  1. I would be quite happy (make that deleriously happy) if Losman can step up in the off season and be in a position to start next year. I would be pissed off (make that extremely pissed off) if he only got the job due to the fickle fan pressure. We may be stuck with both Drew & Losman (and no one else) due to the cap situation on the team, however the team is a huge improvement over last season and I look forward to next season as the improvement continues.
  2. If what we here about Pat wanting to stay in Buffalo we could get him at a bargain price, which is half the battle. It would give us more $s to resign O line and possibly get a new guard. With the salary cap era it is important to try and take advantage of $ friendly deals and we could easily get that with Pat.
  3. By the time of that drive I thought our D was knackered from having to cope with being on the field so long against a very good Pitt O-line. If our O had managed a first down once in a while then the D would have had time to rest, but the ineptness of the O left our D on the field FAR too long for them to be effective by the end of the game. This was also the problem early in the season. The D is good enough as long as the O plays somewhere close to a degree of competancy. Which they utterly failed to do yesterday and early in the season.
  4. The Bills QB scenario depends on the developement of Losman. If we have many cap $ in Drew then he will be back, whether as a starter or not is for the coaches to decide. But he is a very ordinary QB at the moment. Unfortunately I can see Lindell back again depending on cap $ as well. The damn Jets lost as well....ho hum.
  5. Sorry about that. I desperately needed to pee, the loo was taken and the vat with the vacine in it was just sitting there........
  6. Wow - another P&P thread based upon pure ignorance....... Do you have any knowledge whatsoever about Sri Lanka and its recent history? Almost certainly not. At the moment in the east of the country there is a shakey cease fire in a civil war that has cost the Sri Lankas a lot more than this natural disaster. The East of the country happens to be where the tsunami struck. The presence of military personnel in that region outside certain, limited, areas would constitute a breach of the terms of that ceasefire. In simple terms the Sri Lankan government would be crazy to risk the restart of the war by allowing into the area foreign military personnel. The benefits, whilst they would be appreciated, are BY FAR outweighed by the risks of the war restarting. Hence why Israeli aid was accepted, but the military personnel were not.
  7. Stoopid wrong NFL.com updates......but go Texans!!!!
  8. Poop - reviewed and 1st down for Jax
  9. Texans TD on their first drive.....
  10. Happy XMas Nick. Cold and wet in Portland as well, typical British XMas, huh? Hopsguy - ALL you need to know about Boxing Day is that it is another national holiday the day after Christmas. So allows you more boozing time. (And if it falls at the weekend the next weekday is a national holiday instead). Hmm...no sloshed icon.....
  11. The British Bulldog is one that has been altered by the kennel club into a freak of ill health, the original British Bulldog breed resembles the American version. Would not surprise me that with the current version of the British breed they would sink and not swim, the poor things are barely capable of running.
  12. http://www.winstonthebulldog.co.uk/american_bulldog.htm Some info about the breed and pics. Says good with kids.
  13. And just how much better is that than the crud on NFL.com (even with the picture quality issue). The NFL should just pay some of these guys and sack the voiceover guy on their videos, or most everyone involved in their poop. (Not as good as Billzone (?) last year, but still a great sight for sore eyes). Many thanks Mike.
  14. Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, his left knee still in a cast, used crutches to walk into a Paul Brown Stadium news conference late Wednesday afternoon to say he'll definitely play in the last two games of the season. But he admitted that playing tbis Sunday against the Bills, "is going to be tough and probably isn't going to be ready, but I'll be ready next week (against the Giants)." From Bengals.com. Looks like it is unlikely he will play.
  15. I would imagine that the case would fail or not based on whether the doctors screwed up during the procedure. If they did then he is entitled to sue. If it was a case of him being an unhealthy individual who's bad health had the adverse effect then he has no grounds.
  16. Jerry Fontenot is the reserve at C (seems like he's been around since the last time the Bengals went to the Superbowl) and has had 3 starts this year and is a solid replacement. However with our DTs he could wear down in the game (in any case changing the OL just as you face our DL is never a good thing).
  17. It could be just an important to us that the starting C for the Bengals is hurt and probably out for the game. A rusty QB or an injured one behind a damaged OL against Pat & Sam......
  18. Having an additional amount of lifespan (why just 200 years?) will have fundamental differences in just about everything other than just the obvious overcrowding. If lifespans are significantly increase (and by significantly I am talking about increasing lifespans by 100s of years) then the issue of if you have kids or not becomes an issue for society (and, dare I say it, government) and not just the individuals concerned. To extend lifespans beyond 150 years or so (when the brain will have deteriorated too badly to function effectively) would involve halting the aging process so ages far beyond the hypothetical 200 years will be commonplace, with even the possibility of reversing it if you were already old when the process became available to you. As for GE being an interference with God's creation - well that will be for the individul to decide (is not most medicine 'interfering' to some degree?). Some will be against, some will be pragmatic ('If it was truly against God's will it would not be possible/we would not have been clver enough to work out how') and others will go 'So?' and it will be a total non-issue (like all the atheists out there). Once the scientific progress has been made it will become available somewhere as aging & dying is not high on most peoples' WANT to do lists, and once it starts to become more common place the number of people wanting such extended lifespans wil increase. All rather hypothetical at the moment as the treatments will take another 70-100 years (most likely) to become available and we will all be worm food by then.
  19. He is/was a long snapper (see his tackle totals) so a fumble is possible without a catch. Dorenbos has been okay this year, has he not?
  20. Considering how well we played against the Browns I am kind of glad we punted on that one occassion & did bot get the FD, did not hurt the result and it would have been an even tougher loss to swallow with such an incompetant zebra goof thrown in as well. No one deserves to be pulverised like they were and get a totally bogus call like that, would be just too cruel. Well, no one except for the phins, obviously......
  21. Because every year a team that is no longer in it will then procede to knock out a team from play off contention in an upset. And the way the Bengals have played in the second half of the season they could easily manage to be that team Do not think it will happen, mind you, but just because a team is 'not in it' any more does make them any less dangerous.
  22. That is a bad thing?
