yeah, the guaranteed number isn't bad for 3 years.

Seems like a pretty penny for a punter, but he was good so whatever.

Nyhiem Hines Restructures - Takes a pay cut to stay in Buffalo.
MrEpsYtown replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unless he takes a good pay cut he is gone. I hope he is gone anyway. Time to move on. -
Everywhere he has been they found pretty good linemen in the draft. They also found undervalued guys like Austin Corbett and turned them into something. Saffold was a big miss, and so was Tenuta, but some of the other bodies they brought in like Ryan Van Denmark and Tanner Owen are the kind of athletic upside linemen they should be looking for. In his time with the Rams, they added David Edwards, Joe Noteboom, Comenan Shelton, Brian Allen, and Kromer convinced them to trade for Austin Corbett. None of those guys were first-round picks. With the Saints Jahri Evans, Jermaine Bushrod, etc. I think in his second year here we start to see more impact. At least I hope so.

Nah you did the right thing. -
Last one: John Cominsky -DL- Lions DE who played all over the line and just made plays. Tremendous run-stopper who can get to the QB. Small school guy who had a mini breakout, he's a base end with some Trey Hendrickson kind of potential as a pass rusher. He blew up the combine a few years ago, but teh Falcons waived him as he was a weird fit in their new 3-4 defense. He's the kind of versatile defensive lineman this regime typically likes. If you watched a Lions game last year and wondered who the heck #79 was, the guy who was all over the field making plays with an excessive motor, that's Cominsky.

I would love to see the Bills make a run at Chauncey Gardner-Johnson or Byron Murphy as a corner convert. My gut, based on nothing, tells me they go after Juan Thornhill. Gardner Johnson and Thornhill were Bills pre-draft visitors in 2019. Here are a couple of more under-the-radar guys: Will Harris -DB- Another 2019 pre-draft visitor, Harris out of BC took a while to kind of find his role with the Lion. He is very versatile, playing all over the secondary, outside, nickel, and safety. Might there be something there with a full-time move to safety. 6-1, 207 with 4.41 speed, I could see them going this way. Again he would probably be a cheap add with some upside. He makes plays and stays healthy. A former teammate of Matt Milano, he was definitely hurt by starting his career in the Matt Patricia regime. Joejuan Williams -DB- I think he can convert to safety. Really considered a bust in New England, but perhaps a switch to safety and some of that McDermott DB dust might turn him into something. He had a nice career at Vandy and the Bills liked him pre-draft. 6-4, 211 with 32inch arms, he could be a very cheap competition add after missing 2022 with an injury. Would be kind of similar to the Poyer add coming off an injury.

Agreed. This reminds me of all those years when we had super talented rosters and still never made the playoffs because we had no QB. Brady always won the division with way worse rosters on paper than we had. QB trumps everything else.

Matt Milano Contract Extension, as per Adam Schefter
MrEpsYtown replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Definitely solid fundamentals, maybe a bit conservative. -
Just want to add, Fangio is probably one of the most overrated coaches around here. He's basically Leslie Frazier with impact players. Statistically excellent defenses, never won anything, failure as a head coach.

Micah Hyde or Baylon Spector. That’s where I lean. But let’s see where free agency takes us. -
For sure, but we have seen Miami go down this road over and over again and continue to be mediocre. McDaniel will never win anything. Fangio is a good coach, but he isn’t Vince Lombardi. Chubb cant get sacks and had one ok year in Fangio’s system. Wilkins is a great a player, and those guys on offense. Outside of that, I am not worried. Miami had 4 draft picks this year. Now they have 3. I think they are doing this whole thing wrong.

We did this same exact thing at the trade deadline when they got Chubb. It makes them better. They still are not better than us because at the end of the day they have Tua and we have Josh. Certainly makes them better. Side note, if they cut Xavien Howard I would ask him to come play safety.

Are these void years or a legit extension? -
Yeah he is the exact opposite of what we need. Charmin soft, can’t run block. I want no piece of him. I hated him pre-draft and still don’t like him! He looks the part but he doesn’t have it. I like the Callaway idea. He definitely has some upside. I wonder if they even tender him. Deonte Hardy is interesting as well.
