  1. Anyone who hates Nate and likes Mason Rudolph confuses me. Similar arm strength, Nate is the better athlete with bigger hands, plus his footwork and ability in a pro style offense makes him much more ready for the NFL. Rudolph is tall. Nfl.com gave Peterman a slightly better prospect grade. They compare Peterman to Kirk Cousins and Rudolph to Christian Ponder. Just sayin.
  2. Keenum has some history with Rob Boras, our tight end coach who was his OC in LA. I still think he winds up in Denver as the bridge if they can't get Cousins. Kubiak had Keenum for awhile and is clearly in Elway's ear. Foles has has history with Boras, David Culley, and ofcourse Andy Reid.
  3. There are definitely stand out quarterbacks in this draft, but they are all very different so it's hard to compare. Rosen is the 5 star recruit, intelligent precise passer with the big arm. Darnold is the guy coaches and scouts love with all the inagibles and athletic ability. Allen is the prototype, massive athletic quarterback with an amazing arm. Mayfield is the undersized fiery wolverine who just simply makes plays. Lamar Jackson is probably one of the all time most electrifying players to come out of college football. There are in fact 5 standout guys in this draft in my opinion. However, with the way college is going I think NFL teams have to find the one that fits best. Back in the day it was really easy to compare quartbacks. They were all kind of cut from the same cloth. This is not true anymore. To me Rosen is the guy that could fit any team's offense, but to say there are no standout quarterbacks in this draft just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Will they all make it? Likely not, but they are certainly standout players. After number five there is a huge drop off and a bunch of JAGS.
  4. I agree. It makes sense to leverage the Eagles. I would think the two teams interested in Foles are us and Arizona.
  5. Yeah I don't know. That comma in there got me all confused, but that makes sense. I agree with you that that should have no bearing on the choice.
  6. I think he meant that Elway would want Rosen, not Allen. Not sure though. Damn interwebs
  7. A couple of more things on McCarron... Projected as a second round pick coming out. Good size, ok arm, ok athlete. Smart, 10 inch hands. something to prove. Definitely does not have the upside that some other guys have. Nfl.com had a higher grade on him coming out than they do on Mason Rudolph, FWIW.
  8. My gut tells me Elway would want Allen. They have the ammo with 11 picks, but the majority of their picks ar in rounds 4-7. They have two thirds and two fourths. We can beat any deal they can in terms of quality of picks.
  9. I agree. I don't think Arizona is going to want to take a chance with Larry Fitzgerald's last two years. I think their board is something like Cousins, Foles, Bridgewater. They should at least try to make a pitch to Brees as well.
  10. But remember that Chris Ballard is a KC guy. He's basically John Dorsey's apprentice and therefore an Andy Reid guy ala Sean McDermott. I will say that the top three teams up there have strong ties to our franchise.
  11. Maybe his wife and Jordan Poyer's wife...I don't know where I'm going with this thought, but there is certainly something there.
  12. What I find funny is we keep talking about drafting a guy and letting him sit for a year or two to develop. That is basically what McCarron is. He's a guy who has been sitting and learning and developing. He has a tiny bit of experience, but played well and had the Steelers beat in the playoffs. Now I don't want him because I don't think he has the upside of some of the guys in the draft or a guy like Teddy Bridgewater. But honestly, I wouldn't hate it. I understand why people want him and why some people don't. People who completely dismiss him because lack of game experience just doesn't make sense to me. He's been developed as a backup quarterback for a few years and played at a very high level in college. He deserves a shot to compete for a starting job somewhere.
  13. Tyrod and Todd Haley seems like a very strange fit, but I do hope Tyrod does well. Haley is an aggressive guy who by all accounts is difficult to get along with. Tyrod seems very laid back and chill, but very professional. I don't think he is going to like having Haley in his face. I don't see this going well.
  14. Our problem was that we were doing that with no quarterback all of those years. Now is the time for the 49ers to go for it because they found their franchise quarterback and they have a ton of cap space. I agree that the Rams need to be careful, but as long as they structure deals properly, they will be okay. Gurley, Goff, and Donald are all still on rookie deals so they need to make sure they are ready to resign those guys. In he meantime they can spend. We got in a bad situation because we were always putting lipstick on a pig. Great supporting cast with no quarterback just doesn't work.
  15. They must have identified who they want and know that they can get them. I think it's either got to be a Nick Foles trade or a trade up agreed to already. Im starting to lean Foles to Arizona though.
  16. The John Lynch Stanford connection at play. I think its a great fit and I love what the Niners are doing. Now they should go try to convince Patrick Willis to unretire and come back and lead this defense.
  17. Ryan Jensen center. Nasty player with Castillo ties
  18. I think he might be the fallback for Arizona if they can't get Cousins or Foles. Guessing McCarron or Bridgewater.
  19. Just to add, Moore also played for Brian Daboll during his time in Miami as the OC. He's a perfectly capable backup who could start the first 4 games or so of the season. Bottom line is that McBeane is going to sign a cheap veteran like this to be in the quarterback room.
  20. Awesome! Can't believe we got a third. I must admit I serverely undervalued how much he could get. I definitely gotta eat crow on that so far.
  21. Sign McCarron then draft Barkley and Fitzpatrick? Their front seven is pretty good.
  22. They should push their chips in for Drew Brees and really do something special. Still so much cap. Grab Barkley and Nelson.
  23. That would be the "Rob Johnson" strategy...but at least Foles won a Super Bowl and has had success in the past...not just one or two games.
