  1. Patriots are the biggest scam of our generation. Right up there with health insurance companies, lobbyists, and high fructose corn syrup. F them. Their eventual fall from grace will be so pleasing.
  2. One of the guys are going to get past the Broncos. Probably Mayfield or maybe Rosen. For Beane, this is the striking distance scenario. While I would prefer a trade up and guarantee, if he is ready to move to 6-10 to get the sliding quarterback and can still keep 22, that would be best. If you can come out of this first round with a high end quarterback prospect (Iḿ talking Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Mayfield) and a MIKE like LVE or Evans or whomever, it is a huge win.
  3. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/phillip-gaines?id=2543851 Draft profile makes him sound like a guy with some length and athleticism to be a zone corner. When it comes to defensive backs, I have to trust McDermott.
  4. They must want Darnold if this is the case. Reports of their love of Darnold came out in December, well before smokescreen season.
  5. I like Lock, but the 2020 class is shaping up to be the next 2018 class
  6. Taking the seventh or eight best player at 1-2 is really not an overdraft. It's very slight, but you are talking about a likely franchise quarterback. An overdraft is taking the 30th best player in the top 3. An overdraft is drafting the 75th best player at 12. That is a colossal reach and a huge mistake that sets your franchise back because you are passing on 60 some odd players that are better and can likely get that QB later.
  7. Not a fan of a guy throwing to wide open recievers?
  8. It wouldn’t surprise me at all.
  9. If Beane wants Mayfield he is a badass because everything he has said he looks for in a quarterback do not really fit Mayfield. If he wants him he started his smokescreen a while go. Its defintely possible. They met with him at the Senior Bowl, Combine, and private workout. I still dont think he is the target, but could be. I still think the early pre combine rumors anout Darnold and Rosen are closest to the truth. Doesnt mean he can get them, but we shall see.
  10. He probably priced himself out. That is why Beane made the move for Davis. We probably moved on at that point. The fact that his price was so low says nothing about Beane missing out. We probably gave him an offer he thought was low and he likely got less on the market.
  11. Haha lol no this here’s a one way street
  12. For the most part they let the corners play, just not against the Patriots.
  13. Maybe they just needed that tiny bit of cap for an LB signing. But yeah i kinda liked what he brought
  14. Weird timing but defintely expendable. Made a few nice plays rushing as a defensive tackle, which I think they will do with Lawson on passing downs.
  15. As long as it is not in the first 2 rounds I’m good.
  16. I believe that would be tampering.
  17. The Steelers are not using their first round pick on this guy. They may like him. They aren't taking him that high. They only have 5 draft picks. They don't have the luxury to draft another Landry Jones in the first. He's probably between 70-75th best prospect and people want him at 12.
  18. When I said corner, tackle, and center I meant Star, Davis, and Bodine. These are not camp bodies. They have players at other positions. The clear issues are quarterback and mike. The team that made the playoffs last year was not better than what we have now. Don't jump just yet.
  19. This team needs a quarterback and a Mike. We needed a defensive tackle, a corner, and a center as well and we got them. Yes there are other needs, but that's all depth. I don't give a crap if deonte Thompson goes to the cowboys or not. Quarterback of the offense and quarterback of the defense. Those things are not on this team yet and those two decisions will make or break this regime.
  20. This is a re-build on the fly. They are tearing it down while also keeping the team competitive with modest contracts and young players. The plan actually makes a ton of sense until you wind up making the playoffs by accident. Which was awesome and I wouldn't trade it for a higher pick. I just hope that Pegula stays patient. I think getting him that young blue chip quarterback is a great way to buy more patience.
  21. Another reason why the Giants should be willing to trade down. The Bills pick next year may be high.
  22. Fair enough. I think the top five Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Mayfield, Jackson all go in the first. Then I think people gobble up all of the positional talent in this draft and there is a long wait for White, Rudolph, Falk etc. I think the 6th guy goes in the third. I think if this team reaches on Rudolph, this franchise will be set back another 4-5 years. I pray they do not succumb to the pressure and reach on a quarterback again. Itś EJ Manuel and JP Losman all over again. Also Darnold going #1 when he is the 7th best prospect in the draft and Rudolph going 12 when he is a third rounder, maybe 65th best prospect overall are completely different types of reaches.
  23. Yes this. I could also see them using the extra capital to get more picks next year.
