The only way to consistently keep winning is to get a franchise qb and the best way to do that is to trade up in the draft and grab one.  The qbs hitting free agency are hitting the market for a reason.  A true franchise qb does not become available through free agency teams lock them up at all costs.

A title makes you forget those things

The odds of winning one even with a stacked team are slim.  A lot can happen over the course of a year that can even derail a stacked team.  I think a team needs a good balance between win now mode and plan for the future.

Unless you have an better than average QB already on the roster having a stud WR is pratically useless

Exactly look at Josh Gordon on the Browns.  He is very good receiver, but that still didn't do anything for them in the terms of winning.

  4. Great athletes don't always make great football players.  There is no doubt in my mind every kid that gets drafted, even in the late rounds is a great athlete.  Bottom line is it does matter who you draft.  You need to find guys who are going to be great football players, not just athletes.  Above all though finding the great qb is what really makes or breaks franchises.

What kind of a moron asks someone something like this in a job interview. If Goodell was worth a lick, which IMHO he isn't, he'd find out right away who this was an make an example out of him. Pathetic.

Take a state police lie detector test for a job and you will see these questions are actually more on the sensitive side then what is asked at the conbine.

I personally think steratore is a clown.

Measures the First down mark with a piece of paper, smiles, gives props with witten, and yells first down? (Cowboys, raiders game)

That doesn’t really seem neutral to me. If I was a player/coach on Oakland I would have absolutely lost it.

I agree with you, Steratore is a joke.  This however, wasn't the first time a referee used an index card to measure for a first down.  https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/cowboys-raiders-nfl-ref-index-card-2017-12

Would it be crazy for the Browns to take Barkley #1, and then trade there #4 + whatever to get the #2 pick and take the top QB?

I think that would be a great move for the browns to make.  Not only do you grab the best player in the draft, you can get the top qb as well.  This would be the only sure fire way to grab Barkley and the qb of their choice.

I would surely draft a QB. I wouldn't overrate a QB and pay a ransom for him when he's not worth it. None of the QBs in this draft are as good as Wentz. If you want to trade 2 first in this years draft cool. If it was Luck or Wentz I'd agree with you guys but because it's not I wont.

    Draft a QB.

So you would just do what they have been doing the last 20 years.  Let the 5th or 6th rated qb fall to you and pray this guy is somehow different then all the other 2nd tier qbs of the last 20 years.  It's rare a 5th or 6th rated qb works out in the NFL.  So by going this route odds are in 2 years you would be back to where you began with no qb.

There is no way to justify giving up that much draft capital. 3 1st a 2nd?

If you land your franchise guy no one is gonna complain about giving that up.  This is why they made all the moves last year.  They can overpay to get their guy without really overpaying.  You really only lose a 1st next year.

It's just not going to end up working in the locker room if a starting QB has a personality with traits like...

Thinking he's better and smarter than everyone else.

Having no filter (strong opinions inevitably would lead to the alienation of about half the players in the locker room).

    Being simply flat out spoiled.

    Works for Brady quire well

Definetly! His accuracy is very good. Watch his tape not just highlights. He routinely hits receivers in stride.

But, he isn’t taller. If he makes it past pick 10 and I feel he might then he is going to fall probably all the way to us!!

Along with a huge chip on his shoulder to add to the one already there! I also would add that he has plenty of arm strength too. When he sets he can drive the ball.

Man I hope he does fall to us but it's a longshot.
