So all he needs to do is learn footwork, mechanics, decision making and how to read a defense how hard could that be. Not sure if serious.

How often are QBs asked to throw through a brick wall or over a mountain? How often are QBs asked to throw accurately at the WR? This is the difference between mayfield and Allen.. https://mobile.twitter.com/NickiJhabvala/status/956228021945618437/video/1

You can only get a good QB in the top 3
Batman1876 replied to maryland-bills-fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No but their predicted future success does determine their draft order. So drafting a QB high does not mean they will succeed but when teams all think that a guy will be successful they draft him high. I’m uncomfortable gambling that the Bills scouts are the best and were unable to find a hidden gem that everyone else missed. -

I agree they should wait and take a QB they think is pretty ok. Chances are it won’t work out but then whoever gets the job after they are fired can take another shot. That guy probably won’t work out either but eventually after a couple of coaching regimes and a couple GMs the team will eventually get a decent QB and they will have spent less draft capital. We just need to be patient wait another 15 years, it will all work out eventually. -
I say we will not draft a QB round 1

Are there any solid kickers we could pick up? -
Stafford had 61% his senior year so he is over the “reached 60% threshold”. And comparing a QB from 35 years ago is not useful. The game has changed a lot and as a result you expect higher completions. If you think Allen can be the first under 60% not to bust since the 1980’s good for you, I’m uncomfortable with the risk.
-
He has a great arm, and decent mobility. His footwork and mechanics are bad resulting in errant throws. Maybe he'll be the first QB in 30 years who never posted a 60% and still pans out but I don't like those odds. On top of that how do you think he will progress when we start him day one and his bad mechanics and footwork result in multiple bad games? maybe it won't effect him but maybe it will, happens all the time. In the end hes got huge bust potential and we are a team that is not built to help him avoid being a bust (competent starter and allowing him to sit).

This is what the Bills QB Board looks like imo
Batman1876 replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How did that argument hold up for Jake Locker? I saw he was good on the deep throws which is good because his short accuracy will result in the need for a lot of hail mary's. -
Willson and Brees are both franchise QB's under 6'2". The Best qb of the last 15 years with under 60% completions... Tyrod Taylor.
-
I agree, thats why I'm shocked that Baker's height gets brought up way more than Allen's accuracy.
-
Which QB barrier would you rather the bills break drafting a QB under 6'2" or drafting a QB who never hit the 60% mark?

Allen is a little raw? Awful completion %, limited success, bad footwork, bad mechanics. -
I think the Bills Have Rosen and Mayfield as their top 2 then Darnold and Allen. All the Allen talk is smoke, no one thinks he is a day 1 starter, everyone thinks he's raw and needs time, we have no one to start while he learns, it would be an ugly situation where you have to put a rookie whos not ready in and likely implode. Meanwhile Rosen and Mayfield both look to be day 1 starters. I think that Mayfield better fits the profile of players the Bills drafted last year, 4 year starters, leader of the team, success at the college level. Rosen has been said to be hard to coach and has injury concerns I think those put him behind Mayfield.

So are we the only team left in the Foles market?
Batman1876 replied to 947's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Eagles have a starter coming back from an ACL injury they need a backup more than a 3rd round pick. -
Peyton wasn't a can't miss prospect. He was hit with the "cant win the big game" "choke artist" label. So once every 25 year a can't miss guy comes along, he's sure to be taken 1st over all and the team siting at 1 won't trade that pick for anything. In other words don't expect it to happen. Because one team fired their coach for benching Eli and the other has Luck.

If we start next year with Peterman and the 5th best QB prospect as our QB I'll weep.

Rap Sheet: Bills pursuing Bradford for deal
Batman1876 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Bradford stays healthy he'd likely win a camp competition and play well enough to give the rookie a year to acclimate (like KC did this year). If he gets hurt then you still have the future of the franchise stepping in to take his place. Add in the fact that he'd likely be on a cheep "prove you can do it" contract and hes a perfect fit for a team that is clearly walking away from the draft with a top level rookie QB. Worst case scenario, rookie starts early in the season, best case scenario Bradford plays well and is a valuable trade commodity next year. That is win- win. -

With the 12th Pick Bills select

If we stay at 12 every other team that wants s QB will jump us to get him. We need a QB, every other team knows it. If we get passive we don’t get a QB.
