Foles would be a terrible choice, he's been mediocre his entire career, was mediocre in the playoffs and had a great game in the Superbowl, this is a classic case of way over inflated value, we need to stop obsessing over other teams garbage QBs and just draft our own, I swear, we as fans, deserve everything we've got in the last 20 years.

Rumor: L.Jackson 2nd QB on Bills Board
greeneblitz replied to Ittakestime's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah sure, just what we need a younger unproven Tyrod Taylor type QB. Why can't we just have a normal QB with a normal play and throwing style, every guy we ever get is either terrible or needs everything to be changed in order to be a NFL QB, no thank you, this draft is full of traditional pocket passers. -
Mobile QBs are almost always terrible after defenses figure them out, never again I hope.
-
I'm sorry but I so, so hate this thinking, "sitting tight" to get what likely is a worse QB for some other meaningless position like LB or CB that won't help the bills in the least is dumb, Taylor was a completely terrible QB last season and you're letting down ever other player if you don't upgrade away from him. The only answer to the 2018 draft is spend as many assets as you need to get the QB you think will be the most successful and start him on day one.

This should be the Bills plan at Qb

Now they like Josh Allen in Trade Up?

All are smokescreens anyway, but I hope we can somehow, someway get Baker Mayfield. -
What comes first Egg or Chicken?

Hard to believe after all these years of building a team without a good young QB we even have fans that still believe that type of garbage. -
Gil Brandt: Best Fits for the Top Free Agents

BS, if Shelden Richardson was already a Buffalo Bill, he would've been dumped with Dareus and Watkins for attitude issues. -
Getting yet another mediocre castoff QB to go along with Johnson, Flutie, Bledsoe, Holcomb, Fitzpatrick, Orton, Taylor and every other castoff savior that we've signed would be the last straw for many fans that have been following this franchise for a long time. How many times can you make the same mistake of not drafting a top QB, over and over and over and have fans still supporting the idea? Seems like you're a instant gratification guy, bad idea. What team ever gets good by doing this? In all my yearscan think of one, the Saints.

Ranking of Realistic Veteran QB Options
greeneblitz replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope they don't bring in anyone till at least a couple weeks after the draft, give the 1st round rookie time to assimilate as the defacto day one starter with only him and Peterman on the roster, plus let the market shake out. -
It'd be way better to use any possible ammo to get the guy they most believe in, I'm personally fine with 3 1st round picks if that's what it takes to end the QB zoid once and for all.
-
In his whole career, Foles has never had even close to his trade value right now, why the hell would we want to buy so high? In all likelihood, Nick Foles is a good backup, who played big in big games, much as Frank Reich was back in the day. We need a franchise QB, to get that you don't go get a castoff, you draft and develop one.
-
Why would we want to if we have 2 1st round picks?, everyone assumed from the day we made the trade that the pick was specifically for ammo to move up the following year to get a better QB. Linebackers, Centers and Defensive Tackles don't matter, even a little unless we hit on a franchise QB, and that fact is that statistically top 10 QBs are far more likely to become franchise QBs than outside of it.
-
no "stopgaps" draft a QB and start him on day one, develop him like normal teams do, stop the Bills way.

Nick Foles is going nowhere...
greeneblitz replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt they'll trade him before the start of the season and I doubt they won't trade him before the deadline, I think they'll need to first make sure Wentz is healthy but they'll want to get a pick before he walks at the end of the season, no one would risk franchising a backup QB with a 35+ million dollar tag. -
Andrew Luck to Bills speculation/chatter
greeneblitz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People forget how great Luck was before the injury, surrounded by zero talent and especially a terrible offensive line. The Colts would be idiotic if they traded him away. -
Like the OP said, I was be pissed if we trade up for Rosen, not only do I think he will be a bust as a QB in the NFL, to me he is a bad person as well and would never be able to root for a guy like him on my team.

Watkins is gone because of his attitude, he'll never come back under this coaching staff.

Terrible human being and worse QB

Why not make a play for AJ McCarron?
greeneblitz replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why are we always trying to figure out some other solution than drafting our starting QB? Nathan Peterman, first round rookie and some type of low level vet, that's it. -
Hate to say it...Tyrod will be back
greeneblitz replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah right, I'd bet money that the coaching staff puts near 100% of our problems on offense on the fact that Tyrod Taylor was under center, they can't drop him fast enough, Nathan Peterman will start before they bring Taylor back. However we all know what should and likely will happen, they'll draft a QB at some point in round one and go into the season with a expectation that the rookie will start on day one, they'll likely have some type of fake "competition" in training camp, but anybody that follows football knows the normal drill, short of having a franchise QB on the roster.
