Yeah maybe. Depends on who we draft in the first and how they do. But I don’t think Beane and co are done with Brown. Maybe they want to give him a full healthy year.

Yeah Wright is the next obsession here if we pass. Maybe we draft him, I dunno. But if we don’t there is a large contingent who will not let it go.

Jarvis actually was blocking for Kenny Walker, so if you watch some of his highlights, Jarvis is #75. Looks like he has some good qualities. A fine depth/practice squad type add.

Fits the type

Not being that guy and not calling you out, but I see this a lot. This is one of those things that people believe, but it is simply not true. Tremaine was an off-ball inside stack backer at Tech, doing exactly what he was asked to do with us. Most projections thought he would become an effective blitzer over time, but he didn't. Some projections also felt that he could become an edge rusher if he bulked up a bit, a 3-4 olb. He was supposed to be a sideline-to-sideline rangy inside backer. A more creative defense could have likely gotten more out of him by using him as more of a chess piece. Sanders is a little different. He was recruited as an edge rusher and played there at Bama. Transfers to Arkansas and moves to the inside backer, but still comes off the edge sometimes. The comp, to me, comes more from the raw nature of their game and the athletic profile. Sanders will be a better rusher than Edmunds will ever be, Tremaine had more coverage skills at this point, and both had/have issues with misdirection and run fits in the box coming out. Simpson is similar to Sanders in that he was an edge rusher and nickel slot player for the last couple of years. This year was his only year playing in the box as a stack backer, so there is some of the same rawness in his game and some of those same issues. Campbell has way more experience in the box and is a pure inside linebacker whereas the other guys are projections. Campbell has also been doing it much longer so there is a lot more film to dissect and highlight his flaws. The other guys are more unknowns because there is only one year film on each in the box. Cambell is better in every single athletic measure than Sanders and he is bigger with shorter arms. Simpson is shorter than both, but more stocky than Sanders with longer arms, and the same weight. Simpson beats both in the 40 and vert. Cambell posted a ridiculous 3 cone. The original intent of the post is indeed true. Pick your flavor. I am happy with any of those three guys. They all bring different traits to the table.

It did surprise me. That draft class was so weird and he seemed to have a lot of flaws in his game. It didn’t think he was going to be their guy. People were projecting Smith as the number 1 QB and most people were mocking Matt Barkley or Ryan Nassib in that spot. Some mocks had us taking Tavon Austin or Jonathan Cooper as well. Cordarelle Patterson was a hot one too. There were even some Mike Glennons in there. EJ wasn’t really on my radar.

I remember thinking about him as an early to mid two. I’m also curious to see where he was ranked early in the process before he “moved up boards.” I guess that was my original point in that post, that Campbell will start “moving up” as the draft gets closer.

Yeah I agree. I think it’s all about fit in the scheme today. But everybody's draft board is different. Also Dean went in the 2nd or 3rd I believe.

Tyler Steen, Alabama...it's so weird that I don't hear much hype on him. I guess if he had long hair and no teeth people would pay attention. I actually like him better than Anton Harrison and Cody Mauch...however, the thing with Steen is that he might be a guard. Very athletic with good length and he has some nasty to his game. Smart player too. He's the Bills style of player.

Charlie Jones - love his production, runs great routes, he's always open and he catches everything. He is on the smaller side and he's older, but he has great ball skills and makes contested catches. Guys like this have made 10-12 year career guys. He could be a bigger Cole Beasley who runs 4.4.

Looking forward to your edge rankings/analysis just because its such different flavors. The guys are just so different across the board, kinda like the WRs.

We have six draft picks, hopefully we dont blow one on a running back. Murray is a really good contingency plan, which he proved lat year. Played HS ball in Onondaga so maybe he wants to be closer to home.

142 yards with Rypien starting. Not bad Great vet who can still ball to have around on maybe the practice squad in case someone gets hurt.

Well Im being a bit tongue in cheek, but it’s true. He’s always had a strong lower have, his upper body does not look impressive. Tiny arms and forearms and his core and neck don’t look muscular there. Its not Dion Dawkins level, but for a QB it’s not impressive
