There are more than several good QB's in this draft, take a shot with Bradford.  Maybe draft DT Vita Vea at 12 or top OL, LB.

Buffalo's DT's VEA, Lotulelei with Williams, Washington rotating in.  If not Vea look at Harrison Phillips, Payne or Hurst at 22, if they last that long.

Do you feel there is a Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers in this Draft?  Hard to say, I look at Rosen, Allen & Darnolds numbers and I am not wowed.  Are you?  Yes, I am wowed at Mayfield's numbers that stack up for 3 years and don't care that he is 6'1", he is an inch taller than Drew Bree's.

My point is with so many upgrades needed DT, DE, LB, OT, WR, CB, young RB (back up) and yes QB, but I don't want to through a rookie QB in there right away no matter who they pick.

There are QB's like Mason Rudolph, Mike White and Luke Falk that I think are going to be solid QB's with some seasoning.

With 5 picks in the top 65, Buffalo could set themselves up for many years down the road.

    What are your thoughts?

How many times are people going to start a thread on this exact topic.  The overwhelming majority of this board has already said trade up and get the franchise guy.

The Young QB will not be playing till possibly 2019 but realistically 2020. Give all you picks up and a LT, lost a Center, that means you are very thin on the line. You think undrafted free agents will block for McCoy. Bill won't be able to strengthen line. More than likely they sacrifice 2018 for future and their QB if they move up to 1,2 or 3

Glenn barely played last year as it is no loss there.  Plus I can see Rosen being a day 1 starter.

Maybe then they could get Giants to take McCoy and 12 and 65, Giants want a RB. We are not getting to 2 unless we give up everything. The Bills have 6 positions they need with approximately 35-39mil of cap space. They have very few backups. This team needs at least 4 picks in the top 3 rounds. Your spending everything they have to get Rosen or Darnold. You have NO idea who Cleveland is taking at 1. Bills move up they will not wait till 4 to take a QB.

Why would you trade McCoy when drafting a rookie QB?  McCoy is the perfect security blanket for a young QB.

    Oh, you don’t say?

Again, I don’t care. Truly, i can’t fathom why fans grasp at this argument.

Do you lose something by taking him down?

What makes your opinion on this matter so high and mighty and ones against yours wrong?

Oops my bad. However, most everyone heard about it and found it ridiculous. " If I did it " . Of course he did. Pretty much everyone but deniers  knew he did.

The book was published you can buy it from wal mart right now.

Not true, Brady, Cousins, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Wilson, Foles, Wendt, Brees, Staton, Flacco, Taylor, Dalton, McCown, Cutler, Keenum, Carr, Garoppolo all where starters this past year 10th pick or later

Ryan, Newton, Trubisky, Stafford, Bortles, Rivers, Manning, Winston, Mariota, Luck Top 5 picks starting/ hurt this year, It could be said the better QB's are not in the Top 5.

I would take Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, over any of the Top 5 in list. Outside of Luck and maybe Rivers I would take Cousins, Wilson, Carr, Garoppolo over the other QB's in the Top 5.

You said 5th to 10th QB taken not 5th to 10th pick very very very big difference.  I mean that really changes everything.  Foles Stanton and keenum were all backups who only played due to injuries.  Cutler was out of the league until Tannehill blew out his knee.  Wentz was the number 2 overall pick.

Brees was the 2nd qb taken in his class

Rodgers was also the 2nd Qb taken

    Big Ben was 3rd

Carr was the 4th QB off the board

Believe me I'm well aware of the abnormal situation like Brady panning out on the league.  The odds are the more qbs you watch come off the board without taking one the worse your chances of finding a good one are.

People might not like it is true. This is why rookie QBs don't actually sit even when the HCs say they will. The HC thinks he can get by with a guy like Tyrod then will quickly realize whoops better throw the rookie in. Hue might not do that b.c he doesn't mind losing in a place like Cleveland.

No coaches just panic and try to catch lighting in a bottle to save their own job.

Hopefullly college serves its purpose to prepare one for their career. Playing QB should be similar. Big time college football isn’t low level stuff. Highly touted college QB’s are often ready to start in the pros on day one. With that said, sometimes college doesn’t prepare us for our careers very well.

I’ve had jobs that I wasn’t properly trained for, but I eventually learned how to do my job. Being ill prepared never “destroyed” my career, or

ability to improve. I’m simply responding to the idea that starting a guy too soon can ruin his career. I think this idea is relic of traditional coaching that should have been disproved by this point.

Difference being you get 4 years in college learning about what you're going to be doing in your job.  A college qb may be coming from a completely different system then he is going to be playing in at the NFL level.  Therefore he basically needs to learn everything over again just like his first day of college.

What about all of the current franchise QB’s who started from day one? If early struggles can mentally destroy a young QB, he never had the makeup to be a legit NFL QB. Phillip Rivers entire career has been a struggle, but he’s still a top flight QB. He hasn’t let a crappy franchise destroy his abilities. He might not be winning titles, but he hasn’t busted out of the league. NFL coaches can be stupidly conservative. How does starting a backup level QB benefit a team over starting a guy who could be the next Peyton Manning?

You have to follow the whole conversation from the beginning.  I was only stating sit a rookie if he wasn't mentally ready for the game.  Whether it be needing a little more time to diagnose a defense or learn the terminology of the offense.  Let me ask you this.  Have you ever started a job that you were not first trained how to do that job?

No different then you saying sitting helped. Hell coaches try to sit the rookies but they end up getting shoved in ASAP b c sitting does nothing in reality.

The big difference is you cant ruin a guy by letting him learn as much as he can in a back up role.  You most certainly can ruin a guy by starting him prematurely.
