Spotrac: The Mother of All QB Offseasons
MrEpsYtown replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Bridgewater too. He's only 25 years old and seems to have a lot of upside. My concern would be the health of that knee and his lack of arm strength in Buffalo. As others have posted here, the injury was pretty devastating. He's going to have to take a 1 year prove it deal. -
What's the price to move up and get our guy?
MrEpsYtown replied to ProcessTheTrust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darnold did declare for the draft. In my mind it depends how they feel about Davis Webb and Kizer. If you are the Giants and could drop down and draft two stud o-linemen, you could be in the Super Bowl next year. If the Browns like Kizer as their developmental guy they can sign a Cousins or McCarron and trade down. If they traded with us they would have 4, 21, 22 and more. I'm not saying it's going to happen but it's not out of the realm of possibility entirely. -
Why doesn't the NFL change Defensive PI to 15 yards?
MrEpsYtown replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly this. It would ruin the game completely. I coach high school football and we teach our kids to commit PI if they get beat. There would be a ton more PI flags. -

Brees - NO Cousins - NYJ Keenum - MIN JG - SF Cutler - Denver McCown - ? Maybe Arizona Bradford - Washington My guesses for now. I think AJ McCarron winds up in Cleveland. Teddy Bridgewater or Bradford goes with Shurmur if he goes to Arizona. The other goes to Washington. -

I get that but you have to look a little deeper. Bowles and Mccagnan are tied at the hip and got short contract extensions to turn things around. If they draft a young guy and go through a 3-13 season they are going to lose their jobs. Dorsey was brought in to work with Jackson. The Browns have pretty much ignored Jackson and it hasn't helped. He clearly did not want to trade down all of those times and certainly did not want Cody Kessler. They have a young guy with great physical traits and potential in Kizer. Grabbing a veteran likely saves Jackson's career. -

Agreed. I do think he winds up with the NYJ. Denver is a great spot but the difference in cap space is huge. I do think there will be a sense of urgency for Bowles and Jackson to go veteran. I do think Elway wants a vet as well. -

I don't think Jackson sees McCarron as a back up, but Dorsey might. I think it depends on how they feel about Kizer, but Jackson is going to lose his job before a guy like Rosen or Darnold develop, so I think they go the vet route. Same with Todd Bowles. He obviously is not a fan of the young QB, and if they draft a young guy, he will lose his job before they are ever any good. I think Bowles and Jackson will push for veteran quarterbacks. With that said they can both outbid Denver significantly for Cousins if they want to. -
I think DiMarco is back and used properly this time. He spent some time as Daboll's fullback during his time in KC.

Great fit, but man the Jets and Browns just have so much more cap space. I think he goes to the Jets with Bowles not wanting to draft another young guy. I think the Browns go AJ McCarron for the same reason. -
I was thinking Dion Lewis. He's a free agent and would fit in really well with Shady. He'd be a great 1-2 punch and you could keep them on the field together since they are such great recievers. They are great friends and Lewis is from Albany, NY. Great fit and obviously familiar with Daboll.
-
Daboll is probably the guy McDermott wanted all along from the minute he was hired. There was probably no way Belicheat would let Daboll leave to go an AFC east rival, so when to Bama for a year to win a national championship and now he was free to go wherever he wanted. That's probably why this decision was made so quickly.
-
Two guys with Daboll ties available in free agency guard Josh Kline and tackle Cam Fleming. They could be our new right side.
-
I suppose we could see some Pats guys come over. Cam Fleming could be a target at RT, and Josh Kline at RG (I know he's a Titan, but former Pat). Even though I hate him, maybe throw a bone to Amendola to come and return punts and be a 3/4. I think Chris Hogan gets cut this year as well. Daboll coached Hogan in Miami as well. My target for Daboll would be Dion Lewis. Perfect backup to Shady (he has experience doing it) and he is a good reciever out of the backfield as well.

Bradford will be the Available Viking QB
MrEpsYtown replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. None of the three are going to re-sign to be a backup. Keenum comes back and Bradford or Bridgewater follow Shurmur. I've been thinking Bradford to Washington as he's a good fit for what Jay Gruden does and Bridgewater to Arizona with Shurmur. -
3 current Bills who played for Daboll: Charles Clay, Richie Incognito, Patrick DiMarco.
-
I think Keenum stays with the Vikes. I have Bradford going to the Skins to replace Cousins and Bridgewater to the Cards with Shurmur.
-
, Normally I would say yes, but Daboll was only at Bama for one year, so he wasn't involved in all of the recruiting etc. Alabama did not play against any of the top quarterbacks in this year's draft. The only quarterback to beat Bama this year? Jarrett Stidham who is going back to Auburn next season.
-
Keenum can play. Really impressive. His eyes are always down the field.
-
The good news is he will use Shady and he will use Charles Clay. Quarterback is still a huge question mark, but I feel like this is a good hire. I'm telling you NFL insiders will love it. Buffalo press will hate it quoting offensive statistics for those awful teams he was a part of. The one thing about Belicheat is that he doesn't work with dumb coaches. Daboll has to be a smart guy.
-
In Kansas City as well I believe
-
I wanted a coach that could make chicken salad out of chicken poo. I felt like Chudzinski was that kind of coach. Not sure on Daboll. I like the influences of belicheat and Saban. But he is young and has been around some good coaches. I will say that this will be a popular hire around the league with all of the talking heads and that we will finally make good use of our tight ends. Quarterback is still a massive question mark. Garopollo would be perfect right about now, but it is what it is. I think there is a negative zero chance Tyrod is back with this hire.
-
Cleveland was Colt McCoy, Brady Quinn, Derek Anderson, Jake Delhomme Miami Matt Moore KC Matt Cassell
-
Interested to see what Charles Clay and Richie Incognito think as they played for him in Miami. Being able to use a guy like Charles bodes well for how he will use Shady. He does a really good job getting tight ends involved. Coached QBs like Jake Delhomme and Matt Moore and etc.

Todd Haley for Offensive Coordinator?
MrEpsYtown replied to ColdFront_USAF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haley is a good coach. I just don't know if you want that guy developing a young quarterback as he is abrasive and difficult to deal with. Like imagine we move up and draft Josh Rosen. I'm sure Rosen and Haley will get along really well. -
OJ Simpson Jim Kelly Andre Reed Bruce Smith Thurman Thomas Kent Hull Joe DeLamielleure Eric Moulds Cornelius Bennett Steve Tasker Honorable mention to guys like Shady McCoy, Bryce Paup, Chris Spielman, Takeo Spikes who were dominate their short times here.
