  1. I think it is a pick your flavor situation. They are all so different at the top and there is no Andrew Luck. I think the closest thing is probably Rosen, and Darnold could probably become that. You you want a precise passer with perfect mechanics who is a unique personality? Rosen You want a gamer with tools, but some unorthodox to his game, but wins? Darnold You want the prototype, size, speed, arm strength that needs to be developed? Allen You want the small overachiever, gamer, who you will have to alter your offense for but can win right away? Mayfield You want the super athlete who can be a game changer eventually? Jackson You want a slow, unathletic big guy from a mickey mouse offense with tiny hands, a weak arm and footwork issues? Rudolph I think it just depends on what staffs are looking for.
  2. It only makes sense if they are targeting like Roquan Smith or something, but that seems unlikely.
  3. I'm guessing they are drafting Darnold or Allen? And we are taking what's left or Rosen? With how we have punted on veteran qbs we have to be taking Rosen no? The other guys will not be ready to play right away.
  4. Perhaps they like Peterman more than we do and likely see little difference between him and a guy like AJ McCarron. There needs to be a vet in the room however, whether that is a guy like Matt Moore or not remains to be seen.
  5. I posted this in another thread but I think either they already know they are getting the guy they want, based on conversations with their strong connections at the top of the draft, or they are trading for Nick Foles.
  6. hmm so does this make Barkley less likely? Maybe this means the Giants stay put and we trade to 4?
  7. We actually almost signed him last year, but he decided to take the offer in SF because they were guaranteeing him some starting time. We were offering him the chance to compete to start.
  8. Smokescreens be damned. The Bills are not playing around and don't seem to be interested in overpaying for a bridge. I think they are making it really clear that they are trading up for a quarterback. I think the entire league knows who they want and I am not sure anyone is going to stop them. They probably already know who Cleveland is likely to take and probably know that they are going to get our guy someway. Either that or they are getting Nick Foles.
  9. I think it is easy to sell him on the idea that he will have a shot to compete for the starting job this year. He isn't going to get that opportunity anywhere else at this point.
  10. I think we are in for a couple of surprises tomorrow. I recall last year hearing all about Patrick DiMarco and rumors about Stephen Hauschka in the tampering window. Then suddenly when free agency officially opened we had signed Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer.
  11. I think they take Barkley, Bills trade to two for Rosen, Colts take Chubb, Cleveland takes Allen or Darnold. If Cleveland takes a quarterback at 1, I'm not sure the Giants trade out. They probably stay and take Barkley.
  12. A bridge quarterback is not meant to be some big buddy or something. It is really meant to provide the rookie with someone to look up to, to see their work ethic and how they watch film and things of that nature. They are still competing for a job every day. A bridge is not supposed to be your best friend. There needs to be a veteran in the room. If you are planning on the rookie starting right away, then the vet can be a guy like Matt Moore. If you want the rookie to earn the job and compete for it, which is likely with this staff, then you sign a guy like McCarron who is still young and hungry.
  13. Honestly, I think they are very close. Similar size and measurables. Both have big hands etc. Both run about as fast as Preston Brown. McCarron is probably what Peterman is in 4 years. I suppose the difference is that McCarron is developed.
  14. Jon Kitna was really good to Carson Palmer his rookie year. Palmer sat behind Kitna the entire season. Beat me to it lol
  15. Seems like a good problem to have.
  16. Agreed! This is where I am at. Why would he play football and put his life at risk when he could be doing anything else? He clearly loves the game and has a passion for it, otherwise he wouldn't do it. Some guys play for the paycheck, their only chance to make it out. He plays because he loves it.
  17. Their defense is going to be very good. They still need some pass rush. Their offense is not so good.
  18. I don't know. His pass protection is just awful and his run blocking is not much better. I think he might be one of the worst starters in the NFL. Needs to be upgraded big time. I think it was clear from the few plays he was in there that Seantrel was better. Not sure what this staff was thinking with this.
  19. Good stuff. I'm a Rosen lover because to me he is clearly the best quarterback prospect. He is one of the best I have seen in a few years. I don't understand why it is even a debate. The concussions I get, but I think it is obvious he is better than the other guys. I am hoping a praying that he is the guy we get.
  20. McDermott does have some promise, and they must like something about him to keep him on the roster this long. Also drafted by the Patriots so that's something. He was seen as a really athletic prospect who had to add strength. If he has done that, he could be a sleeper. Mills blows.
  21. I was just joking. I should have ended with a My bad
  22. Search function doesn't help because inevitably every single topic at some point contains the words "Rudolph, Mayfield, or Taylor" in it. Tough to narrow it down. Don't forget the tiny hands and lack of athleticism.
  23. They had no one at all on their roster. Guessing the draft #3, but they could put it off for a year.
  24. Ricky Ray still available?
