Wood looks to have a grreat future at RG, has a lot of talent and looks to be be our best interior lineman. RG is (according to linemen) the most difficult position on the interior of the line to play well. Having your best interior lineman play at the most difficult position is not a bad idea. This time next year he will be going great guns. It's the two tackle positions I am the most worried about, this year and next. Meredith and Bell might have the talent, but they both appear too raw to be playing yet, let alone starting.

Surely doe?

Yes, yes you are. Panzer Leader was my favourite wargame. Although I prefered to play Statis Pro Football. These days I get paid to make those sorts of games (amongst others), so my wasted youth ended up being good job preparation. Onto MW2, thought about picking it up today, but decided I really should be working and will wait until the weekend. Really liked MW, so it will only be a matter of time.

Milo. about 5 years old. A rescued Pomeranian/West Yorkshire Terrier mix. Apparently. Stupidly cute. I was going to get the rescue Rottweiler, but my mum got him instead.

What's Our FO's Dumbest Move of the 2000's
Britbillsfan replied to BB Fan 4 LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tough choice. Some really difficult options. I would go for the McGahee pick, it was a case of WTF when I saw that. Phat Pat comes in a close second. Some things I dont think were quite so boneheaded but we could have done better in hindsight (Williams, Bledsoe, Whitner/Ngata). But Losing Phat Pat was dumb. Oh, and Reuben Brown. Had some good years left in him. Was not flagged for penalties quite as often as people think and was a very good guard. And called out an incompetent offensive. Of course, compared to now that offense was stoked full of players on the cusp of being All-pros... -

Definitely agree with this. But the cases like this should always be looked at again in case innocent people are sent down. -

'Confessions' are pretty weak evidence a lot of the time. Plenty of people have been sent to jail / the gallows/chair based upon false confessions (and not even via the use of torture). Some people (well quite a lot of people) will just fold to get out of the immediate unpleasant situation (questioned by the scarey police officer), even if it only puts them in a worse situation later on (life in jail with really scarey criminals, if they are lucky). Unless a confession includes information unknown to anyone but the police investigating it and the criminal who committed the act it should always be looked at with caution. -
Interesting article on bicycles and traffic laws
Britbillsfan replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Same **** over here. I walk to work (keeps me from getting too fat) and 95% of cyclists I see are breaking the law. Wrong way up one-way streets, cycling on the pavement, going through red lights. Bugs the hell out of me. -

Good grief. The world has truly gone bonkers (at least the English speaking, western parts of it). -
Speaking of Brit Coms, someone help me with this show....
Britbillsfan replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
His skits with the Pope being a mafia hoodlum were great. Even today the quality of his show stacks up well with anything out there, but did he ever get through a lot if whisky when he was telling those jokes. -

To be fair to McNally this is the first time in ages the Bills have had young, hungry talent at the interior line spots. Our new guards and centres look like the first decent trio for FAR too long.
-
Since he has yet to be active for a game and was cut earlier to make room for Stupar he seems the most likely to go.
-
Jenkins. He was the player of choice to be cut when we had Stupar briefly among the active players before the latter was returned to the practice squad. It is logical to expect he would be first out the door again next week.

Another point is whether the extra tackle would be expected to see the field at all this season. I have to think Kirk Chambers would be our primary back-up (with some experience) and unless we get really unlucky and lose two more tackles we are unlikely to NEED the services of the experienced guy. This being the case a raw rookie with lots of potential upside who has more chance of contributing in future seasons is probably the best way to go. If we do get desperate later on in the season then there will always be the opportunity to sign one of these old guys to fill in whilst the young guys get more seasoned.

I thought that it was the Lions. There are a fair few teams who could challenge for that title.

Bills Sign New OL Andre Ramsay
Britbillsfan replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not necessarily. If you have good young players and they develop into good experienced players there is no way you are going to take the risk of replacing them with potentially good young players if you do not need to. We had a pretty bare cupboard going into the draft, not many good, experienced OL were available in FA and decided to use the draft to improve. Once you are set along the OL you try to keep the unit intact and it will gain experience along the way. It would be NICE to have talent and experience (prefably with players in their prime). But it looks as though it is not considered an option available to the Bills (from the FO point of view) as the experienced vets out there are either not that talented or old and banged up. I am sure the FO would love to have a bunch of five year vets with great skills manning the OL but we will have to wait for this to happen as our current OL continues to develop. -
Yes (Prime) Minister was not only very successful but was the favourite of British politicans (most notably Mrs Thatcher), many ministers all saw a lot of Sir Humphrey in the top civil servants who... ahem... aided them in their jobs. KUA on the otherhand was pretty naff. There aren;t too many good sitcoms on British TV anymore, comedy programming seems to have gone in another direction (some pretty good panel shows/pseudo quiz shows, mainly)

Norway is a unique case anyway. Because it has vast oil reserces and very few people living there it is almost the Kuwait of Europe. With the oil revenues the country can afford programs it would otherwise be unable to provide. Basically capitalism works, but unfettered capitalism can be nightmarish. -
Although it was noted the giant rat discovered did have more than a passing resemblence to a certain Bill Belicheck but was far better company. On being informed of this the rat promptly stormed off into the jungle in a fit of anger.
