  1. One of these guys will be there, it's just a question of which one. I'm guessing Rosen or Mayfield at this point, and I am okay either way. And I think this is what Beane meant when he said "striking distance."
  2. Same. I don't hate it. I like OBJ, the problem is can you sign him long term? If not it isn't worth the risk. Honestly, in the back of my mind, because obsessions, I have to count all the stuff we traded for Sammy Watkins too...because we should have just taken him at nine.
  3. This. So take solace in the fact that he is usually pretty off guys. The one thing, we are likely not getting a quarterback without a trade up, and I don't think he usually projects trades. So linebacker, corner seems likely. The true question is...did he have Mason Rudolph in first?
  4. Beane talked about post draft cuts the other day. It makes sense to wait for that time and keep a bit of that money aside for one, a little nest egg for someone who is good that shakes loose.
  5. I still don't love him and I don't know if I buy it, but if they think he is Drew Brees, and will win from the pocket, I'm good with it. Trusting the process.
  6. Man I hope the Jets or Broncos don't kill him. I mean I know he had a run in with the cops, but that seems excessive.
  7. Good points. It's always projectable skills more than anything.
  8. Somebody made fun of me a couple of months ago when I suggested he'd be a sought after commodity. Oh well. He still has that Belichick shine on him and played ok when given the opportunity.
  9. Very surprising that he failed. Really smart, great size and athletic ability. Did not transition well from the spread offense. Something like 7 offensive coordinators in 8 years and I think that is one of the reasons he never got going. But Mayock was obviously wrong and that is one of the reasons we could see Allen drafted before Darnold. .
  10. So strange that no one takes Mason Rudolph in the first. Weird....;)
  11. I think they wanna see if Chubb falls. If Chubb is gone, it makes sense for them to trade back. Miller had it 12, 22, and 96 I believe. Something like that.
  12. Plus, Nate Peterman last year 5.7, slightly lower than Mahomes at 5.8 and Watson at 5.9. Slightly higher grade than message board hero Mason Rudolph. I mostly agree with this, but the Mason Rudolph comp is Christian Ponder, I think mostly based on a noodle arm. Physically they are nothing alike.
  13. I mean this guy is the JV, smaller, less talented version of Paxton Lynch, who has developed for a couple of years in the league, and is just a year older than Ferguson. So might as well try to work a trade for Lynch.
  14. If this is directed to me, I simply posted this as an example of why I think the Jets owner may not like the idea of drafting the kid. So it is simply relevant to the conversation in the thread. And if it is directed at Rosen, he was simply answering a question the reporter asked.
  15. Thank you. That is just ridiculous. Intriguing in that second tier based on that alone.
  16. Hmmm maybe the Browns will bench Tyrod after throwing for 52 yards and Stanton will throw 5 interceptions in one half paving the way for Saviour Darnold?
  17. Lol, that's why I said Johnsons, but yeah his BS political appointment doesn't really require much attention. It's basically a title. Apparently every rich doner gets a nice title the last couple of years. Woody is definitely still plugged into what the team is doing.
  18. He's obviously a super selfish spoiled rich kid who doesn't care about anybody other than himself.
  19. https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2016/04/11/uclas-josh-rosen-wears-hat-special-message-donald-trump I know people don't want to talk politics, and I know it's long, but this is what Rosen said in an interview: "Well, I think it’s no secret that I’m not a large fan of Donald Trump — from a policy standpoint and from a human-being standpoint. I think it’s cowardly to run a campaign based on demagoguery and bigotry, and to incite fear so you can rally support for personal gain. He’s feeding off of racial tension and a lack of religious understanding, and a lack of sympathy and empathy for people who are different from him. I think it’s sad that he’s not even trying to understand important issues and propose legitimate policies to make the country a better place. It seems like he just wants to be president … so he can be president. There’s so much I don’t like. I don’t like his policy positions, and I really don’t like him making racially charged statements to people who don’t know better or understand what it’s like to come from poverty or different backgrounds. One of the reasons why I love the sport of football so much is because it’s exposed me to so many varying circumstances and all different types of people. And the same goes for college. That’s part of why after getting to college I’ve formed such strong political stances, and it’s cool going to a school like UCLA where we’re encouraged to dig into important issues and freely speak our minds. I mean, we both come from money. We’re both well-educated people — or are becoming well-educated — our parents are educated, and we are privileged. We can come to college and not really have to worry about finances. We can focus on school and football. Meanwhile, we have guys on the team who are sending every dime of money they have home to their families. College has really opened my eyes to those disparities. I just feel really strongly about this topic, because I believe there’s a level of ignorance in this country when it comes to empathizing with others, and that needs to change. And I’m literally willing to sit down and debate anyone in the country — anyone! — about Trump and the current state of our society. I welcome the opportunity to discuss this stuff further. I care about it. You probably shouldn’t have gotten me started, man. But, yeah, I think it’s safe to say that me and Donald Trump will not be getting matching Thunder Buddies T-shirts anytime soon."
  20. I'm just sayin. Woody Johnson is on his staff. They are neighbors in a rich little private community in Jersey. The Johnsons seem to meddle way too much and our President sometimes makes a big deal out of things that aren't a big deal. Seems like it won't work, but that's just me.
  21. Gotta be Peerless or Byrd I would think. I guess Peerless over Byrd because they gave up a draft pick I believe. Nate Clements contract was pretty bad at the time as well.
  22. So the meddling Jets owners are just going to go ahead and let their people draft the guy who wore the "F Trump" hat? Seems unlikely. I hope we get a shot at Rosen.
  23. I knew a guy name Richard Weiner. ? And as as a teacher you see some weird names. I had a student whose first name was Alpacino. Mom was a big scar face fan.
  24. I do think Hughes is gone eventually because I really don't love his fit in the defense and he is overpaid for what he has produced. But he is a good player and may have a better year with Murphy as a bookend.
