it’s a composite score that molds together size, speed, strength as a projection at his position. Just to add, Spencer Brown’s 3 cone drill was better than Zay McKenzie’s at 6-8, 311. That’s a short area agility and change of direction score.

Nah I disagree. I really could not care less what he does. I actaully think there are better players to be had in the draft and FA. His career was nowhere before he got here, he became something here and if he goes to Miami he will 100% regret it and get cut in the next 2 years. Sometimes the fit is more important than a lot of the other ancillary parts.

Jersey Number Changes: A Way Too Early Topic
MrEpsYtown replied to TheyCallMeAndy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sounds like the pitch for Brokeback Mountain 2 -
These guys should just look over at Jordan Phillips and Shaq Lawson and read the situation. Poyer is a difference maker in this defense. He may not be a difference maker elsewhere. Sure he will get a bag, but his career will toil in relative obscurity and he will be cut in two years. And seriously, people are afraid of the Dolphins?

Does Barkley give up 5 to Elam? Greg Rousseau wore 15 in college. Perhaps if Kumerow is not back. -
I use that every day. Love it

Shakir Training with Moulds
MrEpsYtown replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall
In terms of his blocking, I give him a little bit of a pass because he didn’t do much blocking at Boise because he was always the one with the ball. I think for a guy who played as much as he did in college was coming in a just a but raw. I think he will come around. He is a really good athlete (terrible 3 cone is probably why he dropped in the draft) and plenty strong with 16 bench reps. It’s likely a footwork/timing repetition thing. -

If there is a silver lining to Shakir being on the bench a bunch and dropping that pass against Miami, he seems like the type of dude who is going to put in the level of work needed to make sure that never happens again. -
Some more Jack Campbell…literally doing things in run and coverage I have never seen TE do. The zone drop, coming off his primary responsibility and picking the ball off is Luke Kuechly type stuff. I think he will blow up the combine a little. People kind of brand him the dreaded “lunch pail” moniker that implies he is unathletic. I think he is more athletic than people think. I want this player on my team.

Anyone else remember Dog Boy on MTV’s liquid television?

If JP Losman turned into a good coach, the sky is the limit for pretty much everyone else with a pulse.

Honestly this probably wins the thread. It is hard to operate a salary cap if the entire defense is first round picks with eventual 5th year options or guys on second contracts. There has to place somewhere where you can find cheap starters, and off ball linebacker is probably one of the better places to find guys cheap. Offensively that place is running back and slot WR. Finally, I will say that this regime needs to stop paying a premium for special teams production. Like everyone else does, simply use backup linebackers, DBs, and WRs to do the job. Maybe splurge on one guy, not 3-4.

I think he started as a true freshmen at USC, so came out pretty young. It is crazy.

Nonsense speculation from a talking head begging for attention
MrEpsYtown replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t think he is going anywhere, but just for semantics, Diggs for CeeDee Lamb…who says no? I think it’s close -
Yeah I think they will go vet, but not dirt cheap vet, middle/high tier. Germaine Pratt, Drue Tranquill, Cole Holcomb, Leighton Vander Esch, Anthony Walker Jr, Bobby Okereke…any of those guys can come in, don the green dot make the calls etc. They also fit the scheme. One outside the box trade idea is Zaven Collins…I’m guessing the Gannon is going to want to bring TJ Edwards over to run his defense. Maybe Collins becomes available. I think there a couple of guys in the draft who could step right in an start right away, make all the calls and have the trust of the staff right away and those are Campbell, Simpson, Sewell. The rest of the guys probably won’t be able to step right in as a starter right away, that’s just my opinion. I think, if Edmunds is gone, one of those guys is probably his replacement, young vets or rookies.

Yep thats my guy. I been flooding this board with that suggestion. Love Pratt.

Bills sign S Zayne Anderson to a 2 year deal
MrEpsYtown replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
His workout numbers imply that he should be able to play there with a 4.44 forty and a big time 3 cone. -
You get one player this offseason…who is it?
MrEpsYtown replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really want them to sign Germaine Pratt. He just brings something different. To me he seems like a missing piece type player who brings toughness and passion. In an ideal world you find a way to get DeAndre Hopkins. -
100%. They also continued to draft guys like AJ Klein and used a first round pick on Shaq Thompson.

Von Miller's injury, and pass rush needs this offseason
MrEpsYtown replied to Yantha's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah I like this. Whenever he plays against us he wreaks havoc. Not much of a base end, but if he get out there on 3rd downs and rush the passer opposite Von, I think it helps and takes a little pressure off the rest of the guys. -

Lindstrom is playing on the 5th year option. Love this guy and a perfect fit, but the Bills would have to trade for him. How likely that is? I’m not sure, unless he says he wants out, or they need to clear cap to add an expensive veteran qb like Carr or Rodgers…I think they extend him. -
Would you guys trade one of Elam/Benford/Jackson?
MrEpsYtown replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t think Jackson is tendered. As the season wore on it was clear he was really no longer in their plans. I don’t think anyone in the league will pay him 2.6 million and give up a 7th round pick. Unless they have good knowledge that there is a team out there switching to a zone scheme with loads of picks and cap space see him as a starter. He would be grossly overpaid for his role here, especially considering they will likely add depth in the draft. Backup vet corners make about 1 million to 1.5 a year. In that same vein, Siran Neal is overpaid as well. -
On IOL…I think this is where they make some sort of upgrade in both FA and in the draft. To me the no 1 target should be Issac Seumalo. He just excels in everything this team is looking for in their offensive linemen. He excels in a zone scheme and he is very good in pass pro. He also has some versatility as he started a lot of games at center in college and played both guard positions and center as a pro. He has settled in at RG in recent years. I think he is an excellent player who would fit like a glove in between Morse and Brown. My one fear is that he struggled early in his career and was at his best between 2 all pros in Kelce and Johnson. If I were a betting man I think he winds up in San Francisco or with the Raiders or Chargers on the west coast for the Hawaii native and Oregon State alum. PFF projects 3 years 33 million. Likely out of our price range. I really like Connor McGovern, the Jets center from Mizzou. Good buddies with Mitch Morse from college, I think he is also a perfect fit at RG and moves Bates to LG. He can play center as well which frees Bates up to be exclusively be a LG. McGovern has a level of nastiness in his game that has been missing here. He has been super durable and scored an elite RAS coming out of college. PFF has him at 3 years 22.5 million, which I would do. However, there is enough of a need at center around the league that I think he winds up playing center somewhere. What I think happens? I think we sign Kromer guy David Edwards to play LG or RG. A former Wisconsin RT who moved to G and had some high quality years before having a down year and getting hurt this year. You may recall week one, Jordan Phillips making a sick inside swim move embarrassing a guard and sacking Stafford. That victim was Edwards. He’s a dude whose play fell off a bit without Kromer and I think a reunion makes some sense. This would be somewhat disappointing for a lot of people, but there is upside with Edwards and he could come cheap off a lost year. He is still pretty young at 25 with 46 starts under his belt including a super bowl. He is big and long, very strong…a good athlete (former HS QB recruited as a TE). Again, I stick him at RG and let Bates play LG. Edwards was in line for a big contract before this season went off the rails a bit with concussions. I think it’s a risk, but I think they strongly look into him. Obviously everyone talks about Dalton Risner. I just take a pause on him as they had multiple meetings with him pre-draft and still traded up to pick Cody Ford in front of him. I just don’t think they love his game. Maybe their opinion has changed. He is a solid player and I would be happy with him, I don’t think they go down this road and I think he is going to get a bloated contract he doesn’t really deserve imo. Not a fan of Ben Powers. I think he’s fools gold and he’s going to probably get paid. He’s massive, but playing in a run heavy gap scheme and isn’t very impressive run blocking. Then he doesn’t give up any sacks (but on a team with Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley as QB that has to be looked at with a grain of salt. Playing between Ronnie Stanley and Tyler Linderbaum and he suddenly had a career year? Buyer beware. This is a case of PFF stuff not passing the eye test for me imo. I would also look into Nick Allegretti. High RAS guy who can play guard and center. He has a very nasty game and has been good depth for KC. Every time he was on the field for them I thought he looked good. Nate Davis also makes sense, though I am a bit iffy on him as well. I would also consider Michael Deiter to be your back up interior guy who can play both guards and center. Again, freeing up Bates to be a LG only. He is another Wisconsin guy and former teammate of Edwards. Finally, if Tampa cuts Shaq Mason, I would be all over that. Always loved his game and he is a great fit. Dream world? Seumalo or McGovern plus a 3rd or 4th draft pick. Realistic world? Edwards, Deiter, 3rd or 4th round draft pick. One last point, when it comes to the draft, I look mostly at OTs who will kick inside as that has pretty much been this regimes MO (aside from Teller). Some college tackles who are better off kicking inside: Cody Mauch, Andrew Vorhees (played LT and LG), Tyler Steen, Nick Broeker, Jaxon Kirkland, Matt Bergeron, Curtis McClendon, Jordan McFadden, Braeden Daniels. That’s where my thought process is at this moment.
