I like our chances against the Bengals. Their run 'D' is pretty putrid (28th) so I can see us using McGahee a lot. Our D is looking great, especially since we now have 2 more than decent safeties (the phins picked on Baker big time). Their QB situation is a little murky right now (throwing in either a second stringer or injured QB is not nice against our D). Our TE situation should be a little better as either we get Euhus back or the replacements will have had another week to get more reps in practice. Also MW will likely be back, since he was borderline for the Browns game. And the Bengals are all but mathematically out of the playoffs.

Or it could be that the Browns were taking a risk by not having him double covered for a lot of the game, creating a potential mismatch that normally Moulds would take advantage of......

Bengals are weak (28th) against the run, so expect Willis to eat up a lot of yards this week. I expect the Bills to win this, but it will be pretty close.

McGahee will NOT be that good.

But we did get the D help in that draft with Kelsay...the D lineman we would have chosen if McGahee was not still on the board. Considering our draft plans anyway it was a gutsy call with a small risk (ie: if Kelsay would not still be there which was seen as very unlikely), not a flukey gamble. -

Not being a follower of college football (and considering where I live and the coverage of it that is no surprise) when we went with a RB in round 1 I thought.....wtf???? However, when I looked at the talent that McGahee has and the fact that we got Kelsay as well my oipinion became one of .... if McGahee really is THAT good and the docs are right then this could be a great draft..... Thank you TD. -

Dead Weight to Be Trimmed OFF
Britbillsfan replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Vincent moves to FS as suspected then either Reese or Prioleau will be gone, maybe even both. Henry probably will get traded. Bannan and Lindell are both good candidates to go, with Bannan it might be we keep him as depth if Phat Pat goes in free agency or if he could stick as a guard. Matthews will almost certainly be gone as Losman moves up the depth chart and we bring in another clipboard holder of some description. We might even go with two QBs on the roster only next year depending on how Losman develops. Pucillo? As he is still here I would hope we can get rid of him, especially if it looks as though Bannan has what McNally is looking for in a guard. Wire I can see as a stayer as a good ST man, plus with the cutting of one or both of the other safteties mentioned above we would be thin there. Neufeld as the third TE might also be another possibility if we get someone else in, but I can see the TEs remaining the same. -
Does Weiss leaving signal the end of NE

I am hoping for one miracle at the moment (Bills making the playoffs after going 0-4), I don't want to risk it by wishing for another one...... -
Religion in grade school class
Britbillsfan replied to SJ Bills backer's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Religion has a huge part in the history of the world, but far less in America than the 'old world' (no 'religious' wars, for example). You are right about context. I think it is quite common for thugs and murderers to become mythologised in many nations, and the view of more important figures can likewise be exaggerated one way or another (after all history is written by the victor). One of life's small ironies is that in the UK we do teach religion in schools yet we are not a religious culture/people (50% agnostics/atheists approx, most people do not worship even if they see themselves as Christian, etc) whilst in America you are far more religious as a people/culture but religion is not taught. -
Russia and the Ukraine are both effectiely run by the old KGB, so what else COULD you expect...... Hopefully the nasty bastards will get kicked out of office this time round....but the dirty tricks are not over.

40 times should be taken with a pinch of salt as their is far too much an element of human error involved on the part of the timers. This has been talked over before in other, older threads, but the times quoted as truly fast players' 40 times in the NFL would mean they all would leave the top world sprinters eating dust by a notable margin (indeed the NFL would probably ensure that not one sprinter would make it into the semi-finals let alone the finals of an Olympic / World event if the players decided to be sprinters rather than NFL players (60m or 100m)). That said the times are okay as a kind of comparative measure, incredibly fast is incredibly fast, but the electronic timing method is the only accurate one (and it is what is used at major athletics events).

Old scam with better technology. Used to be the case a few of years back they would read the card over your shoulder whilst typing the details into their mobiles. With the new tech the method got easier.

Did Mularkey challenge T. Henry's 4th...
Britbillsfan replied to tornado681's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Back to the original question......... No challenge. CBS coverage did not show the replay to the end until long after the play had ended and the game had moved on, so the coaches did not get to see the run finished in the endzone and unless they saw the whole replay there was no way they could have challenged the play on what was shown. Hopefully it will not matter if the Bills win out and are able to get into the playoffs regardless. -
10 moses.......ugh!!! (Even got that stupid Baseball game question right).

When Vincent goes to FS and McGee permanently moves to CB it might be that TD will pick a CB to be the eventual replacement for Nate, seeing how he might cost quite a bit to keep when his contract comes up, ala Winfield.

Denver Int TD returned overturned on the replay.....hooray for replay. And the Chargers add another FG......what a good weekend this looks like it is turning out to be.......
