  1. Really? 'News of the Screws' is a pretty terrible tabloid in the UK, real gutter press. Anything they print should be taken with a (very fine) grain of salt. And to play Devil's advocate here: From his perspective his daughter, if adopted, would have the opportunity for a life he can never even dream of providing for her. And with the money the rest of his family also have the opportunity to have a far, far better life than he could ever possibly provide otherwise. Unless you can mind read there is no way to tell his motives. With the area he lives in without adoption/money to move out there is a very good chance she, and perhaps her siblings, will die of some awful disease before they reach adulthood. Despite protestations from some elements of India's wealthy minority life can be pretty desperate for those unfortunate enough not to be born in the right caste. He very well may be a 'scumdog', but I would never, ever, take the NooW's word for it.
  2. Apparently he is getting better. Well, less 'about to kick the bucket in the very near future' better anyway.
  3. What Youtube was invented for... NSFW
  4. Revealed as one or two other things as well, IMO.
  5. I think the French now have some pretty strict rules about what is acceptable regarding the paparazzi. A few of the more stalker-like types have been prosecuted.
  6. PM sent. Always need new family members...
  7. Just to rub it in the latest series in the UK is about to start... I'm still pissed at Deadwood getting pulled
  8. We should sign one to play LG.
  9. No. As far as the signing bonus is concerned vis-a-vis the salary cap it is the same as any other team. The cash to cap has no bearing as to the rules governing the salary cap, it is an in-house thing. (I think this came up in another thread and was confirmed to be the case). However, using cash to cap, Peters signing bonus will count against that, all this year. Well, that is my understanding of it and I do not see why a team's internal spending limits effects the league wide rules.
  10. Peters currently has a cap hit of a little over $4 million, a new contract will probably add another $5 million or so to it (assuming the hit from the signing bonus will be spread over the length of the contract). Signing Peters will leave us with still some to spend.
  11. I choose Jessica Alba...
  12. Signed her to be LG for next season. Need to get a rottweiler in there after Dockery's lack of heart last year...
  13. Pretty much sums up a lot of the arguments here.
  14. No. I stated the Sacks Allowed stat is pretty much irrelevant, as others here have also stated. Sack on the other hand are important. It is your reading comprehension skills which are lacking, not my knowledge.
  15. Sacks allowed is a meaningless stat for reasons stated. Sacks do mean something. These are not mutually exclusive statements. (And JP would probably find a way to be sacked behind an All-Pro line blocking our DL of last year).
  16. Facts state? No, opinions do. Lies, damn lies and pseudo-statistics. Sacks allowed is a stat that is mostly meaningless, because unless you know the entire playbook of every team how do you assign fault. If two pass rushers both come from the left side and Peters only blocks one and the QB gets sacked does he still get blamed? Unless you know the pass blocking responsibilities as assigned in the Bills playbook how can you judge, most of the time? And even then when is it the LT's fault and when is it the QB's for holding on to the ball too long? Whilst watching one game and in the chat room here I was able to see first hand how fans have no idea what they are talking about a lot of the time. A sack occured, the LT was at fault and Peters was proclaimed to be totally arse. Mind you, the fact he was off the field at that time receiving treatment illustrated just how observant fans can be sometimes. Yes - Peters made some pretty noticeable mistakes, especially early in the season. But later on, once back in his groove, he played very well indeed. He made the pro bowl based on the fasct for most of the season last year for most of the plays he owned whoever he was assigned to block. Not merely got in their way, but physically dominated. Coaches and other players saw this (and DEs experienced it) and he made the Pro bowl. He had talent. And for most of the last season he played to that talent. So much so the Bills are in talks with his agent, looking to give him a major pay rise.
  17. Seeing how almost something like this discussion happens with just about every halfway decent player on the Bills at some point it says nothing about Peters. It does say something about (a number of) the posters on this board, however...
  18. Last season the Bills D was second or third in the AFC in tackles for a loss, I heard this repeatedly over the course of the year. It was not our safeties doing this but (mostly) down to our DL, and then mostly our two DTs, Stroud especially. DTs do not make THAT many big plays per year, tackles for a loss are normally as good as it gets, and we were very good at that. With Schobel fit (and/or a new pass rushing DE) our D could be close to becoming the unit we would like to see on the field. So Stroud was not just 'a big name' without the requisite performance. He did well last year. (And Williams held up his own).
  19. Pessimistic posts are one thing. It is rabid pessimism about EVERYTHING Bills related that tends to get on some people's nerves. There are some posters who will B word and moan about every single little thing, regardless as to whether they should be negative about that specific part of the team or not. Most people are realistic in their expectations, but hope for better things. They are aware the team has been decidedly average/poor the last few years and have had some pretty wretched seasons the last decade as well. But the way some posters have it you would think the Bills have just finished their third 0-16 record in a row and are about to to make it four... The non-stop negative posts can get irksome...
  20. I find him to be hilarious on occassion, unfunny at other times. He can play a pretty good psycopath, though. Hope he recovers.
