Don't love or hate the deal. He's a good, not great player. Probably not worth what he's getting paid and I think the money would have been better spent elsewhere in a year where we have cap issues and bigger needs .
But I'm not going to complain about keeping a key piece of the defense, and it's one less hole to worry about.
Brown needs to be replaced , IMO. I wouldn't feel great about heading into next season with Davis as the number 2.
Curtis samuel would be such a good fit. And I think he's a great candidate for someone that should take a short term deal this year.
-Loaded free agent WR class, several guys ahead of him
-He's only 24 and will still have room for two big contracts after this one
-He didn't reach his full potential in Carolina. Why sign for 4-5 years when you can come to buffalo and ball out and then sign a massive deal
If we can get him for 2 years $20M I am all for it.
If we don't sign someone I like the idea of taking one in the second round, either with our current pick or trading out of the first.
You would think that would be common sense. Hopefully they do it.
I don't think the coaches did a good job in the playoffs at all. That could be what they are thinking. They could also be looking out for them and thinking this change would give them a better chance at landing a job.
Colts and Browns are going to be a problem. They have a ton of cap space and will be able to load up in FA. There will be so many good players available.
Hopefully more players will be willing to take short deals and the Bills can take advantage of that.
He has made a ridiculous amount of money. With the injury and a young family, it blows my mind that he would want to keep playing. Especially as a backup.
Hang em up, Alex.
They are #17 in the SB betting odds right now.
Winning a SB clearly not a priority for him. Not saying that's right or wrong, he would be kind of nuts not to take that deal from AZ.
Just funny bc everyone assumed it was.
Lol.
Everyone assuming he would want to chase a ring looks kind of silly now. He ends up going to the worst team in the best division in football.
At the end of the day it's all about the money.
Remember , before this year he was awful, and most people wanted him fired after houston, rightfully so.
Even this year vs the colts, it was like he was trying to blow the game.
I was much less concerned about losing Daboll than most.
I'm all for it, he's a perfect fit for this offense.
Would much rather spend money on 1 curtis samuel than 4 washed up, average vets that will have 0 impact.
