  1. Ah I had my years mixed up, that was the year before. Thanks!
  2. I wouldn’t necessarily say busts, but they have not drafted high impact players. KC of course has drafted some duds to go along with their hits, but they have gotten impact from various places in the draft. I give Reid a lot of credit though with the way he fixed that offensive line. They were so bad in the Super bowl vs Tampa so he replaces all five starters, including his franchise LT of ten or so years. He trades for Brown, signs Thuney and drafts Humphrey and Smith in the same draft (Nick Bolton too) and elevates Wylie to a starter. He wasn’t worried about hard feelings. He jettisoned an entire unit in one offseason and fixed it through trades, good drafting, and free agency. This is something McDermott has not been willing to do. 2020 Super Bowl: LT: Eric Fisher LG: Stefen Wisniewski Center: Austin Reiter RG: Laurent Duvernay-Tardif RT: Mitchell Schwartz next season: Brown, Thuney, Humphrey, Smith, Wylie
  3. Thankfully no Saffold 🤷‍♂️
  4. Hall is an Andy Reid/Doug Pederson guy. This makes a lot of sense on the surface.
  5. You have to remember that at his roots, Ken Dorsey is a 1 back spread coach who came from the world of Dennis Erickson which has some Air Coryell concepts. That was designed to push the ball down the field and get chunk plays. As much as they say a lot was kept the same on the transition from Daboll and his E-P system to whatever Dorsey was doing this year, I simply don't believe it. The offense just looked so much different. Reid is a tried and true west coast offense guy. Those short routes are the blueprint of the whole thing and Mahomes and Kelce are great at attacking that section of the field. If you want that, hire a west coast guy. Dorsey is going to continue to push the ball vertically.
  6. I mentioned him before, but Ricky Proehl is set to coach as an assistant in the XFL. I would think he gets a call. I hope they don't go here, but David Culley could get a re-dial. Cam Turner could be an interesting fit as a younger guy in the game. He worked under Dorsey and Proehl in Carolina and is Norv Turner's nephew. I'm good with this if he brought Deandre Hopkins with him from Arizona. As much as I don't like him I kind of wish they would think outside the box and bring somebody like Steve Smith in, somebody with some fire and passion.
  7. Ricky Proehl on line 1?
  8. This is kind of where I am at honestly. I like Tremaine. I don’t think he is going to get much better, he is solid. And he will get a big contract, but I think it will have to come from a team with cap and a rookie contract QB, like the Bears. Or the Texans. Maybe he can be Ryans’ Fred Warner light. That’s the type of situation in which a team can splurge on a off ball backer. If that is the case, Tremaine’s replacement probably comes via draft.
  9. Yeah this is why PFF is BS to me. That info does not reflect what I watched. Sorry. Its cute info. It doesn’t actually equate to anything.
  10. Yeah interesting guy. He’s very much a unicorn like Tremaine. Sanders is a bit light for my taste, as he could stand to gain 15-20 lbs. But the dude can ball. I love Jack Campbell just because his instincts are ridiculous. I am interested to see these guys and Simpson, and Noah Sewell’s numbers at the combine.
  11. I mean I like his hire. Dude is a good coach and knows what McDermott wants. He developed Thomas Davis, Kuechly, Shaq Thompson. When he was with the Browns Joe Shobert had his best year and turned it into a huge contract. Like Joe Danna, Al Holcomb is a guy who learned a bunch under Perry Fewell, so more than being a Carolina guy, he’s a Ron Rivera-Lovie Smith guy in that Tampa 2 world. Honestly I think it could be one of two things..either Holcomb is being brought in to help implement some more of McDermotts stuff waiting to replace, or he is there to assist Frazier, essentially doubling down on it. With these hires you are probably getting further away from the Jim Johnson world and closer to the Tony Dungy world.
  12. I could see Shaq. I think if he were signed he would replace Taron Johnson in a lot of scenarios with 3 true backers. If you signed Shaq to replace Tremaine and played Milano, Shaq, and Johnson in that 4-2-5, that is a very small LB corps. I don’t hate it, but I think we might have even more issues with stopping the run. Now if you added Shaq and say Anthony Walker Jr to play the mike, you play Milano-Walker-Shaq and when you go to nickel Johnson comes in for Walker and Shaq and Milano are your pass defenders. I would love to see the Bills play more situational defense.
  13. I may be going out on a limb here, but Cole Beasley doesn't seem like the "mentor" type. And McKenzie can't be a mentor. Like what is his training called? How to drop passes and trip all over yourself?
  14. I saw an article talking about Adam Thielen being a possible/likely cap casualty. That guy would make a ton of sense here as a big slot type and he would be a terrific fit with Josh. He’s big with great hands and his route running is amazing. He becomes your number two and he and Diggs can push inside in different situation.
  15. There are some true garbage players on that field for the Bills on that clip.
  16. I like Shakir a lot and think he will get better with more reps. I also would like them to sign Scotty Miller as competition. There is something more there. Lots of deep speed and short area quickness and has made some very big plays in the past. His production fell off as he was pushed down the depth chart, but he could be a cheaper, younger version of Zay McKenzie who can also make some plays down the field. RAS doesn't like their size, but Miller's numbers are comparable and will be cheap. I do not want them to draft a slot receiver.
  17. I like him too, not sure of the fit. He is more of a box safety and he played mostly nickel corner this year. But the dude makes plays, tackles, and plays with that edge we are missing. The one other thing I will say about Ward is that he is just a couple of months younger than Poyer. It will be interesting to see what those guys get paid.
  18. Beane seems to want to come away with 7 picks, the full allotment. So I am guessing he will find a way to get it back. They have some work to do.
  19. The best player on that list is Bates by far. I think he will be too expensive. But not a bad investment. In terms of scheme fit I like Gardner-Johnson and Thornhill the most. Thornhill is the slightly better athlete and a little bigger. Johnson is two years younger and will be more expensive. I think either are really good replacements and both have that corner-safety versatility.
  20. Parham was an instant starter and up and down in terms of his play. I think he is going to be good. Ryan didn't play much and then was busted and suspended for substance abuse. Bruss tore up his knee in the preseason and missed the entire year. With the need at safety I thought they should have taken Nick Cross or Kerby Joseph at the time. edit: The lost 4th round pick hurt them (the one they used to trade up for Elam so he could be scratched for Xavier Rhodes.) In that 4th, not only did the Ravens get Jordan Stout with our pick, right after that pick Spencer Buford and Cordell Volson went and were quality starting guards on playoff teams. Zach Tom also went to the Packers and he played up and down their line. All three could start at guard for us and would be an upgrade.
  21. He's gonna go to KC and play with Mahomes, replace JuJu.
  22. Off that list, here are my thoughts: I think Poyer and Edmunds are our no. 1 targets. Outside of those two, I can't see us working in that top 50. Germaine Pratt makes a ton of sense as a Tremaine replacement. He's not as big as Tremaine, but makes up for it in instincts. He is a former safety turned linebacker and I just really always liked his game. His RAS was elite coming out as well. He is going to be cheaper than Tremaine. If Tremaine goes I think they also look at Drue Tranquill. I think Pratt is better, but Tranquill makes plays and will be cheaper than both those guys. he is a little older and has a bit less of a track record from injuries. A guy I have not seen a ton of people talking about is Juan Thornhill. A former corner turned safety who is very long, fast, and tackles. His RAS score was big time running 4.42. He has been a really solid contributor in KC since day 1 and the projection here is 5.5 million per year? I'll take it. The Bills were all over him pre draft but drafted Cody Ford instead :(. Finally I talked about it a lot on here, but I think their OL target should be Connor McGovern of the Jets. Plays center or guard. he is still young with a nasty disposition. Sign him, put Bates at LG and stick McGovern next to Brown. He is a former linemate of Mitch Morse and could potentially replace him if he decides to retire at some point. PFF has him at 7.5 per year.
  23. Nice work. If the board fell that way, I am taking Van Ness. I know everyone would hate it but he's going to be very good. I would also do everything in my power to trade down.
  24. Yeah I think our backup winds up being Case Keenum another year. I could see a returning Mitch Trubisky, Sam Darnold, or Kyle Allen when the Texans probably cut him after the draft. No interest in Bennett. Bennett is just a older, less talented Jake Fromm. He is really actually older than Fromm which is amazing to me. I'd rather they draft and develop a guy at some point, with real upside. Still an older prospect, but I like his upside is Hendon Hooker. Probably avalable very late in the draft coming off that injury. I like his game and he has that upside that seems worth developing.
  25. That's the thing with a first round receiver. If we draft one, they are still going to start Davis and McKenzie and never really use the rookie. It's going to be tough for a rookie to come in and unseat Gabe Davis and we will continue to watch him drop passes. One of the major issues with the franchise is it's unwillingness to play rookies and their blind faith/devotion to mediocre vets. That has to change, otherwise they will be held back from putting the most talent on the field. It has stunted the growth of DL like Epensa, Rousseau and Basham, as well as Oliver. Cook is one of the most explosive players on the team, and he spent a lot of time on the bench. Heck hey started Nate Peterman over Josh. It's why they lost Teller, it's why they lost Hodgins, it's why Shakir wasn't ready to make that big play in the playoffs. Draft these guys and let them play.
