  1. I feel like Tyrell Shavers can do everything he can do at a fraction of the cost. I think he can take over that role, especially on special teams. The reality is Hollins played too much. Good role player who was asked to do too much. If we gave him 8 million I would be concerned.
  2. Brown going to Panthers makes me sad
  3. Is there like a Canadian conversion for speed?
  4. Hey no politics dammit! I kid I kid
  5. I tend to agree as I am happy with Dalton so far and if he stays healthy hopefully really breaks out. But Pat was a late 2nd round pick, and Dalton obviously a 1 we traded up for. Plus Pat has played with garbage QBs and Dalton is playing with the MVP. So point taken, but I do think that those differences are significant.
  6. And to me that’s what they want. Precision route running, catches everything, blocks. Team player. He will help.
  7. I just think he’s not their flavor of receiver. He doesn’t catch the football
  8. I’d give that to Benford
  9. perine is a third down guy, so if that’s what he is getting I am guessing Ty Johnson is a goner, which kinda sucks.
  10. Somebody on the board the other day said there will be some serious sticker shock. He was 100% right. Sorry u can’t give credit specifically. But these are some crazy numbers out there. I’m ok grabbing one big fish and waiting out the rest of this.
  11. Yeah but think of the fun there will be with a headcase like George Pickens and a diva like DK Metcalf. Especially when Rodgers throws every pass to the tight end Friermuth.
  12. I actaully like this for the Bears. Their achilles heel has been their O-line. Dalman is a pretty good, young, smart, ascending center. They traded for Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney. They are trying!
  13. I guess it depends on what could be considered a big move...Hendrickson would be huge. Josh Sweat would be a huge get. Jevon Holland as well. I'd love a guy like Tre'von Moehrig or Andre Cisco. In terms of offense, I am not sure where they could go aside from a guy like Palmer. Maybe Kupp, which would be considered a big move.
  14. yeah I assume mostly bargain bin stuff with all the big extensions i would love Ward actually.
  15. My guesses of what could happen... Defense: DT - Bobby Brown III. Kinda feels like a guy who could be their big splash. Joe Marino talked about it a ton, but he is a perfect fit. CB - Eric Stokes. They had a bunch of interest in 2021 pre-draft. 4.29 40 with upside despite numerous injuries. DE - Payton Turner. Former Ryan Nielsen prodigee who has not put it together. But maybe interesting super buy low. Safety - Ifeatu Melifonwu. Another guy they liked pre-draft. He has some interesting traits and is a former corner. There is some Micah Hyde there, slower corner who moved to safety, plays some nickel and has made an impact at times. Offense: WR Josh Palmer...a ton of Joe Marino stuff on how well he fits. I'd be down with it. That's all I got
  16. With this regime? Not likely, but with JA I think you always have a chance!
  17. How funny would it be for them to go after Darnold again? Moving on from him destroyed their franchise. They forced the Zach Wilson pick, and some truly special players went early in that draft. They could have kept Darnold and drafted Jamar Chase or Micah Parsons, or Penei Sewell or Patrick Surtain and could have skipped this terrible Rodgers experience. Then they took Elijah Moore round 2 and passed on Landon Dickerson, Jevon Holland, Creed Humprhey...moving on from Darnold was an awful move for them. In theory they could have come away with Chase or Parsons or Sewell, plus Vera-Tucker and Dickerson or Humphrey.
  18. Yep. He was a massive reach as a guy who really didn't put up sack production in college. Elam was the same idea...they drafted measurables and potential and a lot times that busts. Same with Groot, measurables not production, but it happened to work out. (I always add the kernel, that with Groot that there are many stories that they were going to draft Eric Stokes there, who has also been a bust.) And it happens with everyone around the league for sure. including the Chiefs and the Eagles, two teams widely considered to be the best draters. My problem with the Elam selection is that this regime backed themselves into absolutely having to take a corner, and got jumped for an excellent one by our hated rivals. Plus they took a man corner who struggled in zone and was a bad tackler for their scheme which requires zone acumen and tackling ability. And they traded up for him, picks that turned out to be Tyler Linderbaum and Jordan Stout. Just a God-awful process all around. Not to mention three all pros when right after they picked. But you are 100% right that teams miss on guys all the time. Hopefully they can plug holes in FA and truly draft BPA this year.
  19. I think both are tricky cases. Cook has been a very valuable back for us. However, he is not an every down player. I am not sure what he would command on the market as RBs still struggle in free agency. In my mind, if we just played Ty Johnson full-time, I am not sure the impact would be that much different. Excellent player but I really don't know what the play here is. Benford is the opposite. He is a really good player who plays a position the league typically overpays for. It would make sense to try and extend him, but what is that number? He has also dealt with some injuries so that is a concern and he is playing in a defense that is tailor-made for his abilities. I am not sure where they go with either. I am kind of ok with extending either or both. I am also ok with waiting it out on both.
  20. I would be down with Reddick as a hired gun to get sacks as he certainly has something to prove....depending on the price. Young I would do on a vet minimum type deal to see if there is anything there. I don't think Sweat is happening. Hendrickson is probably my favorite possible move at this position, but it seems unlikely to make a trade with the Bengals. Buy low on a guy like Matt Judon? Maybe. A young guy who was overdrafted and is a bust Payton Turner played for Nielsen in New Orleans, but hasn't had an impact. Maybe there is something there as a depth guy who needs a change of scenery. He has the typical length and size this regime typically likes.
  21. It's just classic mythic structure. The thirteen-second game was the turning point and if that game ended differently everything would be different for this franchise. Right now we are living in a Shakespeare tragedy, because of a tragic flaw...terrible coaching decisions, we can not get over the hump. But there is still hope that Josh is our hero and will help us overcome our flaws. There can still be a happy ending here.
  22. It was a swing and it was working before the injury. Beane needs to make more moves like this to get impact players on both sides of the football.
  23. He’s a 50/50 guy. Moves around in the slot and flanker. I feel like he’s more of what they typically look for. Coleman X, Shakir slot, Kupp flanker and then you have Samuel moving around as well. Versatile and while he is on the downturn, I think he’d play well with Josh. He’s a great route runner, catches everything, blocks really well. All things being equal, I prefer him over most of what’s left, though the internet thinks he winds up in Jacksonville with Liam Coen. I do like Josh Palmer and Lockett as well.
  24. Feels very Emanuel Sander-ish, which is fine. I still feel like Kupp is the guy. Maybe Palmer, but Lockett makes sense.
