  1. I like him too, not sure of the fit. He is more of a box safety and he played mostly nickel corner this year. But the dude makes plays, tackles, and plays with that edge we are missing. The one other thing I will say about Ward is that he is just a couple of months younger than Poyer. It will be interesting to see what those guys get paid.
  2. Beane seems to want to come away with 7 picks, the full allotment. So I am guessing he will find a way to get it back. They have some work to do.
  3. The best player on that list is Bates by far. I think he will be too expensive. But not a bad investment. In terms of scheme fit I like Gardner-Johnson and Thornhill the most. Thornhill is the slightly better athlete and a little bigger. Johnson is two years younger and will be more expensive. I think either are really good replacements and both have that corner-safety versatility.
  4. Parham was an instant starter and up and down in terms of his play. I think he is going to be good. Ryan didn't play much and then was busted and suspended for substance abuse. Bruss tore up his knee in the preseason and missed the entire year. With the need at safety I thought they should have taken Nick Cross or Kerby Joseph at the time. edit: The lost 4th round pick hurt them (the one they used to trade up for Elam so he could be scratched for Xavier Rhodes.) In that 4th, not only did the Ravens get Jordan Stout with our pick, right after that pick Spencer Buford and Cordell Volson went and were quality starting guards on playoff teams. Zach Tom also went to the Packers and he played up and down their line. All three could start at guard for us and would be an upgrade.
  5. He's gonna go to KC and play with Mahomes, replace JuJu.
  6. Off that list, here are my thoughts: I think Poyer and Edmunds are our no. 1 targets. Outside of those two, I can't see us working in that top 50. Germaine Pratt makes a ton of sense as a Tremaine replacement. He's not as big as Tremaine, but makes up for it in instincts. He is a former safety turned linebacker and I just really always liked his game. His RAS was elite coming out as well. He is going to be cheaper than Tremaine. If Tremaine goes I think they also look at Drue Tranquill. I think Pratt is better, but Tranquill makes plays and will be cheaper than both those guys. he is a little older and has a bit less of a track record from injuries. A guy I have not seen a ton of people talking about is Juan Thornhill. A former corner turned safety who is very long, fast, and tackles. His RAS score was big time running 4.42. He has been a really solid contributor in KC since day 1 and the projection here is 5.5 million per year? I'll take it. The Bills were all over him pre draft but drafted Cody Ford instead :(. Finally I talked about it a lot on here, but I think their OL target should be Connor McGovern of the Jets. Plays center or guard. he is still young with a nasty disposition. Sign him, put Bates at LG and stick McGovern next to Brown. He is a former linemate of Mitch Morse and could potentially replace him if he decides to retire at some point. PFF has him at 7.5 per year.
  7. Nice work. If the board fell that way, I am taking Van Ness. I know everyone would hate it but he's going to be very good. I would also do everything in my power to trade down.
  8. Yeah I think our backup winds up being Case Keenum another year. I could see a returning Mitch Trubisky, Sam Darnold, or Kyle Allen when the Texans probably cut him after the draft. No interest in Bennett. Bennett is just a older, less talented Jake Fromm. He is really actually older than Fromm which is amazing to me. I'd rather they draft and develop a guy at some point, with real upside. Still an older prospect, but I like his upside is Hendon Hooker. Probably avalable very late in the draft coming off that injury. I like his game and he has that upside that seems worth developing.
  9. That's the thing with a first round receiver. If we draft one, they are still going to start Davis and McKenzie and never really use the rookie. It's going to be tough for a rookie to come in and unseat Gabe Davis and we will continue to watch him drop passes. One of the major issues with the franchise is it's unwillingness to play rookies and their blind faith/devotion to mediocre vets. That has to change, otherwise they will be held back from putting the most talent on the field. It has stunted the growth of DL like Epensa, Rousseau and Basham, as well as Oliver. Cook is one of the most explosive players on the team, and he spent a lot of time on the bench. Heck hey started Nate Peterman over Josh. It's why they lost Teller, it's why they lost Hodgins, it's why Shakir wasn't ready to make that big play in the playoffs. Draft these guys and let them play.
  10. Seems like they have been doing this dance for a few years now. Trying to peg a RB to Buffalo. First it was that we were going to draft Najee Harris or Travis Etienne, then it was a million Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara rumors and Barkley rumors for awhile.
  11. Just add it to the list of things Leslie Frazier couldn't stop
  12. Was just about to say this. Every time I watched Pitre, he flashed. Being in Jacksonville before, you have to assume he helped develop Andre Cisco and Andrew Wingard. Wingard is a free agent and former teammate of Josh Allen's and mentioned on here a few times. Perhaps he is a fit that makes sense. I will say that the fact that Danna survived multiple coaching changes (namely two huge not so nice guys in Doug Marrone and Urban Meyer) says something about his perseverance and adaptability. He also learned a bunch under Perry Fewell, which means he is a Dick Jauron-Lovie Smith connect...that at least mean he is gonna know what Frazier wants.
  13. I would say the Dolphins and maybe the Falcons and Panthers. There are a lot of free agent backs this year, so he will wind up with one of the teams who lose their guy like NYG, Chicago, Carolina.
  14. He is a perfect fit for what Chicago likes to do and they have 100 million in cap, zero linebackers, and a QB on a rookie contract.
  15. Van Ness is a nice prospect. I will say that a lot of his pressures/sacks come from lining up inside on the guard on passing downs. This was something that the Bills were allegedly going to do with AJ Epenesa and Boogie Basham, and we have seen none of that. I think he is better than both of those guys.
  16. I really think Carolina will go all in on him. He is a legend down in Charlotte and was a huge Panthers fan growing up and I think he is a good match for Frank Reich. Their roster is pretty good, with aLT, RT, DJ Moore, Brian Burns, Shaq Thompson, Jeremy Chinn, Jaycee Horn...they just don't have a QB.
  17. I always liked Caldwell. But i think a young coach needs to bring in experience on the other side of the ball. Maybe he is the wrong guy, but if Ryans brings in this Niners QB coach or whatever, he is asking for trouble.
  18. I just don’t think he gets to our pick, but I’d love it. Dude I’m snot bubbling over here. Hilarious
  19. A comp I saw for him is Trey Hendrickson. I think he is longer and will test better.
  20. Love him. I watch a ton of Iowa to study OL stuff. Van Ness is going to go mid 1st. If he test well, gonna be top ten imo. I’ll take Jack Campbell though.
  21. Bryce Young and Greg Roman? Or Young and Bienemy? Brian Callahan and CJ Stroud? Ryans has to make sure he gets an experienced coach as an OC. If I am him I reach out to a Jim Caldwell and see if he would come aboard. Becuase whoever they hire as the OC is going to be the CEO of the offense.
  22. I hope he re-signs, but Tremaine is going to have a lot of suitors. First you have the Bears with their 100 million in cap space. The have 0 linebackers after trading Roquan Smith and Matt Eberflus asks a lot of his backers, similar to us. I think they chase Tremaine as a key cog in the middle of their defense. The Texans make a ton of sense. Once they hire Demeco Ryans, I would sign Tremaine and Dre Greenlaw and call it a day. Their defense is instantly rebuilt. They will draft a QB so they can spend big in other places. I could see the Giants make a play with that braintrust there. However, they have Barkley and Jones as UFAs. I think if Wink Martinddale is still there he is a great fit. If Wink goes to the Broncos I could see that happening as well. Tremaine was a Ravens fan, so he may want to play for Wink. As annoying as it might be, I think the Patriots will be in on Tremaine. they need to upgrade the athleticism at that position, which has been terrible for a few years. Our other AFC rival the Dolphins make a ton of sense as well, but they have some cap work to do. Tremaine's dad played for Miami. Finally, Dan Morgan in Carolina had a strong connection with Tremaine here, so i could see him trying to get him over there for whomever their DC becomes. They have cap work to do though, and need a QB.
  23. Agreed. I thought it would a bit more impact than it did. Is he saying he didn't really prepare enough and now all of a sudden he will?
  24. I will say this, the Rams dudes regressed when he left there. But I think a lot of the credit for how strong our O line was in his previous stay needs to go to Greg Roman and his scheme.
  25. Nope. McGlinchey is not that good. he is going to get paid a ridiculous amount because there is no one else out there. He is a little better than Spencer Brown right now. Not 14 million a year better. Screw that. And please don't respond with PFF garbage.
