  1. Well it is about time the UK government sorted out this problem, because we have turned a blind eye to these freaks in our midst for a long time. All Blair is doing is installing some common sense to UK domestic policy when it comes with dealing with these scumbags. The UK law has been far too wishy-washy with handling these walking piles of excrement, so much so that Londonistan has been a nickname for London amongst intelligence officers dealing with 'Islamic' terrorists for some time. The French have had a zero tolerance on these guys on their soil for many years, and have even stripped individuals of their citizenship and then, after any applicable prison sentences, sent them back to whence they came. The rest of Europe has been far tougher as well than the UK, it is one area we have consistantly dropped the ball in the last couple of decades.
  2. Have some incentives built into that contract that way if he decides not to go all out then he will hurt his own pocket.
  3. Stop bringing facts to the table. It ruins a perfectly good rant.
  4. What we want and what we can get may be two entirely different things, and TD has a better idea than we do of the likelihood of getting Nate to sign an extension. Getting a young stud DT would be great as it replaces the only player lost in the D of last year with a better talent with many more playing years ahead of him. The Eagles would be interested in getting this done as they have already tried to trade him. The real question for me is whether it is a BS rumour or if the Bills are interested in a probable upgrade in the DT rotation and a position more or less secured for a number of years or if they are happy with the status quo and having more $ to keep the players nearing the end of their contracts. I do like the idea of this trade, personally.
  5. When I first heard of the shooting and eye witness reports the first thought was, "Yes! Got a terrorist scumbag". On reflection I then thought - one less terrorist or Darwin award candidate.
  6. Don't worry about apologising. The media is like everything else in life - it can screw up royally on occassion.
  7. Well seeing how the report is incorrect and the guy is not a bomb suspect I feel that it is unlikely that his arrest was 'blocked' by the UK.
  8. Your sarcasm sensor not working today?
  9. Not too much comfort there, but Piererson, Harmison and Jones made it a bit fun. Seems the Mosque thing was a hoaxer.
  10. Looks like the police / Hereford boys are getting some payback. One of yesterdays bombers shot (& probably dead according to eyewitnesses) multiple times at a tube station by men in plain clothes. Also Mosque in east London surrounded by armed police (& others, no doubt).
  11. If our pass defence improves, a good possibility with improved personel year on year for this (better pass rushing DT, Kelsay should improve, far improved safety tandem from the get-go) the the coaches should be able to gameplan taking this into account and despite a drop off in run stuffing personnel it is possible the run D could be better. Gray has shown to be a pretty good DC in his time here and has very good assistants so he MIGHT be able to compensate for losing Fat Pat. I guess this is one more we will have to watch for in the new season.
  12. Yeah, just like we outlawed all cars and trucks when the IRA were using these to bomb our cities.
  13. There is now some analysis that the bombs appear to be of the same type as the earlier attacks (according to the police) but may have failed to be effective because the homemade explosives could have degraded too much to be of much use to anybody (past there use by date, so to speak). With the forensics goldmine that these failed bombs will provide plus the amazing good fortune people have had with these things not going off we have been very lucky today. The arrests appear to be unfortunates walking around London with backpacks.
  14. I gave up on that ignorant drivel about half way down. All prime BS. Go to the other earlier link which has someone who actually knows what is what explaining things in simple terms why there are apparent anomalies, including explainatins to the 'evidence' presented on this pitiful rubbish.
  15. Love that link. Many thanks for posting it (not that I needing convincing the conspiracy theorists were kooks and idiots, but it made a very interesting read).
  16. You missed out the apostrophe in that's.
  17. Bombers = 3 Pakistanis and one Jamaican. Obviously all Johny Foreigners are this blasted Arab terrorist people. Indeed probably those 'Irish' fellows that blow things up are Arabs as well. And that Baruch Goldstein chappie, he came from that middle eastern kind of place as well, obviously another Arab. Ah, JSP enlightens my knowledge beyond all my previous expectations. I am most grateful.
  18. Jean Pierre Saudi Arabia Great, a cross between a frog and a wahabist. Terrif.
  19. Ask me in five years and I might have a reply to the question worth more than vague speculation.
  20. Rugby Sevens would have been a great game to have at the Olympics. A fair few nations are more than capable of winning the event and it is an exciting team sport (and the game is quick enough with short halves that would allow US TV to fit in all those adverts they are so in love with). Since Rugby did originate in the UK it would be nice to try and get this in for the Olympics as the home nation sport. Golf, on the other hand, is just a waste of a good walk.
  21. Loved that old bird, noisy as she was. Used to fly directly over my parents place, as a kid always looked up to watch her as she passed. A beautiful plane and I do miss her.
  22. For myself, hardly affected at all in real terms (other than some transport issues caused by the false alarm here in Swindon). No one I know personally is dead or hurt in this, as far as I aware, although it is heartbreaking hearing the desperate families trying to get hold of missing sons/daughters/partners, similar to the poor folks who were desperate to find their loved ones in 9/11. Emotionally, I would really like to have a chance to personally deal with those responsible and am seething inside with anger, but I trust the security services to track down these scum and deal with them appropriately. As far as 'taking it on the chin' is concerned, experience of this sort of thing is pretty deeply ingrained on the British, especially London. 'We' have been bombed before, fully expect it to happen again, and we are too stubborn to let it get to us as a nation that much. Experience is a wonderful thing when dealing with the nasty surprises that come up in life, mind you we would certainly prefer not to have had the experiences in the first place. Additionally you Americans tend to be far more optimistic people than us Brits, so tend to do better if things are more or less normal, that is a strength as a people we admire, we are far more pessimistic and half expect something bad to happen, so are probably better able to cope than you guys, IMO, when it does. The end of the Empire came about for several reasons. Not least of which was the realisation that since we had just fought a nasty war against a foreign tyrant to preserve our freedom to then go to the colonies looking for their own freedom and say 'tough' would be a little too much, especially as far as 'the man in the street' was concerned (elements did resist it, but WWII ended the DESIRE for empire). The fact that nationalist figures were appearing in many colonies then it was pretty obvious the Empire could not continue. There were other reasons, but I do not really want to go into a FFS sized post - this one is probably too long as it is.
  23. Probably a suspicious package. What we have here. Reports now coming in of 'dozens of dead'. Considering five/six bombs on tubes & a bus then I can see this being a really awful death toll. Bastards.
