3-1: Brandon Beane on WGR from the Scouting Combine
MrEpsYtown replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good points. I think when you make trades you go to the limit that you are willing to go to. I'm not sure you can be too worried about what other people are doing or really what the market value is. If you have a guy you like, you go up and get them. It can sometimes be hard to find people to trade down with, so I think the Giants will be willing to play. Also I think you have to look at the context. The Giants are in a position where a left tackle is extremely valuable to them. Even if he winds up playing 4 more years...If you can get him for however long Eli will be around, it is a win. They can draft more linemen at 21, 22 and address their defensive change from a 4-3 to a 3-4. The Giants were a good team with a terrible line and awful depth. That depth is going to worse with the defensive change. They could fix both of those issues with a trade down and we could see them go from 3-13 to a Super Bowl. They lost their best player to an injury and lost a number of extremely close games. A trade down makes a ton of sense for them. Our GMs and coach have a very close relationship as well. I also think that a number of teams are going to fill the quarterback position with a veteran and I do not think the Bills are one of those teams. I think this makes it easier to trade up. I think if we trade up it will be for Rosen. I'm not sure if everyone is going to love him. I could see the Broncos, maybe the Cards, but I think both of those teams find veterans. -
He's a good player no doubt. There must be something wrong with him personality wise. There has to be some intangible that coaches don't like or maybe he's just really dumb or a bad teamate. If his friend who was tweeting on his behalf last year is any indication of the company he keeps, then I could understand why people might stay away from him. Either that or he just wants too much money.

Austin is overpaid big time. I want Robert Quinn. -

Just the fact that he is saying that Tyrod would have to compete with Peterman, tells you they are moving on. The rest is coachspeak stuff imo. -
Damn. Prayers to Jim!

Finally a non midget reciever. Nice! -
I tend to disagree. Most of the OK State wins this year were blowouts. Their toughest matchup was Oklahoma, who beat them 62-52. They also had a really tough loss to TCU. Peterman's senior year featured marquee wins against Clemson and Penn State, plus wins over Villanova, Georgia Tech, Virginia, and a tough loss to Virginia Tech. If you really look closely at the level of competition, it's pretty comparable. In terms of potential, I think Rudolph is Bryce Petty, a guy with some size and physical tools who needs a ton of work. Petty was a fourth rounder. Peterman was a fifth. I guess my argument is that Rudolph is much closer to Peterman, than he is to any of the top guys in this draft. He is a third, fourth round pick in my opinion. I think he is a future solid backup to develop. Also in terms of measurables these were his measurables at the Combine: 6041 229 9 1/8 32 1/2 78 3/4 His hands are tiny for a guy his size. I think Jackson sneaks into the first round the first round.

It could be one of those cases in which everyone already knows that the Bills love him and there is no reason to put up a smokescreen. I think a lot of front offices have really good ideas about what other front offices are thinking. He may be putting teams on notice that they want to trade up. Sure some people may be able to beat us to the Giants pick, but no one else can offer two first round picks this year and a franchise left tackle. There may be no use in beating around the bush at this point. -

Rosen, Darnold, Allen, Mayfield, Jackson......huge drop off from there. -
I think it's possible. I feel like his small hands and lack of arm strength will turn them off, but I could be completely wrong. How he does on the board with offensive concepts is going to be critical for him. I don't think he is much better than Nate Peterman honestly. Similar arm strength, Rudolph has better size, Nate has bigger hands, Nate had experience in a pro style offense coming in. I don't think Rudolph move s the needle the way the top five guys would, and would therefore be a wasted pick. In the fourth round its fine. I count the top five as Rosen, Darnold, Allen, Mayfield and Jackson. I think there is a huge drop off after them. And I don't think the Bills will be in on Mayfield or Jackson. All just my opinions.

It's smokescreen season, but Beane has repeatedly said that he wants a quarterback who can win games from within the pocket. I like Jackson, I think Mayfield is interesting, I do not think the Bills will draft either. I think their board is Rosen, Darnold, Allen, or punt on this class.

Interested to see what he runs, because he is a dynamic offensive player. He could be a running back at that size. Measurables look similar to Tyrod Taylor, but a little more meat on his bones. He's bigger than Mayfield huh? -
Predict which team will sign Kirk Cousins (Poll)

The idea of a shorter term deal gets me thinking Arizona. Go to the Cards and try to win a Super Bowl with Larry Fitzgerald over the next couple of years. They are going to have to cut some players to make it happen though. -

Basically the same size as Mike White. Bigger hands than Rudolph, but a bit on the smaller side. -

Thanks for sharing. These points are huge in relation to Rosen. Having a guy on our team who played left tackle for Rosen for two years is a big deal. You have someone who can clarify questions about Rosen in your own house. This is huge. From everything I can gather, Conor McDermott loves Rosen. I will be interested to see if the Bills interview Kolton Miller, who played with Rosen for 3 years, and Scott Quessenberry, who played center for Rosen for two years. These are the guys who can show that "stories match up."
