Having lived in the Philly area for almost 20 years, the the NY area for 30 years and now FL for 3+ years, I can agree with what you are saying to a degree but my personal experience has been the degree of backwardness is unheard of here in FL in some areas.....I used to officiate football in NY and was in some real backwards areas near the PA border that were downright frightful but the absolute dumbest backwards folks I have met so far and I am sure I have missed a few along the way but the cake is taken here in FL, GA and SC. Can't speak for KY, TN, MS, AK or LA.

Yup....just as many dumbazzes here in FL as there are in Cali....or really any state for that matter....but there is a special kinda redneck stooopidity found in southern states - that I will say for sure......

Cool topic and some great replies. I grew up in Philly, never really like the Iggles but they were the home team. As a kid I liked the Raiders.....was a tough time in our house when the Raiders beat the Iggles in the SB XV!! I always tell everyone my first words were Dallas Sux! Not huge WFT not NYG fan either......the way my parents rooted is why. I then moved to Rochester NY. I had a co worker that was a DIE hard Bills fan, they were 2-14 then, actually 2-14 2x's in a row. He begged/pleaded with me to go to a game. Just go for the tail gate! Thank goodness I did. Ended up getting season tixs in 1986 and finally relinquished them in 2009. Been to a handful of games after that and then moved to Southwest FL 3 years ago. DIE HARD BILLS fan now. Amazing to me how many there are down here. Specially when all the snowbirds are here. I kinda sorta like TB.....that is until TB12. Never liked that guy, respected him but never liked him as a human. I root for ANYONE playing the Cowgirls I root for Stafford for sure I root for da Raiders - one colorful fan base there!! I root for Any Reid and Frank no matter where they coach now or in the future. GO BILLS!

Pitt and GB between them have how many SB's? THATS why......until the Bills get a few SB's they will be shat on.....not that I worry about these things.....

In September that bay area is like a sauna. If it is a night game it will only be in the mid to upper 80's with about a 85 - 90 % humidity. Day game? Direct Sun, 90+ degrees with 90+% humidity.....just evil.....you wanna go in November or later.....

Start drinking now.....this way when you die of heat exhaustion it won't be too bad.
