Draft Prospects with Private Meetings with the Bills
MrEpsYtown replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
You could have stopped here. If we get this, we are in great shape. The rest don't even matter. -
If the draft we're today...
MrEpsYtown replied to Floridagatorsbuffalobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's funny when I listen to these experts and podcasts and they get things all wrong. Like I was listening to the Buffalo Rumblings guys and they couldn't remember if Jerry Juedy was a first-round pick...really? Then they called him a 1-year rental, which is also incorrect...he has a 5th-year option in 2024. It is my understanding that the Rams released Bobby Wagner and he, therefore, has nothing to do with the comp pick formula. They can sign him at any time. -

We experienced this same song and dance last year on the board. Everybody wanted an RT or a guard like Zion Johnson or safety or Breece Hall, and there was this glaring hole at the corner spot with Tre being hurt and Dane being Dane, the one position that Beane completely ignored in UFA and people were convinced that they may go another direction, and it was so obvious they were drafting a corner. History is repeating itself here with the Mike position. Tyrel Dodson? Yeah ok, sure. He was released though no? He wouldn't count. -
Yeah, he is interesting but there is some risk there. Big recruit to PSU but sat on the bench and has only started 15 college games. I feel like he will be a better pro than he was as a college player, but you have to be careful how high you take him so you don't wind up with Adam Shaheen.

Also, the awesome amazing Bengals…their 2019 Draft, Germaine Pratt is all thats left. Jonah is a bust and requesting a trade. The Steelers, typically good drafters, Diontae Johnson the only one still there. What the Bills got out of Oliver and Knox and Singletary is actually pretty successful.

Except he runs a 4.5 and has great explosion numbers. But they are similar in size -
My whole thing is that people have been saying this about Morse since we signed him, again preferring Matt Paradis for some reason, who had been an injured mess. I remember like it was yesterday. Morse’s risk is no different really since he got here. They are very careful with him. Morse has been fine and I think he plays out his contract. If he were concerned he would retire. If the Bills were concerned they would cut him and take the cap space. I’m not worried about Mitch.

They signed Leonard Johnson last week. He’s keeping that pipeline rocking.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
MrEpsYtown replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they throw in Cam Thomas I’m in! -
Nah I get, but you still have to field a team, y’know
-
You definitely can't but the Bills' track record with Mitch Morse is pretty good. We would have never let Edwards return to play the way the Rams did They Tua'd him.
-
I don't think they will ever draft a center-only prospect. McGovern is the only projected starter who was and is a pure G/C. Even their depth guys were tackles. Dawkins, Bates, Morse, Doyle, Ryan Van Denmark, Van Roten were LTs, Edwards, Brown, Mancz, Hart and Boettger were Rts. They like tackles who move inside.
-
The way they are operating is very strange.
-
I know we make fun, but it is way easier to give up a pick or two for DHop if you know you have an extra coming.
-
I don't think that is a fair question in this instance. So far this offseason the Rams have lost: David Edwards Greg Gaines David Long Nick Scott Riley Dixon Baker Mayfield Their long snapper Their kicker Probably Taylor Rapp And Cut: Bobby Wagner Leonard Floyd Traded: Jalen Ramsey They will likely cut or trade Allen Robinson They don't appear to have much interest in retaining anyone.
-
We need to add to the O line was the claim all offseason, they are doing it. I don't see the problem. The guy has started 40-something games and started in and won a super bowl. I like him, Kromer likes him, and he's a Wisconsin lineman. I'm happy. Fun fact, he was an option QB in high school! McGovern-Edwards backfield coming soon!
-
Yeah, I really like Edwards and talked about it a lot. If healthy he could in theory really push Bates at guard.
-
Well nevermind. They just signed David Edwards.
-
You could still add released players and it would not count towards the formula. I could see an add or two there. In theory, you could add Bobby Wagner or Zach Cunnigham or Myles Jack Frank Clark or Leonard Floyd Michael Brockers or Al Woods I'm guessing OBJ doesn't count as he is a UFA for two years, but I am not 100% on that.

I get the feeling that Bernard was never drafted as a Tremaine replacement. He is not a mike. He was drafted to add depth and special teams ability while maybe eventually replacing Milano. They didn't have a backup will. Either that or he was drafted as the third linebacker in 3 linebacker sets to be the Shaq Thompson. With McDermott taking over the D, we could see more 4-3 under sets (Johnson would come off the Field and Bernard on...big nickel-type concept.) He was highly recommended by Dave Aranda and McDermott probably really wanted him in the building. Was it short-sighted or a bad pick? It is too early to tell. What makes it a bad pick is the guys they missed out on to draft him. IMHO he was not drafted to be a Mike...if they wanted a mike I figure they would have taken Leo Chenal or Brandon Smith who went a little later.

How long before a defense coordinator is signed?
MrEpsYtown replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just like the belief in Spencer bRown stuff, Beane was pretty clear that they won't add anyone from the outside and it sounds like McDermott is going to call the plays. I bet Holcomb or Bobby Babich will be the run game coordinator and Butler will be the passing game coordinator, doing all the grunt work with McDermott calling the plays on gameday. -
Me too and good point. But they are paper champions. Remember all those years when the Bills or Jets or Dolphins won the offseason. The Bills sign Mario Williams! Dolphins got the great Nick Saban and Daunte Cullpepper as a pairing. It never mattered because the Pats had Brady. It really doesn’t matter now because we have Josh Allen.

Yep forgot him thanks. I like him. Interesting, still young, athletic. Not sure what went wrong in Pittsburgh.
