  1. Probably yeah. Most of these people do tons of drugs actually. I do think that when the dust settles Allen goes number 1. It could be the Browns or somebody trading up. I don't think he is the best player in the draft. I think Elway wants a quarterback that most reminds him of himself, that would be Allen and his 80 yard bombs in my opinion.
  2. Agreed. I like Speilman's work a lot. I don't think the TV executives like people you know in depth thinks about the game. They like the generic talking heads so the fairweather fan can understand. TV people think audiences are ridiculously stupid and dumb things down for them. I remember when I worked for Vince McMahon, we fired a young up and coming wrestler named Elijah Burke. We had another budding star in Kofi Kingston...Vince decreed that one had to go because the audience would be too confused to tell the difference between them. (They happened to be two African American guys who looked nothing alike). But yeah that's how TV people think.
  3. Not sure why people can't see this. I could see him getting picked in the second, but he's a 3/4 like you said.
  4. I suppose he could come on as a 3rd down back who already knows the offense. We would have an old running back room, but three older quality guys could make it a good job share. I think you draft a young guy and carry four Rbs and DiMarco. And I would definitely look into Maclin. If we can sign a reciever who won't count towards comp picks, we will be in really good shape going into free agency and the draft.
  5. I'd prefer Troy Niklas. I think he still has potential to do more and seems like he'd be a better fit for the power run game.
  6. Key word is intent. He might not intend to, but if the right offer comes along he'd consider it.
  7. Oh I like the lurker idea. Ok possible off the radar lurkers: Houston- I know Watson looked great but he is hurt and was playing in a revised college offense, same thing Shannahan did for RG3. I fear that when O'Brien decides he wants Watson to run his full pro offense, he will struggle. They could sign Cousins and flip Watson for a first. Bengals- They could easily sign Cousins and trade Dalton with little cap ramifications. Possibly our Bills as well. I could see the Dolphins or Ravens, but they have zero cap.
  8. I'd say Cousins + Vikings defense or Cousins + Larry Fitzgerald
  9. Giants are shifting to a 3-4 with James Bettcher. Hughes is a better 4-3 end most of his career. JPP and Olivier Vernon are going to become their OLB-Edge guys. Hughes could be used as a trade chip to teams shifting to a 4-3 like Indy or the Cardinals. I could also see him going to Philly as part of a Foles trade. He was great for Jim Schwartz.
  10. How can we be upset about this signing after complaining about Tolbert all season? This is a nice depth signing. Ivory is the perfect change of pace back.
  11. I still think he goes to San Francisco. Tons of cap, a need, a good QB, nice weather.
  12. It is definitely going to be a crazy draft. I think free agency affects this as well. Who are the non-bridge quarterbacks? Guys that are not going to want to go to a place that is going to draft a young guy? Cousins obviously, McCarron? Bridgewater? Bradford? Foles?
  13. I know we are kind of changing the topic, but I have to say I really don't blame Gailey for that. Ralph Wilson was known as one of the cheapest owners, so a lot of those staffs were bare-boned staffs. Gailey was a great offensive mind who was simply not cut out to a head coach. That was his ultimate downfall. But that was pretty much my favorite offense since Kelly. Bledsoe with Kevin Gilbride was pretty good as well.
  14. I'm not sure the Eagles can get too greedy when it comes to Foles. He just kind of re-discovered his love of the game, so I'm not sure he will be okay with getting traded anywhere. I could see Minnesota or Arizona. I think DeFellipo is going to want to bring back Bradford or bring in Cousins. I think Arizona makes a ton of sense because Foles has a cheap contract, they have very little in the way of cap, he's a good fit with Mike McCoy, and he played at Arizona U. The Cards also really need to consider signing a vet to go with Larry Fitzgerald for the last few years of his career. I think the Bills could make some sense from a culture standpoint and familiarity with the coaching staff. I could also see Denver if they can't get Cousins, though I am not sure if Foles would like being in a spot where John Elway is breathing down his throat. (I think Elways wants Josh Allen anyway)
  15. Lynn has Whisenhunt running the offense...he is also an Erhardt-Perkins guy. I actually miss Chan Gailey's offense...he is also an E-P guy.
  16. Trapasso has a hard on for Rudolph. he is the only person who keeps mocking him to the Bills. I think he goes in the third.
  17. I could buy Rosen 1, Jackson 2. Some of the other Erhardt Perkins teams who could be picking quarterbacks include Todd Haley with the Browns, the Cards with Mike McCoy, Ken Whisenhunt with the Chargers and Adam Gase with Miami. Mike Shula, now with the Giants is also a E-P guy.
  18. I still think Denver trades up to 1 for Allen, Bills trade up to 2 for Rosen, Colts pick Chubb, Brownies get Barkley and Darnold/Mayfield at 4/5.
  19. Mayfield is a gamer for sure. I just don't think coaches and GMs can convince themselves he is the guy. I think if you are going to be small you have to have some qualities that make you super special. Wilson is really athletic with huge hands, and absolutely no red flags. He went in the third. Drew Brees was a special passer who scanned the entire field during his college career in an early spread system, but he was pinpoint accurate with the football also had plus 10 inch hands. Also squeaky clean and went in the second round. I think we are asking a lot of GMs to overlook everything about Mayfield and convince themselves that this is the guy they are going to hitch their careers to. Athletically, he is not super special. If you look at the numbers, he tested similar to Brees. A small quarterback better be an unbelievable athlete, or a pinpoint precise passer. Even when they are, they still don't go in the first round. Add red flags and such and it just doesn't add up. I like Mayfield, but I do think its Rosen, Darnold, Allen, and honestly I might hitch my future to an elite athlete like Lamar before Mayfield. I actually think the Saints should draft him at the end of the first and groom him behind Brees. I doubt he lasts that long.
  20. I just think a trade down from the Giants makes too much sense. They have a good team. Their coach was terrible last year and their best player got hurt. Their offensive line is awful. Take Cordy Glenn, 21, 22. Sign Andrew Norwell, draft James Daniels or Will Hernandez or whatever, suddenly your line is fixed. They also are transitioning to a 3-4 defense with holes in some places. Trade down, get the left tackle and fill in the gaps and this team could easily be a Super Bowl contender. Nelson could be an elite player, but the Giants have elite players, they need depth above all else. It's probably wishful thinking on my part because I want Rosen so badly, but it seems to be the best course of action for the Giants. I think the Beane-Gettleman connection helps. For them, drafting their future quarterback makes no sense at this point. The last team to really do this quarterback grooming thing right was the Packers. They did not have 100 holes all over their team and they had an elite prospect fall in their laps. The Giants need not force the issue. They need to trade down and try to win a Super Bowl.
  21. I will say that last year it was tough to get a clue on what Buffalo wanted to do. There was no inkling of any interest in Tre'davious White, Dion Dawkins, or Matt Milano or Vallejo. We assumed there was a connection with Zay Jones, but no report of a visit. They met with Peterman and pretty much all of the quarterbacks including Watson, Mahomes, Trubisky etc. They did meet with a number of corners, receivers, and tackles. I think the days or gone where we could look at a Buddy Nix and Doug Whaley list of reported visitors and kind of narrow it down to 1-3 guys they could pick. A couple of years ago, Shaq Lawson, Reggie Ragland, Cardale Jones, and Adolphus Washington were so obviously going to be the picks. Before that there was CJ Spiller the waterbug, Preston Brown, John Miller...just so obvious. Last year, McDermott's first and no pre-draft luncheon thing, rumors had it that the Bills wanted to trade up for Trubisky, when that was out they set their sights on Marshon Lattimore. When the trade down came together, they targeted White. We heard there was interest in Trubisky, but nothing on Lattimore or White. In conclusion, I think they will meet with pretty much all of the quarterbacks and try to trade up for one. By the list of visitors and meetings, we can kind of see which positions they might be targeting, which players they want is probably not as clear.
  22. I think Rosen is a possible future HOF type quarterback. He is the answer...if he stays healthy. I think Mason Rudolph is a 3rd-4th rounder who will stick around the league as an ok backup for a few years. Floor is Bryce Petty, ceiling is Brandon Weeden.
  23. Now watch them go sign Tannenbaum guys like Mo Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson. They will have the best d-line in the world accounting for like 75% of their cap.
  24. Agreed. I thought they should have taken Mahomes there. I will say, and maybe it makes sense, that they were probably trying to move up to two for Trubisky and the 49ers told the Bears, which led to the Bears jumping them. Also, when making these decisions they are kind of a big deal for the franchise to trade up for their quarterback for the next ten years. I think it is possible that McDermott decided to pass on that draft class, sans Peterman, until he had his own GM and scouts in place. Why would you let Doug Whaley's staff lead you to franchise quarterback? It is bad process. Now he has his true staff in place and his OC of choice as well. This year is the year they make the move.
