  1. I think he is for sure. I’m just happy the Texans kept him instead of trading him to a good team in the AFC.
  2. But that doesn’t have to be in the first round. Lane Johnson was a top 5 pick in a quarterback-less draft. The rest? LT 7th round LG 2nd round C 6th round RG 3rd round Find good players who fit your scheme. Aside from that terrible Andre Dillard pick and Danny Watkins, both terrible busts in the first round, the Eagles have spent draft capital on their defensive line men and WRs.
  3. You could not possibly be more wrong man. You want to talk about knowledge? I’m talking about facts. I’m not going be a child and say “stupid” but here’s a lesson….. First you are ignoring the fact that Brandon Beane was the director of football operations and assistant GM there. You think he had no influence on the draft? Fact….if you go back from 2000 to 2022 the Panthers drafted a first round linemen 3 times. In 2003 the Panthers draft LT Jordan Gross. In 2022 the draft LT Ewonu. In that 22 year span they used one 1st round pick on a non LT ONE time and he was a left tackle they moved to the right side. They draft Jeff Otah who they trade up for as a second first round pick after taking Jonathan Stewart earlier. Otah winds up being one of the biggest busts in NFL history and only plays in 29 games. Beane starts working as director of football operations in 2008, so let’s take it from there for positions they draft in the first round. Here is some factual information: 2008: RB, LT (Otah they moved to right) 2009: they dont have a first because the Otah trade, they draft Edge in 2nd. 2010: they trade down and take QB Jimmy Clausen 2011: QB Cam Newton 2012: LB 2013: DT 2014: WR 2015: LB 2016: DT 2017: RB Any of this look familiar? To think these guys didn’t learn their draft philosophies from their previous stop ludicrous. Obviously, the Bills have not drafted any OL in the first and their highest drafted OL is their 2nd round LT Dion Dawkins who was drafted before Beane got here. (Edit Ford was drafted higher but not here anymore and terrible.) Just to add, Cam’s line was not set when he got there. It was made up of Gross (who retired after 2013) 2nd round pick Ryan Khalil, and Otah (Otah only played 4 games with Cam). Then a bunch of later drafted guys and UDFAs. The only first round pick OL starter on their Super Bowl team was Michael Oher who was a left tackle and drafted by another team. So again, these guys aren’t drafting a RT or IOL in the first round unless a generational talent falls in their lap. In the 25 years that Beane has had real power and say, it was done once and it was a massive mistake. Whether it worked or any of us agree with them is irrelevant. I am stating, based on fact, that this is how they run things and the data supports that.
  4. None of us are! But we like to think we are! I was excited about Carter and he just had a terrible workout. So I think he will drop a ton.
  5. I am saying that the tackles who will be available at pick 27 will not be able to step in week 1 and be better than Brown. Maybe in a year or two. Those guys at the top of the draft like Johnson and Skoronski could step in right away, but like I thought with Jonah Williams, I think Skoronski is a guard.
  6. They also keep using first round picks on guards and right tackles. There is no boom in their strategy.
  7. Ah thank you
  8. Nope didn’t say the were mediocre. Read my posts you will see I am very supportive. I am simply saying that using high end draft picks on RTs and OGs is the path to being mediocre. We have never done that and not going to start now. Not sure why that was confusing…. They won’t do it. Fans can have their opinions, or they can pay attention to how these guys build a team. Drafting linemen in the first round at non valuable positions who aren’t as good as what you have makes no sense.
  9. I disagree. I think there are really good players at LB all over the draft. I think Campbell and Simpson are 1-2, Sanders is a unicorn who could get drafted before both, but may not be ready to start right away, then I think there is a little gap, I love Sewell, Henley…there are some very good players who are better than the guys from last year imo.
  10. You must have him confused with someone else.
  11. That’s just knocking him for being a big white guy from Iowa. His three cone was better than Isaiah McKenzie’s. He has the total package.
  12. And I think that is why they don’t make the move to draft RT early. You aren’t going to find a rookie who will come in and be better than Brown right out of the gate. Maybe Pete Skoronski, though I think he is a guard. As it currently stands I think the will be looking for offensive pkaymakers, a LB, and DBs
  13. Not happening. This regime, going back to Carolina has never done that. Drafting non elite IOL and RT in the first round is the best path to being mediocre.
  14. It’s funny that people wanted Cooks but not OBJ? Cooks has pushed himself out of a number of places. He’s a terrible teammate, been stripped of his captaincy and pushed himself out of New Orleans becuase he was complaining about Drew Brees and was jealous of Micael Thomas. He’s the biggest diva of them all, he just doesn’t dye his hair pink. I would take OBJ every day, every second.
  15. Pitt is stacking guards. They have Kevin Dotson, James Daniels, Mason Cole at center and just signed Nate Herbig. I’m guessing they cut somebody?
  16. Yep 100%. Have to find that balance. but elite pass rushers should go in the first and RTs and guards should not. Well, here’s the thing…OL can develop and get better by massive strides. Pass rushers don’t. It is so based on natural ability. You either have natural wiggle and bend to the QB or you don’t. Yeah they can learn new pass rush moves and things, but it is the position that relies the most on God-given natural traits. These OL we have with these ridiculous athletic traits can get a lot better. Our defensive ends are pretty much what they are. They need to find sacks.
  17. They like their line. I like them too. Why some fans continue to bang their heads against the wall expecting the Bills to replace the guys they invested in and believe in just doesn’t make sense to me. You want to mediocre? Start drafting RTs and guards in the first round. They aren’t doing it. PFF scores are meaningless when it comes to OL play. Additionally, Mitch Morse is not old for a center and the concussion narrative has been a concern amongst fans since day 1 and it has not been an issue. It it was a problem, he would retire. People on the board wanted Matt Paradis. What is he doing now? Issac Seumalo is the only free agent better than what we have. If they felt like these guys needed to be replaced, they would have done it earlier. They like their line, and people want to disagree…at the end of the day none of our opinions matter.
  18. At this point I do. I think they are going to hit the reset button there. I like this linebacker class a lot and there are a couple of plug and play guys. If its not Wagner I think its going to be a rookie. I mentioned him a few times, but I really like Anthony Walker as a stopgap, raise the floor. Outside or Wagner and outside shot Walker, I think the next guy is going to be a rookie.
  19. He went to a team that has 2 starting linebackers already and a top reserve. He’s going there to compete for a backup role. That leads me to believe we were not in on him.
  20. No shot. There is zero chance any of these guys on the roster are starting next year. Very begrudgingly, maybe, Dodson has a tiny chance because he has been in the system so long. It’ either Wagner, Anthony Walker, or a draft pick. That’s all that is left unless someone unexpected gets released.
  21. Do you really look at those ratings though? They don’t pass the eye test sorry. I like PFF for some stuff. Their OL grades are hogwash. They mean nothing. Sam Mustipher? Lol really? C’mon
  22. I am ok with the Elliot or Fournette idea now. Those guys aren’t my favorite, but they have something to prove, so you get them when their back is against the wall. They will be at their best. With each passing day the prices get cheaper and more vets will be released. Remember that their priorities don’t always line up with ours.
  23. I had him in that 5 role as a gunner who can make a catch or two Dawkins is so much better than Jonah Williams
