if I personally think he's bad. Chicago - They already have Chase Daniel as Trubisky's backup though, and might not want to put any additional pressure on Trubisky as is. Green Bay - Their current backup is Tim Boyle. Jets - They probably think Darnold is only out a few more weeks though, so maybe they hold off, but Eli would certainly be an upgrade over Falk in the interim if they want to keep any hopes of a successful season alive. That's all I got.
